Here's a meaningless but nice piece of trivia. Geoffrey Hutchins, who plays Sid also starred with Michael Gambon in Maigret. If you watch the first episode of the second series - which also features Minnie driver and Michael Sheen - There is a scene in a bar where an extra is drinking - played by Adam Godley - who plays Kenneth in this production.
they also made out the Bresslaw played characters in the carry on films that were actually played by Terry Scott and Bernard Cribbins

It's not ronnie kray's wife. Her husband was Ronnie Knight. She knew the Krays though
Ah yes... the lovely Margaret Nolan... they've even got the look and sound of her accurate too. That said.... I know Sid James was originally from South Africa but I always thought he sounded more cockney than the American one I've heard so far.
it shows Sid warned off "Mrs. Knight" but no mention of his flat being absolutely trashed by(allegedly) Ronnie Knights friends Kray Twins associates

it's a fairly entertaining piece of work. BUT it makes me angry at the same time. Sid james just as much of a lecher in real life, maybe but not on set caravans full of women bullshit. Bernard bresslaw talking just like his carry on camping character he was a very well spoken guy. I know it's all to entertain but it's so far from the truth it's not real. I
