Just a quick thing, you can't all out attack or defense with the raider's hidden volley since it happens in the movement phase
Good call - thanks for pointing that out!
Playing beasts is not easy, been playing them alot and for me best strat is playing for points, get ahead early, and control the flow of combat. They seem like a hyper aggressive army but their not. A good player will know to castle well against ambush and giving BoC priority going into turn 2 can really go bad for us especially if we get double turned. With the Allherd subfaction, if your going to run that sub faction bring alot of gors/ungors. Reinforcing a gor unit of 20 with shields as a wall is a good screen to protect bullgor, 2 units of ungors for capturing flank objectives. Also if I'm being honest I'm not a fan of ungor raiders maybe if you brought 100 lol, but 10 even 20 aren't going to be of much help I would suggest bringing a cygor instead just for unbinds, eating endless spells, good melee damage and that awesome rock. A side note with BoC heroes, none of them are tanky and they do not fight well, with exception of the Beastlord (but he can't take damage), they are more utilized as support units meant to be in the back. I know it's weird and not what you would expect but the Doombull's only purpose is to carry the slither rack helm, use tunnel master stay about 6'' away from your bullgor and use his command ability to charge in on any unit charging into your bullgor's and putting strike last on to them. That's a good trick to protect your 9 bullgor when they get counter charged, mix in Belakor and/or a brey shaman with viciouse strangle thorns (target unit can't pile in until your next hero phase) and you'll see your opponent will have a much harder time dealing with Bullgors. BoC function well when they are together and less so when you charge them in all alone and unsupported. Hope this helps.
This is great advice. Big agree that BoC looks like an aggressive army but aren't best played as one. I think they're secretly a Control army - don't tell anyone. I've often heard that you don't take the double turn unless it wins you the game, I think this applies to aggressive ambushing. Unless your opponent really gives you an opening and you can break their back it can be better to take up strong board position and force your opponent into your screens. Ambush is a tool to project threat boardwide, control and gain perfect knowledge of your opponents deployment.
As someone struggling with getting his head around playing and learning BoC, this post has been tremendously helpful. Thanks a bunch!
I loved the priority tactics that you two were playing in this game. Great examples of when to NOT take the turn even when you win it.
Those Corvus Cabal look sick!
awesome to see the BoC army on the table, cant wait to see more of them (and more skaven ofc)
Really like this STD list and the way they play! Thank you for the show, great job!
Loving the BoC content more of that. The names are a cool touch.
Best of luck at Worlds!! Thanks for the great report!!
This was a great one guys, thanks a lot. Darkwalkers was definitely the play I think, I don't see a world where Allherd is useful unless you've got big blocks of Gors with shields.
Just FYI for Worlds: You can not score Cunning Manoeuvre on Battlelines Drawn 😉
Why would that be? In the battleplans it says that the quarters are counted as objectives for battle tactics.
@@rub3nbalou it’s ruled as such on Worlds because there is an FAQ saying that an objective on the border is not considered wholly outside of your territory. Technically every table quarter is on your home territory border, resulting in none of the table quarters being wholly outside of your territory.
Love the bat rep, just a reminder to use the mics whenever you can though so it improves sound qual 😊
I was thinking Darkwalkers would've been better for that list, but I guess the 9-block was the aim!
Don't worry bulls, we'll get em next time
My contribution for this great project!
Thanks so much for the support - gonna name a Dragon Ogor in your honor! :D
@@SeasonofWar sounds great!
Brothers fight! Yesss!
I would expect that the errata in this mission make it so that the relic that makes the opponent's models not count on the objective would not work, it's an "ability", isn't it?
Great game! The Corvus Cabal are missing in the list overview for STD. I wonder how you fit six battlelines in one Battleregiment? Does the unit of 6 Varanguard counts towards a leader? The app doesnt let me put them there :(
Yeah if you make them the general in KotET they gain the Leader battlefield role (note that they don't become a hero, so no enhancements for the unit).
Probably a bug in the app.
Hey, are Points for holding objectives awarded after each players individual turn or only after the complete battleround?
Each players individual turn!
And the boc were never seen again
Are you running the bullgors with great axes or paired weapons?
Great Axes!
Loved this one!
What is the model used for the Doombull? Looks great
Zealot miniatures minotaur general but I think there's an etsy you can order them from as well but I can't remember.
0:24 look at this handsome guy äh goat
XD
Just wondering who made your gaming table?
I made it myself!
Did you missplay the MWs on the charge for the bullgors? It should be unit to unit not model to model and 2+ rerolling
nope, that's exactly how we did it!
Let them fight!!!
You still get to roll eye of the gods for killing heroes with arcane bolt so no risking Lust for Power there. ;)
Question guys, why did S2D got 2 heroic actions?
Not exactly sure the point in the episode that you're referring too, but in this current GHB the player going second can use two heroic actions on their turn.
@@drums4life5 thanks mate, I was not aware of that and that clarifies the issue.
It has to be issued by a Galletian Champion to get two heroic actions tho
Should varanguard be limited to 1 unit max?, they seem pretty absurd
They're a strong unit for sure - but do have some notable downsides, the army is pure combat so can struggle to deal with screen or other things that can tie them up!
So are BoC still that cruddy? Lol
BoC, IMO, are in a bad spot atm. They're too elite for what they do and are a shadow of their previous book - even before the WD.
There's no denying 6-9 bulls hit like a freight train, They're just sooo glass and so expensive it's really hard to get them working for you in a losing game.
There's no outs in the army. Its a real shame.
As you say at the end, darkwalkers is solid. It's probably the only subfaction to play atm with this kind of list
