Planning on raising an OBR army in the coming month (when that darn battletome finally shows up), so I'm always glad when they appear on the channel !
I wouldn't be overoptimistic about the battletome. GW evidently isn't working to a plan to get out armies quickly whose rules don't work, as Kharadron are so late and we've only had one Death tome so far, nor have they been shy about updating later AoS 2 books as both DoK and Lumineth have had new tomes already. With the pattern of releases recently I think FEC and Soulblight will most likely be next. I'd prefer OBR, since it seems evident none of the tomes before Seraphon are getting model support other than the usual foot hero and I want new Grave Guard, but equally if OBR are up soon that implies they're not getting archers, chariots or any other new units.

I really didn't like the Ossiarchs when I first saw them. Though they looked ridiculous. And while I still hold that view for a couple of their models, I've definitely warmed up to their design.

Hey Jordan! What FDM printers would you recommend for your terrain? I used to have a Purse that I bought second hand and sold it due to it.. never working lol. It was pretty messed up when I ordered it, so I'd love to get another one that is fixed.
This seems like the perfect type of game for the reapers. 60 Mortek and a Gothizzar on a central objective against a mostly melee army sounds really rough. What's really impressive is that the Gitz still almost punched right through one of the tankiest castles in the game it head on!!!

Jaws of Mork is overrated and King's Gitz is underestimated.
I re-watch this battlereport again properly this time while having my meal, as I was just letting it play in the background earlier.
A very sad waste of going first and the Jaws of Mork subfaction.
Not sure if Bud knew, but the new Bad Moon rules is different now, just before the first turn starts, we get to choose where the Bad Moon is.
Because we can choose where Bad Moon placement after knowing who goes first, and it can really help your games if you have Squigboss & Squig Herd.
So starting the Moon on your side is more useful when you have Troggoth.
With the change in map size, many battleplans put only 18” distance between deployment zone, and the furthest is only 22” apart like this one, Realmstone Cache.
By placing the Bad Moon in the opponent’s quarter, a Squig Herd only need to push up 9” to 11” to have run and charge. Adding the spell Squig Lure, you have re-rollable charge.
If you have the Bloodthirsty Triumphs, even better because Squig Lure is a 5+ cast, so it possible to fail.
With the Release the Squig hero phase movement of Squig Herd, moving d6+5”, then running 2d6+5”, the average roll is about 19” and the worse you can ever do is 13”.
So it’s either a 3” charge or a 9” charge. It is very doable and possible to pull-off.
If you pull off the Alpha-Strike you will be locking the enemies in their starting location, and against OBR it is extremely important. OBR can be faster than a lot of other armies, and the Petrifex Elite is very tanky on objective.
The 36 Squig Herd should have been split into 24 and 12. Use the 24 Squig Herd to bomb the enemies in an Alpha strike to lock them down while the 12 Squig Herd move toward the flank to threaten your opponent.
The once-a-game Squigboss ability affects all Squig Herds, so you can move both units really far.
Not sure was it good to have double indomitable, and neither King Gitz and Clammy Hands was taken, which I think it’s the greatest ability of this army.
The 40 Stabbas would be better as Shootas. Chip damage on the Gothizzar Harvester adds up and can help.
Or better, 2 units of Grots, 20 Stabbas, 20 Shootas.
There is really zero advantage to reinforce them, they are just meat shield.
Anyway based on what is being played the Hand of Gork should had been on the Stabbas to block the whole OBR army from moving up. Skragrot wouldn’t had die if the unit of 40 grot spread out enough to prevent the charge.
Being patient on the Mangler was great but same could had been done on the Boingrot. If the Boingrot had the buff from Squigboss + Loonboss, they will be doing a lot more damage.
If you had the Sporesplatta Fanatics things might be a little better.
Against Petrifex Elite OBR a Gobbapalooza is almost a must.
After looking again at the both army list, it’s very tanky OBR list that can be beaten.
For the Gitz I would remove the Loonboss with Cave Squig, the Loonboss on Mangler Squig and Loonsmasha Fanatics, spilt the Stabbas and Squig Herd into two units, add Gobbapalooza and Sporesplatta Fanatics, take Scuttletide Endless spell, take another Boingrot Bounderz and Squig Herd.
That will put you at 1975, even more likely to get Triumphs.
But having many MSU needs King's Gitz + Clammy Hand for 93.75% of getting back 1 unit each turn, turning the army into 2500 points.
Btw a unit of 5 Boingrot Bounderz when fully bluffed (Loonboss all-out-attack, Nasty Poison, Yellow Lurka) does 3 average damage lesser than a fully buffed Loonboss on Mangler Squig against a 4+ save. Tested on aos-statshammer.herokuapp.com/.
370 for Mangler, 140 for Boingrot, o contest which is more efficient.
Anyway very good video, battle report and players! You guys are a cut above the rest when I compare the tons of AoS battle report out there.

I know Destruction loves to go for the 1-2 double turn but opening yourself up for a 2-3 double turn clapback makes it seem so risky. So go the lives of grots!

I used foam putty from Woodland scenics. I get the putty a little wet and then use a putty knife to lift it off the base to give it the peaks.

Prediction after turn 1: obr takes out the goblins in turn 2 and chips away at some other units and is left over extended and now surrounded. with that being said the squigs having high movement and bonuses to/on the charge cripples obr and goblins win. with the objectives bouncing around and a potential double from the gits its a very tall order for the obr
i was right for like 6 mins lol until the goblins and bounders immediately un-surrounded obr, great game as always these batreps are 10/10

When he retreated the goblins and bounders I was like “what are you doing???” I thought the whole point of coming around the back and killing Arkhan was because you couldn’t get punished for it. Maaaan if Ik he was going to bail out of that tactic I would’ve gone obr all day 💀
@@evangannon8118 yeah the bounders retreating was a bad decision in hindsight, i think we was going to try a double charge for the mortals but got double turned if im not mistaken. Definitely did not work out his way. You are the guy that predicted the last game perfectly arent you?
@@claysimpkins7490 without a doubt which isn’t a terrible idea but it was a turn late. if he had somehow gotten them in then retreated and doubled it would’ve been great but by the time they retreated obr had the ability to double back and sadly an unlucky situation to fall into. They also said the Maggotkin and the Fyreslayers are trash when the book came out. Just play what you like and show those guys how strong you are with your choice.
I have won a few games with my Hedonites of Slaanesh vs tournament lists. Slaanesh is bottom tier atm but if you know your army you can still win. Maybe not at a GT but in good games with great people.
Another AOS game decided by double turns. That rule is a blight on the game. I love your battle report style and narration.
It is exactly the opposite from what you are saying. Gitz to take the double was absolutely dumb, let alone he piloted the army really badly. The defeat was all on him.

Couldn't agree less even if I wanted to.. Roll to decide is absolutely the best part about AOS, and if it's completely removed (could maybe be changed for the better, who knows) I would have a really hard time enjoying the game.
The priority roll this game had little impact, as nearly always it had little to no impact, skill did (80% cus pros go 80%): Mangler unengaged, skrak in shooting range etc. pls dont blame a mechanic you might not understand
