- Meet Chris from @ThisweeksAdventure
He gave us tour of his sweet 2006 Dodge Sprinter Van.
He bought and built this van for just around 16k.
The conversion has everything from heating to a toilet and a shower.
Also the most emotional story of how he got into van life I have heard.

praying for him 🙏🏼 happy he found joy in vanlife
You just never know what someone is going through. Be kind. You just might save a life.
This is the first time I’ve told my story publicly but I’ve shared it in person for three years now. It’s overwhelming how often someone relates to my story and has a similar story of their own.
What a great story. Sometimes God intervenes when He knows your time is not up. I just love this guy. His van is a hoot with all his stickers. I'm so glad he said that about nature's head toilets. A bucket and a plastic bag and dispose or dig a hole.
That was a very touching story. I was wish Chris all the best.
💗💗💗
Everyone does there van, bus, etc to fit their needs. You did a great job. You give back by freely giving skateboards and thats so sweet. I hope you can sell a ton of your fathers sun glasses. Its good you’re friend came and it bought you time to look at Gods creation and appreciate it enough to want to experience it. I believe God saved your life and sent your friend. He then gave you ideas. That solitude with nature helps us to hear his voice when seeking. Thank you for sharing and God bless.
Amen
That was very emotional for me happy father's day Issac I hope all your wishes and blessing come true very strong video thank you for your work
Prayers for you brother....Stay strong, you have a lot to offer!
Wow!! What a blessing you are. It’s a proven fact that the closer you are to nature the more sane you are and the farther away you are from natural the more insane you become. Thank you!
Great job Chris. I wish you the very best!😊
This man and the truth he speaks is everything.... I wish him all the hapiness in his life's path ❤ new sub 🙂
He's savage about the composting toilet but I like his honesty.
My gawd, Isaac. What a remarkable story. Did you know his past before the tour? Thanks for sharing it and being genuine enough to get him to open up.
Really enjoyed this tour of Chris’s van ! Loved his energy and even subbed to his channel! I thought the shower in the back of the van was great! Keep on trucking Chris there is always something you haven’t seen!
Great interview Isaac! 💜
Thanks, Isaac killed it! The shower was a must as hard as I play and I agree I now get worried I won’t live long enough to see it all!
Very interesting video. I loved watching it. ❤️ Wish you luck Chris. Good job Isaac....
WOW, thank you for your honesty. Despite wearing helmets when needed my daughter, son, son in law, granddaughter and myself (3) have all had head injuries of one kind or another. I think knowing the signs can help with our reactions but also I think we give people some grace when we realize they aren’t just being an old fashioned asshole.
Thank you for commenting on taking care of our waste as well. I think most people wouldn’t have an issue with people parking in front of their houses as long as they didn’t leave crap behind.
Enjoy your travels, this really is an incredible place to experience! 💕
I crashed a motorcycle on the road...was told I was out for a few seconds...not entirely sure how long. I just remember getting off the road and there was a cop there...he had just passed moments before. I sat on the curb in a fog sort of...but irritated he was asking me questions and I just wanted to sit for a minute. I could tell it was all clearing up. Luckily I was wearing a helmet...that was the last time that helmet was worn. I had no real injuries other than a pulled bruised hamstring, a small cracked rib and some aches. I road the bike about 1 mi home it had minimal damage from my frame sliders and bar ends.
Wear your helmets!!!
Most amazing story! If your ever in Md come for a visit!! We are old hippies with hearts of gold
Great videos Isaac! Bless your heart Chris! I’m glad you went on that hike! Stay safe!
He has a purpose now to teach prevention and if he even saves one it is worth sharing.
Issac this was a really cool van build
This is a true example of the fickle nature of mother nature, her beauty draws you to her, entices you to embrace her in all the excitement she has to offer, then allows you to bask in her magnificent glory as she comforts you when you need it the most CGS 6/19/2022
*THANK YOU for confirming what I’ve always known about the Nature’s Head toilets!!! Back when I began van life, they were “all the rage” and I couldn’t understand it. My 5 gallon bucket and DIY separation system always worked for me!! (Crystal Vanner, former full time nomad 2015-2021).*
They were really good at marketing not making toilets!
