  • In this episode of the Rolling Realtor, Bill & Mike tour a Sprinter van with a NUMBER of long neglected problems. Unfortunately, this van is just too far gone to make it worth the amount of time and money it would take to get this van right again.

    Seeing myself on camera, I am very aware my mask tactics need practice. I could also use a better fitting mask, so if anyone would like to see their product featured on our channel, send an email to Bill@FloridaVanMan.com

    Hey... I really appreciate your channel. Been looking for info on Fuel rail and pessure regulator info on a 2011 3500 3liter TD. Surprised you haven't touched on it with the recent class action non inclusion to repair. Mercedes wanted to change both rails on a regulator code ?

      We are T1N guys with a hobby gone wild. We don't have a shop or any mechanical training, so mostly stick to the older vans.

    Sounds like the muffler bearings are shot too. Most likely they didn’t keep the air in the tires rotated and the blinker fluid changed. People just don’t take care of their rigs anymore.

    Good afternoon! I seen one of your videos about the van won’t start and I check every single thing you said (battery, cranksansor, lift pump, relays, keys, camshaft sensor, and still won’t start can you help me with any answer what can be my problem?

      @FloridaVanMan  Před 2 lety

      Yes, I'll need some details about your van and when it stopped starting. Was it one cold morning or after a short stop when everything was hot? The year and country of your van is important. Become a Patreon patron or make a one-time donation with your details here: floridavanman.com/donate/

    So if fan kicks on, glow plug light stays on, and van won’t turn over right away bad ecm?

    • @FloridaVanMan
      @FloridaVanMan  Před 3 lety

      Usually yes. If the aux fan comes on with the key and then it won't crank that suggests ECM failing. Try pushing on the relays at the bottom of the steering wheel fuse box and maybe give it a little love tap. If that doesn't fix it, or the problem persists intermittently, I have a work-around that will start it. But my work-around is kind of barbaric and risky.

    Tried to start my 06 t1n. Had glow plug errors, cleared them, tried to start again. It cranked and ran while pressing throttle then it died. Threw a camshaft sensor error and now it just sounds like only the starter is spinning. Any ideas??

    • @FloridaVanMan
      @FloridaVanMan  Před 2 lety +1

      Bad camshaft sensor will prevent starting. With a code reader like the AP200 (linked above) you can view live data including Cam/crank sync authorization. If that remains "no" you'll need to replace one of those sensors, or both.

    My ecm is throwing up a P2316 error ignition coil 6 circuit high, is it ok to go for a long ride

    • @FloridaVanMan
      @FloridaVanMan  Před rokem

      Not if your van is a T1N Sprinter. More likely your code reader is puking a misunderstood code. Our vans do not have an ignition coil or 6th circuit anything in a 5 cylinder engine. I would not advise a long ride with unknown code popping up. pin our Patreon for assistance working this out. floridavanman.com/donate/

    So you just sparked the Sprinter battery with an 18v drill battery? and that resets the ECU?

    • @FloridaVanMan
      @FloridaVanMan  Před 3 lety

      Yes, but I do NOT recommend trying this unless we establish you have the very same problem. This can destroy your ECM, so if it is not already broken, this may break it. Does the electric radiator fan come on with the key?

    • @FloridaVanMan

      @@hazlox It did on the 3rd or 4th attempt turning the key. When the key turns on without the fan coming on, it will start normally. But if the fan comes on with the key it is usually the ECM, (always in my experience).

    • @presley6416
      @presley6416 Před 2 lety +1

      @@FloridaVanMan I have found that this issue is the relay next to the turn signal relay under steering column. I had this exact same thing happen to me. I went to start my van and nothing happened except the fan came on. I accidently wiggled those relays while hold key in start position and it started right up. It happened many times and every time I would just wiggle that relay and it would start. Same thing for the turn signals except its the relay on the right. I actually took apart that fuse block and discovered that where those 2 relays plug in the connections become loose, most likely because they are hanging and bouncing while driving. I just crimped the ends on the fuse block a bit and they both work fine now.
