    Tommy, another great video! I followed your lead on the short shifter mod which is kick ass. I've been wondering about this spacer mod. Back in my early car days, wheel spacers were frowned upon as the cheap way to add wider wheels on your hot rod. They were sold through discount houses such as Warshawski's or JC Whitney and were very crudely made. However, I see how much improvement it makes on our Cayman's and with the precision/quality level of the manufacture, I'm sold!

      I’m glad this was helpful! Yes wheels spacers have come a long way. Very high quality products and they make the car look a bit more aggressive.

    Wow looks super good! Looks like your tires on the driver side are backwards. The water channels on the edges are pointing towards the front.

      They’re not directional. Just outside versus inside

    Nice look. I always ran spacers on my E46 ZHPs. I'm considering 8mm front and 12mm rear but would want PPF on the panels just behind the wheels (and maybe in front of the rears). I'm not a flapper! ;-0

  • @hevendranarayansamy2793

    The wheel poke does look good. Well done. Did the handling change much?

    Glad to see your improvements on the 981. You touched an interesting topic: Different wheel spacers between axles and its impact on geometry and dynamics is a question I’ve been having for quite some time and I can’t find an answer. People just throw whatever gives better stance and that’s all. Any input on why we should keep same wheel spacers size all round apart from keeping factory geometry dimensions between axles?

    • @TommyLGarage
      @TommyLGarage  Před 3 lety +1

      It just makes sense in my head. I think turn-in would be affected if wheels were spaced out differently.

    • @twilighter7
      @twilighter7 Před 3 lety

      @@TommyLGarage I’m with you in that. Unless you need clearance (brake calipers or suspension) I don’t see any good reason to mess with OEM specs and tolerances by going with different wheel spacer’s size. Keep up the good work on the Cayman. PS - making holes in a Porsche dashboard? You’re brave 😅

    Should have switched to studs in the process! Why no anti-sieze between the spacer and hub?
