Does this CSR make you want a 997 with these mods or would you prefer a GT3?
Normal manual Carrera S or a GT3 .. cant go wrong but not a csr
GT3 Touring for me
GT3
Hmmm, I love this. Have had both 997.1 and.2 but GT3 for me please..
Have they removed oil system flaws? I would just get 997.2 or any 997 GT/Turbo.
Funny, I recently had the thought "why doesn't someone "singer" a 997" but without a completely ridiculous price tag and going way over the top with performance numbers. Give me a 997 S with a stick and just tighten it all up, some hp, exhaust, refresh the interior etc. Lovely.
More the Magnus Walker look myself.
Why didn't you think to yourself "hey, everything that's been done to this is inherently not special, not bespoke, and has probably been done to several 911s by owners with deep pockets who like simple modifications"
There's an inordinate amount of cars that have this level of detail put into them by owners who take them to one or several shops and iron out the looks, feel, and performance to make it their "own". The fact that you and so many other fanboys are just drooling over a quite simply mundane (in terms of complexity and originality) car is just laughable. Guess anything with the right journalist at the wheel will have the plebs sold.
@@aiGeis This is what I was thinking the whole time. All of the modifications can be sourced and done independently for much less, likely.
@@aiGeis Is there something wrong with appreciating the car? It's looks incredible, it's cohesive in design and style, and it's very much to my taste. Doesn't matter to me who made it or how much it is, I appreciate it. If I see some other one like this that was done by some individual for his personal use, I'd appreciate that too.
But without a CF body and insane price tag, it's not a Singer!
This was filmed in February 2020, prior to the UK's nationwide lockdown.
Thanks for reminding us you are living in fear:)
Precaution isnât fear
@@computerhelpcc this is not responsible thinking
People on their own in car are risk
Please try to think without govt controlling your programmed mind
@@popsbubbles1242 is that what you really meant to say? Think you should have added are not a risk?
@carfection you filmed it last week! đ
It's great how they concentrated most of their efforts on improving the car from a technical standpoint instead of playing much with the looks.
Gabor Csuzdi, I agree but still think it looks ace
Yeah looks pretty stock overall, even the wheels looks classy đđŒ
This this an appearance package with bolt ons... Bespoke means you can pick colors and which parts they will buy to put on?
This is turning out to be the best channel for car lovers. Every car nerd should watch the bids out here! They are a thing of beauty
It was already good before when they were xcar but with the addition of Henry, it's getting better and better
At this point, more like Porsche lovers.
It's for sure one of them. Very enjoyable, and one of only a few that I'll watch at workđ
Famous last words
Ohh Henry.... Its bloody bloody good to hear your voice talk Porsche again!
I wanted to say a special Thank You to Henry and Charlieđ„°
You guys do an amazing job behind the scene and help to make this show what it is. Your program is simply the best on anything Cars and is very special to me.
Thank you for all your hard work!

Now this is an instant classic
Something that brings back the good olâ days
I love the look and feel of the 997 and often wondered why it wasnât modded. Great looking car! Great commentary mate! đđ»
What a wonderful video. Thank you for posting and sharing your passion with us.
I love how this has given the older car a new life. Brilliant! Great review as always.
I love Carfection. Always quality content and never offends. Good job again.
Henry + Porsche= Perfection. An what a combination. The 997 is truly an enthusiast's secret and this is the crown jewel. Spectacular as always Henry.
997 is perfect in every aspect, my fav generation
I love the video reviews of cars that Henry does, it became clear when I just started to read the evo magazine.
I agree. He is one of the best car journalists of the last 30 years or so.
Beautiful and a little understated design with lots of details true to Porsches heritage. Breathtaking car !
Great Video as usual, awesome car! Carfection reigns supreme.
Just fantastic these Porsche enthusiasts. And those wheels are lovely. As is the gear lever and the ducktail spoiler on the engine lid.
Awesome vid thanks guys! đ„đđ»
You know itâs going to be a great video as soon as you hear Henry đ
The car looks beautiful in that paint and I love combo of green and those bronze coloured like wheels. The cinematography of your videos is 60 percent of the reason that I watch them and his voice and the British accent makes for a sort of majestic feel which i love.
Perfect car and perfect drive to get out and drive in self quarantine
My favourite generation of 911
I always liked the 997s. This one is very tastefully done. The seats, the wheel, the shift knob, the ducktail. Perfect.
