- Bulldozers are up on the fringes of Happy Doggo land and clearing the land near where the "introverts" live.
We also have a new guest on the land, an old dog named Booboo. The lady who looks after him thinks she's been taking care of him for 20 years! Unfortunately, he's been hit by something big, he is in bad shape and can't feel his bad legs. He also has an eye problem and open wounds. He's having a tough time-and we're going to give him all the comfort and dignity he deserves.
We talk about what we can do as a dog rescue for him and other street dogs, our challenges and some solutions.

You are so right: this could be an amazing opportunity. You never know who's gonna move into those homes and maybe support your dogs. I think of how sick you were in the hospital and now you walk maybe 1000 dogs a day and even run with them. You're doing great and you never know what will turn up. I know from experience - What can seem like the worst thing can actually turn out to be the best thing. I'm sure that busy mind of yours - along with the connections with people you have already made - will develop into something good. You do holy eork and we can all see it. Rock on! Xo

Man can definitely be greedy wanting to destroy beautiful Mother Nature in the name of building. It’s heartbreaking but it happens all over the world. Thank goodness for the people who rescue and care and give their love, time, compassion and money to help the voiceless, defenseless and innocent animals. Without them, there would be no hope. 🐾
What are you talking about!? You live in a house, and the land was destroyed to build your house. Same with the roads you drive your car on. And the city you live in; etc.

Im OLD. I've learnt many lessons and made many mistakes. Theres never a time when one can sit back complacently and think, "this is all perfect, nothing's going to change", because change is the one thing we can be sure of. But I've also learned that when one door closes, another will open. Im so sad your jungle is being desecrated, but there will be new opportunities just round the corner. Lots of love, brave one. 🙏🐾🐾🐾❤️🩹

I'll never forget Derek, I love Booboo, I know he will feel love and and be happy now no matter what happens from now on, he has pain relief, meals and good people around him. ❤

There are so many animals on the planet whose only ‘predator’ or danger, is the human. We really can be a dangerous lot. I am so sorry your jungle is shrinking, more humans and vehicles to put the animals at risk. However, I am sure you will come up with something to minimize the dangers, you are a very adaptable bunch of wonderful people! Good luck Niall! Xxx

Yeah I learn so much from the dogs on a daily basis. They can bounce back from anything and they live in the moment so thats the way I think now!

I am so sorry about these bumps in the road. I am disabled from a car accident in 97 and have had eons of bumps, drop offs, dead ends, ect. to deal with. I am so sorry that you are dealing with so much. I have learned nothing goes exactly as planned and with the love of family, my furry kids included, and friends everything can be dealt with. In the most heartbreaking times, it's love that gets you through. Love helps you persist. Love helps you grow. Sending you our Love to help you get through these difficult and trying times

So sad they’re digging up so much of the jungle. And it’s horrible thinking of how stressful every day is for you all. I was trying tho to think about a positive that’s come out of this, and I guess now that they’ve taken so much of the jungle away, it just lessen the risk of fire like you had to go through recently. I know Happy Doggo doesn’t have many volunteers, but an upside I can see is the possibility that future residents of these villas might have an interest in dogs, or experience with dogs. Wouldn’t it be great to have these people close by? I bet there are lots of potential buyers who would love to live close to a dog sanctuary, help out, and perhaps adopt a dog or two. I hope that’s not too pie-in-the-sky thinking, but it just occurred to me. In any case, thank you for telling the world about what you’re doing, and I’m glad you have so much support!

I don't think you are stupidly optimistic Niall. You can only control what you can control and that is looking after yourself and the dogs 🐕🐾🐾. Yes it is sad what has happened to the jungle but whatever is being built there should count themselves lucky to be living so close to your wonderful land and the plans for it. I've been chronically ill for many years and bed bound but every day I work on getting better and my dream is to one day visit Happy Doggo, once you are able to accept volunteers. You and your team are absolutely amazing 💙💙💙

It's awful that they're building on all the land but hopefully once the major work is done some peace will return. The fire a while back was massively worrying so hopefully this will offer some protection as a slight good point. The land with the introverts is a massive worry with how territorial they and other dogs can be
From the rescue dogs vision, you have given them hope, love and a place called home. They have never had that. Thanks to you being there for them. Yes, the peace is gone, but let's hope that you can work with the new neighbours to get them to buy into what you do and support your work. Write to them, create a website or direct them to it, invite them to come and see the work that you do. Fence in Hope, so the dogs are not poisoned. It's going to be more of a challenge with the solitary dogs in the jungle and that will be your biggest challenge to keep them safe.❤🐕❤

This reminds me of an interview I saw about Disneyland. Walt didn’t think to buy the land around and it became so big he couldn’t expand. I wish you this much success! That your organization gets so big and helps so many dogs that you can grow and help all the dogs. In the end it’s all just about helping others and finding self worth through that process and you’ve nailed it! Keep it up you’re doing great.
