A big “thank you” goes out to Games Workshop for sending us free models and books for their games, some of which may be included in this video. - Hry
The greatest grandfather blesses the greater good with his gifts! 🤢🤮💚
My casual 40k friend group 100% uses the 10pt paint bonus. It's a reward for spending the time painting and helps encourage us to do it even when not confident in our skill level. Everyone's improved a lot because of it
Great battle! I fully agree that running 2x6 crisis blobs with a coldstar each is a rather boring way to play tau. it's a bit sad that it's the most efficient way to play tau and I hope that our codex next spring will give us more varied ways of play instead of spamming cyclic ion blasters.
As an aside: with the last dev commentary, daisy-chaining for the greater good is no longer allowed. once a unit has shot it is no longer eligible to shoot and so cannot observe for something else.
The whole point of the helbrute is that long range contagion delivery, should have at least one weapon with range.
That's exactly what I was thinking, I usually take one with missile launcher + twin-linked lascannon, The frag profile of the missile launcher makes hits MUCH easier, with a 48 inch range
Were do you find those rules ? I swear I never read that in my codex lol. Same with these new wicked contangions like -1 ws - bs So if Death Guard got these awsome buffs were do people read these new rules if its not in the latest codex ?
There was an update within the past few months, it is a separate PDF on the games workshop site
I like using Plasma cannon with fist, it's great for blast against elite troops
Love the idea, "if they wanted to live, they would have rolled better dice". 😂
Last game I played with Death Guard, I managed to eke out a draw because we used the painted army bonus.
Luka playing DG, so his dice rolling should even out the weakness of the faction vs Tau. Should be a fun batrep.
Great battke report. I really like 1500 points for your battle reports.
Terrain was a little light, but didn't impact the battle too much.
Only impactful error I noticed was thr psthfinder observing after theu shot, but you could have done things in a different order to avoid this issue.
The stormsurge is a big point sink, particularly in 1500 points. I feel 3 broadsides and a skyray woukd probably have been best. Tau can't split fire well with the penalties to split firing when guided which really impacts thr stormsurge.
I dont play with the painted army bonus because the friends I play with all use my armies which are all painted :)
with an army rule that punishes split firing the stormsurge seems mostly pointless since half it's guns are anti-tank/large and the rest are anti-infantry.
it's ability is that it can ignore any/all modifiers to hit, this means it can actually completely ignore the debuff to split firing from the army rule and keep the benefits if you use it right
@@Legendary_Kobold a modifier to hit is different to a modifier to a characteristic, the army rule modifies the BS characteristic not the hit roll.
good battle. I love seeing Luca play Death guard!
Go! Go! Death Guard! All 5' per move ;)
Was it just me or did you have a total of 12 models in your chaos rhino ? 2 squads of 5 plague marines and those 2 other special characters in it ? Im noob so Id love if someone pointed out what im thinking wrong here lol. Thanks guys ! Wicked armies and game.
Rhinos can carry 12 models in 10e.
Man this Tau army is such a rainbow mix, rather than a theme. Ironically that fits into your question, but the answer is no the Painted Army bonus should only come into play if one side brings unpainted to the table, Warhammer is an army strategy TTRPG not an art show.
Good draw on the secondary getting investigate signals given how much going first didn't help the Death Guard with their meh range.
Man so much units blowing themselves up turn 1.
Tau player probably did play too aggressive for the low model count they brought, and ended up letting way too many models die without doing much. Death Guard also seemed to have got far better secondary luck, while the Tau player got Secondaries that forced them to do unoptimal things.
Why did you roll 12 dice on the hazardous check? in 10 its just 1 per hazardous weapon fired. Error from 9e holdover or a house rule keeping it as the old rules?
Fully admit i dont know one way or another but i have a question. Can the Stomrsurge charge in a round it anchored? Just seems to me you shouldnt be able to but like i said i dont know one way or another.
stormsurges no longer anchor, they just have [heavy] on most of their weapons instead.
You don't have to bring in from reserves on turn 3 anymore to keep units alive they can come in any time during the battle. So more strategy for later game. Keep up the great vids guys love the content.
You can't unfortunately. It is in the leviathan mission pack.
Core rules make it so if they start they they do. They can return and redeploy but by end of turn three if they start there
Around minute 50, the tau player activated stimm injectors, then never rolled any FNPs?
I believe they caught this a few minutes later and just refunded the CP

where the 10 points for army being painted
Yeah kets call em painted
I wish he would say how many points each army is
1500
Either this was a video to showpiece the Tau or youre playing on Planet Bowling Ball!..... Where the hell is the terrain at? !
All this showcased for Tau was another example of how the scoring, especially secondary system massively screws over Tau even when they have shooting lanes, and how much their special power not kicking in until turn 3 is too big a massive disadvantage, since you either have to turtle and lose on score or get aggressive and lose your army, so Kayoun is ineffective.
Wow 446K views and on 336ish likes. Where is the love guys?
End of turn 2 could you have pilled in fight then closer to objective and then consoledate 3 inch got all in range of objective also hate tau
tau cringe
I. Hate. Tau.
Commie fish to the rescue?