Great vlog Issac! Chris is a very honest person he has a practical 'build' & you brought his emotions out! 😢🤩 So glad he found that there was still more to LIFE! There must be SO many people/athletes with CD who are suffering but he advice makes heaps of sense!! 😍
This was very interesting and he is a special person because he realized he had a problem and he solving it kudos to him
Some days I feel 10 steps ahead of it others I feel totally powerless. I just try to stay happy and positive on this rollercoaster!
Great video and blessings to Chris extreme great story ! Much love and peace
Cool, love the drawer of sunglasses, lol, all the best to Chris😎.
"Solid as a rock" as it violently shakes back and forth 🤣
I found his interview with you really interesting. You did a great job on this one 👏!! Thank you Issac for the always bringing us such interesting and fun tours. 😊
Great video, I loved Chris 's story and how God works in mysterious ways to save him and show him how van life was a way to live 🙏🙏🥰his life to the fullest.
Awesome Chris, glad you're still here brother. Nice van too.
Very well thought out 👏 good job Ike 👏‼️❌⭕️♥️🙏
I loved his layout
This guy is a genius! Great van and love his stickers. I'm so glad he is still in this world and shared his story with us. Kudos to him!! Are you going to be doing a tour of his friend/girlfriend's bus or did I miss that one?
God bless you Chris! Thank you for telling your story! Stay safe!
much love to you Chris. I've been dreaming of a cross country trip to see the redwoods and all in-between. your touching story will help me to not continue to delay it. I'm 65, alone and camp in 2015 Yaris hatchback but it's perfect for me and guides my travels ~named appropriately STAR. I live in Cincinnati area in small but awesome apartment and travel when I can. 💛🙏
Do it! don’t miss those, I’ve been three times now and every time I’m incredibly thankful I didn’t miss them.
You are triumphant through your trials
Super cool 👍
A nice tour with you 🙋
So awesome of you to share your story. Hopefully others will learn from your experience. ALSO great most important tip.
Happy Father's Day Isaac
Great build! Thanks for sharing your imporant story.
Well, such an inspiring story
Thx enjoyed the tour and sharing life’s story
Hahaha! Love the Nature’s Head review. 😂 (I’m going to make my 17yr old daughter watch this-bc I’m happy with a 5 gallon bucket and she wants the natures head) We’re starting our build soon! ❤
Stay strong brother. Thanks for letting me in your story. Remember to take one day at a time. Hope to see more content
I’m still roaming the country finding new places I’ve never been!
Happy Father's day 💙 💓
TBI can be helped with serrapeptase enzymes. It eats away at scar tissue, which is the biggest contributor to traumatic brain injury.
YOU ARE GROUNDED.. GOD BE WITH YOU!!!!
WOW! Another amazing build!! Is amazing how this guy is living his life, without compromise, and has done a great job with his van (and considering, this is a ‘redo’, after having his 1st, totaled). I love seeing how ppl are so ingenious! Good for this guy!! All the best on your amazing journey! Wow, just ‘listened to your story”, touched my heart, I’m so SO grateful that this man was ‘saved/spared/rescued/ whatever “IT” was that ‘kept him here’, *moved to tears , ... of JOY! Thank you both; -thank you Sir, for sharing this difficult and beautiful(bitter/sweet) story. I could NOT BE more full of ‘GRATITUDE’. You made my day! HOLD ONTO HOPE! (Great interview, Isaac. Ty) Peace! ☮️ 💜 ☀️ - SUNshine “Heals”, i just read another report, they’re learning more and more NEW scientific phenomena about the ‘positive ‘ affects of the sun’s ‘light waves’ on our minds & bodies.(More advanced than the D3 hormone.) GET OUTSIDE, GET FRESH AIR, EAT GOOD FOOD, AND GET SOME SUNSHINE! BE GOOD TO YOURSELF, EVERYONE!! PS. - LOVE THIS MAN”S INVALUABLE “PERSPECTIVE” ON MONEY & VALUE!! HE HAS SO MUCH TO TEACH YOUNG MEN! Isaac is also a wise man. I don’t know what brought them together, but they are both ‘GREAT YOUNG MEN”!! Each with a Purpose. - Get out to the REDWOODS and BEYOND!!
Thank you for your kind words.
Great video! Thanks for sharing !
