SpraCoupe engine for our 1961 VW bus?!

- We go to pick up our engine for the VW bus today! The coil on the new to us engine did not work so we removed the coil from the original bus engine, and it worked!! Sorry ahead of time for the poor audio quality. We do have microphones now but of course they didn't come in time for this video. Thank you all for watching and subscribing!

That bus is a 6v 180mm flywheel - you will have to clearance the bell housing if using a later 12v 200mm flywheel -(not a big deal). Only have to change all light bulbs, starter, horn, and add a voltage reducer for wiper motor to fully convert to 12v. Easy.---- both those motors have generators on them. VW introduced alternators on type 1 engines in 1973. 6v to 12v in 1967.
When you remove the engine, remove all the tin pieces
and get rid of mice nests.
Being out in the barn yard it’s for sure got mice.
Just subscribed because this is gonna be a good storyline. I had no idea that the those rigs have vw power. The bus looks like a good find. I'm surprised the frame is in decent shap. I replaced all floors on my bay window and am in the process of body panels. Good luck. This is going to be interesting.

This should be interesting, I know next to nothing about VW.I helped my cousin pull one engine and put a different one in, that's it.
