Exciting News! Indian Railways' Sleeper Vande Bharat Trains: New Design Unveiled! 🦁
📅 On September 27th, a groundbreaking chapter was written in the history of Indian Railways as they officially signed the Manufacturing-cum-Maintenance Agreement (MCMA) with the Russian rolling stock giant TMH for the much-anticipated Sleeper edition of the Vande Bharat train.
🤝 The collaboration gave birth to 'Kinet Railway Solutions Limited,' a special purpose vehicle jointly formed by TMH, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), and Locomotive Electronic Systems (LES), a Russian equipment supplier. This entity is entrusted with the responsibility of manufacturing, supplying, and maintaining the Sleeper Vande Bharat trainsets operated by Indian Railways.
🎨 What's truly exciting is the unveiling of a brand-new design concept! The proposed livery features a captivating multi-colored scheme with the image of a lion embossed at its heart - a symbol of power, remarkable speed, and a nod to the uniqueness of these trains. This design is notably different from the one finalized by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF).
🌟 The interior design of the Sleeper Vande Bharat trains is also a departure from the norm, boasting a calm and elegant look that promises a delightful travel experience.
🚂 The first prototype of the Sleeper Vande Bharat is anticipated to roll out in 2025. While BEML is crafting the initial set for ICF, Kinet Railway Solutions has the creative freedom to craft its own Sleeper design.
🤝 The MCMA signing between Indian Railways and Kinet Railway Solutions marks a significant milestone. Kinet commits to delivering 120 Vande Bharat electric passenger sleeper trainsets within the stipulated timeframe, along with providing maintenance services for these sets over the next 35 years.
🤝 The shareholder agreement has already been inked for this joint venture, with TMH subsidiary-Metrowagonmash holding 70%, RVNL holding 25%, and LES holding 5% shares.
🌐 The Railways has awarded a contract for manufacturing a total of 200 Sleeper Vande Bharat trains. Of these, TMH-RVNL will produce 120, while Titagarh-BHEL will manufacture the remaining 80. The consortium of TMH-RVNL will assemble these trains at the railway facilities located in Latur.

This will be a landmark venture. As this will open up railways to Private players.. I personally felt the interior of vande Bharat was not being maintained up to the mark. I don’t blame the staff infact they were overburdened.. so yeah I feel creating joint ventures is the next step forward for Indian railways

bhai vande bharat is not even comparable to decades old japanese and chinese bullet trains, they can reach average speeds of 200 and top speed of 300 meanwhile vande bharat can barely run at average speed of 90 and top speed of 200, and comparing vande bharat to japanese and chinese Shanghai MAGLEV is a joke those trains reach about 431 kmph currently function for long distance travel and vande bharat is still only for maximum 4 hr travel time

wait, so is that mean making one set vande-bharat sleeper variant 4+ companies has to involve to do this? I mean there are many companies where it can make a whole set and it can make it effective way, why so much joint-ventures has to involve to make a set of vande-bharat. It's like making cabin one company has to decide, but making cabin's interior design separate company has to make it. Then we have a coach itself, that other company will make it, and it's interior design other company will make it with preference of their choices, and most important part it's electronics components that is also making by different companies? Can somebody explain it, or am I the one who's thinking wrong?

Currently trains are pretty good not bad actually. But please can government stricken rules. It was a nightmare to go to my village in eastern UP. I was just sitting at one place whole day without eating and going to bathroom. People were in bathroom also. They were Bihari mostly. Without ticket they carried big bags and drums. We had 5 tickets but still we had bad experience i mean really bad experience. Can we not allow ticketless people on train. I am talking about gorakhpur express. Mumbai to gorakhpur. Worst train to travel from Mumbai to UP is awadh express as its full of Bihari plus its takes longer time to complete journey. I had experience in awadh express its was really bad.

They need to lower the sides of the train to level up with the platform like Metro trains or Bullet trains. The gap between the train & the platform is too much, is an old design & is unnecessary.

Well vande sadharan express was named as amrit bharat express. And vande metro is in work which will connect distance of 100 km or less between cities or city and nearby areas.
Amrit bharat = Vande sadharan = Non ac version of Vande bharat
Vande saffron is nothing but new coloured vande bharat (maybe white was harder to maintain)
Vande Metro = suburban train version of Vande bharat (will be replacing mumbai local trains)