Thanks for sharing your story and home
Happy Father's Day Isaac!!! -Hugs 🤗
Good Job!
Great job and I am a Sticker Geek so that's an added plus!
I have exact stickers of the van reach out on Instagram and I’ll send you one!
@@ThisweeksAdventure Thank you, but save them for someone else. Watching you share your experiences was such an eye opener. My oldest son hung himself 5 years ago after battling with PTSD. Just remember and know that there are people who love you and are always here for you.
Hello from Colorado
Hello from Oregon!
I don't know what camera you are using (says sony a 7iii) but I would either put it on a tripod or get the image stabilisation sorted- most people won't notice - but some of us struggle with headache inducing image movements. if I feel like I am about to get vertigo I stop watching and just listen . Also, when someone has a medical condition that is relatively unknown, please put a link for further info. I am sure Chris would want viewers to have a better understanding of how he has overcome adversity as he was so honest and accommodating. Stay safe on your travels, Chris.
I like this Sprinter apart from the stickers on the outside..resell will be hard because nobody wants to take the time an effort of taking them off..
Apart from that I really do like the interior 👌
I never intend to sell this van.
@@ThisweeksAdventure well good for you..😊
@@Sandymac-725 years in and still going!! I wouldn’t take 100k for this van!!
@@ThisweeksAdventure that's good to hear
My natures head is totally worth it but I got a use for 250 I would never have spent 1000 bucks on one if I had to replace it I would probably do the DIY as well
I’ve said many times if they were 200-300 I’d feel a lot different.
I believe in National Parks you cannot drain straight to the ground. Likewise at RV camps
It’s a real touchy subject for some, here’s how I’ve handled it in the past when approached by authority. In Pendleton Oregon I had a cop approach pissed that I’d just showered and washed my dishes in a gravel parking lot. I stepped out of the van with a bottle of water and rinsed my hands with it as we were talking then drew his attention to it and he said that’s different. I then educated him how it was no different if I did the same act inside my van and it ran straight out. We then watched a video on CZcams of how a traditional septic system works and how everything that goes down a household drain leeches into the ground. I taught him about Bonners soap and the altercation ended with him wanting to do better in his own household. All that being said I always try to be conscious and courteous about where I use my shower and sink. You might be right about national parks but the reasoning wouldn’t be environmental as much as it would be volume just like with RV camps. Yellowstone was supposedly getting 4 million visitors a year and everyone parks in the same spots at RV camps that would create mud holes and a headache.
Nature's Head is hating this dude right about now. Lol.
If they want to “sponsor” me and reimburse me my $1000 I’ll build a DIY and shut up about it, but it’s the first thing everyone sees and recognizes so they ask and I tell the truth. Lol
💜
Nice van build. Where did you get the upper cabinets above bed? How much did the shower build cost you?
I custom built the cabinets, at the time I think that shower was around $450 but I didn’t buy the shower pan a family member made it for me without charging me for it.

You’re not dancing today?
The first Father’s Day when I’m a father
I AM DANCING
On video
With this song overdubbed
Three Dog Night
Celebrate
I’m the Hand of Moses
I part the Red Sea
Plowing in her waters
To make her free
Her home to roam
Promised land bound
Cults of Egypt had her soul
But Miracles abound
hows the Harbor Freight generator perform after being bounced around?
It’s still running strong.
💯👍🏿
🙏🏼
Why don't you use a hotplate and a Jackery or Bluetti?
Power and storage space, I’ve tried a TON of different ways to cook this was the most efficient for myself and my space.

Stickers, what are ya, 12?
I’d say somewhere around 14 I’ve got a little more attitude than a 12 year old.
@@ThisweeksAdventure the stickers are my favorite part! 🔥
Glad you can NoMad in life a great life to live. Great exterior of your home but the showing of your personal castle I will never understand why anyone shows all they have in their life. It is never a good choice in life to do. We will have a friend over for a mug of coffee in life or enjoy a good home cooked meal together & we will know & trust their company. To broadcast your private home in life, only opens your life up to the criminal element in society & ones personal life & home can be seriously effected. Use common sense in life & all precautions as anyone does in a stick & bricks home. Safe Travels.
Maybe you can also pick up a bible and read while sitting outside.