Another amazing reinterpretation of the 911
Beautiful video and comments from Henry
Great vid, and darn it youâve got me Iâm heading out unplanned in my 997.2 4S in these crazy Covid days. The car has 3 mods only, HRE P1, Akrapovic Titanium exhaust and some better slightly lower springs that really improved the ride (to me anyway). Stay safe, from a Montreal.
Great car, great review. It's so good to see you smiling out of sheer joy from driving this car, Mr. Catchpole, makes me want to get one of these Porsches myself... Yeah... even a modified 996 would make sense... It's not the power that's important for me, it's the joy and pleasure you get out of it.. Great stuff.. Thanks!
Motor journaling at its finest! thank you! Love the doo too.
Very cool car, but it sure would be tempting to start with a 997.2 to get the better non-IMS engine and handful of other upgrades
Always loved the 997 Gt3. Got to love a duck tail! Great video, again.
Does anyone else get their ASMR hit from Carfection? The attention to audio quality doesn't go unnoticed chaps đ
Absolutely gorgeous, I love the Green and Gold!
Motor journalists all seem to jump in a modern Porshce and say they've cracked the electric power steering now, there is great feel and its as good as the hydraulic systems they were struggling to match for feel. They then jump in a hydraulically power steered car and say this steering is so much better than modern cars...
Gosh I just love how long each shot is held for in this video; really makes for pleasant viewing!
Inside jokes aside, another beautifully shot and narrated upload. Fabulous car too!
Love the spec's!!!
The 997 is already a classic, what a car...
Great review of what's probably the last analog 911.
We came to the same conclusion on our 997 video review.
Manual drive is like a strong bond between man and machine, I fallen in love with this baby â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž From India đźđł
Very tasteful mods! The 997 combines a modern feeling with analog tech like no other 911 before and after, that's why I like it
Quite expensive yet motivates the rest of us with âold modernâ 911 to keep replacing all the rubbery bits despite the inconvenience. Regular upkeep aside, the improvements to tires in the past 20 years is an enhancement itself.
??? Why would You not replace the "rubbery bits" ?? đ€
M. Sund PLENTY of used sports car owners simply wonât bother as the labor cost is 4-8x costs of parts.
The best motoring journalist bar none. Personable, intelligent and fluent, without an intrusive regional accent.
Brewster green. What a color. Great video, Henry!
Im sure the 997, especially the .2, will become a very sought after classic. Last gen with the hydraulic steering, almost last with NA Carrera and somehow just more raw than its successors.
Henry your porsche videos are the best !!!
Great video Henry. If youâre planning more videos like this (and the M3 video recently) I have a car you may be interested in. Itâs a 997 Turbo rebuilt time GT2RS spec, upgraded engine, suspension. Set up by Tech 9 with Ohlins, Centre lock conversion, RS wheels. All carbon wings, bonnet etc. I have video of different phases also. How do I contact you directly?
^ just clicked on your channel; really good content. Nice Porsche also.
Duse Im subscribed to u
eSysman your GT2RS is really much more than the snakebite. They need to review yours! Cheers.
So interesting to see one of my favorite yacht channels commenting on one of my favorite car channels...đ€Ł...always wanted to know more about your porsche...
Yes please!!!!
CSR...mad respect.
Great video. I love my 997.1.
Yes, I'd love a 997, though a gen 2 with some wheels closer to a Fuchs style than the HREs here. It's the profile change on the rear lights that does it for me, it makes the rear look slightly more dynamic and sets it further apart visually from the 996.
Awesome!
Love my Mezger '07 997.1 911TT with a few engine mods, now putting out about 620HP. A thrill every time I get behind the steering wheel.
That interior looks luscious

Catchpole is hands down, the best automotive documenter around. The man could be driving a reliant robin and it wouldn't matter. Another beautifully done video guys-
Carfection deserves a Netflix / tv series.
love that shifter
Beautiful car and a beautiful video
They always make amazing looking and fast driving cars.đ
Love it, gorgeous build. I have a 997.1 3RS and would welcome this to sit alongside. I would go for a period mustard paint, fast road set up and ideally try to obtain a GT3 engine to base the build on and make it a bit softer ride to a GT3. Weekend North Wales mobile and rear seats would be a must with the family.
There's a 997 Carrera S for sale that I've been watching for ÂŁ24k. It's pretty much spot-on for what I value in a car and doesn't break the bank. My only issue is it doesn't have a place for a mountain bike and I own a Clio 182 for ragging around at weekends. I know the Porsche is in a different league to it but when you own a car that puts a smile on your face everytime you drive it and costs peanuts to run its hard to justify swapping to a Porsche like this. Crazy respect to these guys for making the 997 even more appealing to drivers but being strapped for cash makes this a dream... Great video Henry as always
Good stuff!
