Close game. Double turns are something I'm never able to decide if I like or not. On the one hand, it certainly can make a game more exciting, on the other, they often take a player from a recoverable position to crippled.

One of the most exciting battle report in some time! Was a blast, loved seeing the multiple GCs. Shame they don't feel even more impactful but they might get imbalanced at that point. Looking forward to the next battle report.
I'm going to say this before I watch the game... I honestly think that including a Slann in a Coalesced army is a mistake, there are better uses for the points, especially in Koatl's Claw lists. Now, let's watch Ridge prove me wrong 🤨
So, post battle. Not sure what to say. Ridge played a valiant game but Archaon and Varanguard are so cheesy it was always gonna be an uphill struggle. Not sure what Ridge could've done tactically otherwise and I'm not even sure replacing the Slann with more bodies would've done much against all that armour and the massive beatstick that is Archaon.

Yeah, it was a tough one just knowing I would have to go first and not do much with it, had i got that second +1 to save on the warriors T1 it would have helped tremendously. Also, if I won T2 Prio I think it probably would have went the other way with all those knights and Carno, which many matchups are so dependant on T2 Prio.
I have to disagree with you on the Slann though! He is an absolutely integral piece in every Seraphon list and provides so so much value I could never imagine not having him.

Your list as inspired me to run a similar list but with a Exalted Champion Tzeentch Marked with Arcane Tome with Idolator Lord and a unit of 10 Tzeentch Marked Chaos Knights instead of the gargant, Sorcerer Lord.
With only two units of Varanguard at my disposal I hope I have the output to deal the punch KoTET is known for.

The only thing I don't understand is the Stormcast on the piece of terrain....is he garrisoned there or is this just a "hill" ? How does fighting from a "hill" work anyway?

Don’t know if it has been mentioned but roar doesn’t prevent inspiring presence because it goes away at end of combat phase before battle shock happens
Yep, Archaon has an ability that turns off inspiring presence and rally within 12"

Prediction after turn 1: the chaos giant solos the entire seraphon army and both armies in the next batrep…all seriousness unless the slaves roll like complete trash in the next round the games over and slaves win this one lol, with the front lines completely opened up I’d send archaon into the slann and the healthiest unit into the knights. This leaves the next hero phases for the lizards at almost nothing and even if by a miracle the seraphons general kills Archeon he’s still left in the middle of the table surrounded by some of the heaviest hitting units in the game
Absolutely fantastic game as always lol to quote an old friend in the hobby there are 2 types of close games, close in strength and close in points 😂 bravo to ridge for holding on that long but idk if I’ll ever forgive him for killing off the chaos giant he was destined for greatness
Also I completely forgot that the guard were in the temple lol wouldn’t have made that part of the prediction if I had opened up my eyes 😂
In StD army if you are using Archaon and have Chaos Sorcerer Lord as General, can you put them all in Battle Regiment Battalion? How does this work?
Yep, no problem at all, you can fit Archaon in as a commander & the sorc Lord as a sub-commander!
Ridge how are you feeling now after this match about the point changes to Seraphon.. Too heavy handed or still ok?
Yeah the points changes deffo hurt, but I think it was needed. This wasn't the best list, I just wanted to bring the warriors back out. They are still just not good enough (they're so close) and being high drop with no shooting or other ways to do ranged MW's hurts.
If I was playing a better Thunder Lizard list, with an engine and basty's etc. it would have been a more interesting game!
Pretty sure the Varanguard at 15min . can't activate if they are not within 3". Could be wrong

Ridge can't do united offence because you can't contest an objective with 2 gcs in this battle plan.
2 even if you tie in points. Since ridge dropped a battle tactic and std did not. They would get a minor victory.
That is a very good point! Definitely overlooked the Battleplan and was scrambling for a tactic. And of course yes, it would have been a minor, but tie on points and that would have been amazing for the state I was in after T2. Thanks! Great catch and good to know for the future ;)
What weapons are his units and leaders using?
Second, are the Saurus knights using only a standard bearer or do they have a wardrummer too?
Third, how do I add endless spells in the AoS app?
In the army creator app, you have to go the filter page and add endless spells then hit filter
Celestite Blades for the knights, Celestite Clubs for the Warriors (in GV batallion), and there is a wardrummer in there as well, yes

Edit: does the saurus warriors have a wardrummer or was it the knights who has one? I saw now that one of the warriors had a drum so I got confused

Yeah honestly when you see Archaeon you need to figure out how to just muddle him up somehow, or he'll rampage everything.
Do you kick puppies before you roll your dice in warhammer games? I dont watch all your content, but i never seen someone so consistantly getting smashed by his dice.

It was largely the mission. Let's Galatian champions auto capture objectives, and seraphon had four of them dancing around, snagging battle tactics, and chipping wounds here and there!
Did you use filament or resin printer for terrain?

Does anyone else feel like we're getting back to that (bad, IMO) place where T2 priority is once again becoming more and more pivotal to the way games go? Fewer objectives more centrally located mean that stuff is dying in droves even from T1, fewer incentives to go 2nd aside from the two battleplans where it really matters tends to mean there's less reason to consider giving it away...it seems like pretty much everything is pushing things in the same direction.