Interior & exterior are perfect finesse đ
Nice job Henry!
Gorgeous car, love the color!!
997 is my favorite modern 911. I think history will remember it as a very mechanical car
Most elegant 997 I've seen! Still, my heart belongs to GT3 RS 4.0 đ
That car is like Porsche's version of an M3 CSL. A generational Holy Grail.
Agreed, my favorite Porsche of all time
@Joel Schembri Yeah the gearbox was a dissapointment. I would definitely do that if I had a CSL
Lovely looking car
Sounds fantastic :)
Fantastic vid Henry! Makes me miss my .1 997, albeit borescore in mind etc.
Lovely car, Iâd have both GT3 and thisđ
Love the steering wheel.
This is a great film in all ways. Very well played.
Love it đđŒ
Very tastefully done.
Great car, B4560 is a great road..... and Henry, doesnât get much better đđ»
Hmm! Now that is a bloody lovely car!!
Admittedly the price comparison to a 997 GT3 is a rather imposing elephant in the room, but just taken by itself..., so desirable!
Love the aesthetic choices both inside and out
Thanks for showing us this car Henry
Priceless quip on the snakebite drink reference! Leaving you with a deep sense of regret haha!!
These are petrol head dreams with this content, such an amazing job showcasing unique automobiles. Top of my list as of late in the realm of car videos. I agree on those wheels, my dream build would have the P111SC Frozen Dark Clear. :)
Nice video,cool car.
It's Perfect, it's everything that I wanted to do to my 997 including color.
The 997 is the ânextâ 993 in value.. so take one before the price rise to the sky! And in addition is (per my experience) one of the best 911 ever (nice looking and better performance), by the way If you get one get it manual! đȘđ»
I just did! With 997.1 C2 manual 3.6 with Carrera Sport 19 inch wheels, Ohlins Coilovers, GT3 short shifter, lightened flywheel, stainless aftermarket sport exhaust (not PSE), ducktail spolier, sill graphic "Carrera", in GT Silver. Then broke my ankle 2 days later so hardly driven. Yet. 10-12 weeks no driving manual car :(. Main concern is future bore scoring - but the car is so special that I'd do a rebuild. That engine sounds SO much better than the DI in the 997.2.
awesome!!
This has got me wanting those HRE wheels on my 997.2 4S!
You have a wonderful car sir đ
Nice car. I had a 997.1 c2s and loved it. Great car and was a blast to drive and was a perfect daily driver. The GTS or Turbo 6 speed 997 are the models to get or swing for the fences in a GT3. Last hydraulic steering and perfect size. The 997 will be a future classic.
Your shifts are so satisfying...
â€ïž it! đđż
A "bit" out of my Budget I guess, but a beautiful car. Great Video Quality like always on the Carfection Channel! Super entertaining to watch. THX
Buy a cheap 911 for ÂŁ15000 or ÂŁ20000 and send it for work and you will have something like the car in the video.
excellent video Henry. yes, 997 every time. and just keep piling the miles until you get to 1million miles
Wonderful Spec.
Hello guys, your footage looks great! Thank you for making those great videos.
Can you tell us which cameras do you use? Is your series high production stuff or not?
sublime machine.... analog pure petrol engine .... what a dream
In other words, the model is prefect!
Another great video and a lovely car but those roads,my god they look amazing, where are they ?
Just get the 991 Touring add a full exhaust system, and you get the best 911 built by the best modifier âPorsche GT Divisionâ
I use CSR products on my 987 boxster, very high quality and right prices. CSR is efficiency and good looking combined together.
very nice to see, thats certainly looking & sounding like a true drivers car
Very passionate video! Luv it
What a glorious car but itâs a bit pricey đł nicely presented Henry đđ»
OE Sport Design steering wheel as per RS 4.0 and itâs just about perfect
I own a 997S and I love it - I'll need to clone mine as the 911CSR - already have the GT3 front
Just when I get out of a 997 into a 991 they become trendy again. I do agree they are the perfect sized car, loved every mile in my 2.
@carfection @HenryCatchpole Great video, as usual, on a great car. You are living the dream.
Off topic: Your Speedmaster: did you go for hesalite or sapphire crystal? Inquiring car/driving/watch nerds want to know!
This 997 is sooo beautiful.
That steering wheel is perfect
For me, Brewster Green is the go to color on a 911. It looks soooo good.
The car is gorgeous. You could probably adjust your suspension so that it doesn't lose rear traction every time you go around a corner.
