Hi friends! I'm Jennifer, a fifty-something wife and mother of 7 children ages 10 - 26. We are Catholic. We homeschool. We cook from scratch. We farm cranberries. We drink coffee. We advocate for Down syndrome awareness. We are loud. We are chaotic.
Here I'll share vlogs about all these things, what I'm doing that works and what I've tried but didn't work. I hope to encourage you in your journey through motherhood, homeschooling, learning to cook, and growing in your faith through it all.

🔪HOME-COOKED Meals & Keeping My Fingers Crossed🤞 | Country Life Mom Vlog {full week}
Before we retired we grew popcorn on our farm in Indiana for Orville Redenbacher!!!
That’s so cool! We love popcorn 🍿
Wow! I live in Indiana.
I am in Indiana as well.
I’m in Indiana also!
Thank you guys so much for the hard work you put in growing cranberries. We as a society have nowhere near the appreciation we should for farmers who work so hard and are incredibly vigilant.
Well said! Thanks 😍
When I first started watching g you, Maria was a little girl, now look how big she has gotten. It’s lovely to see her grow to be such a nice young lady. 💙
Same here and I agree! What a lovely young lady!
Oh yum! I haven't had carmel popcorn since my grandmother was alive.
My kitchen aid hand mixer is 13 years old and still going strong. You will love Warrens choice for you Jennifer.
Mine is 22 years old the stickers are falling off. But it is still going strong.
Warren was right, the Kitchen Aid was the right call, and you deserve it!
Yes it was!
ALWAYS Enjoy the videos you share Jennifer....So Relatable and just Love lots of the Family values you and Warren instill!🤗😊🤗
I love watching you and your family in day to day happenings. You and Warren showing them how to do day to day things will be one of the best things to learn. You are creating wonderful memories for them too!
Thank you for sharing!!
Dessert with breakfast? Count me in! Joe will somehow know that you went to the Creamery without him, but I'm not tellin' :-) What a brave guy to play the piano in front of his peers for Talent Day; Maria's display was super impressive & I'm sure Peter's video was perfectly edited. Such talented kids! Btw I love my hand-me-down cookware & thanks to Warren, I'm even more appreciative of my 2008 SUV :-)
100 K for a new truck? It better come with 2 bedrooms and a bath!!!!😂
All your baked goods always look so yummy! I wish I could taste them right from your channel…but then again, maybe it’s good for my waistline that I can’t.😂
Thank you 😋 We don’t measure our waistline around here. 😁
I never realized how much work goes into growing cranberries until I started watching your channel. Gives one a better appreciation. I love loons! Their call is so relaxing at night.
Get the $30 kitchen Aide mixer better, Warren is right.
Whenever i make cornbread muffins in paper cups they stick a little bit too. Seems they get better as they sit and cool more. Doesnt effect the taste so thats a win.
Yes, that’s what happened. They peeled better the next day.
My Carmel corn never gets to the bake stage
Fascinating, hard-working cranberry farming!
I have watched You all Jennifer for 5 years now Your Family touches my Heart ❤️ sweet Friend God bless you all Cathy 🙏🏻✝️☮️📿🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂💐🌹🌺💜💝💗💙
Look at that beautiful view through your window of the rain !
You have such a nice husband and you are sweet as well Jennifer. I love your family. Beautiful people. I lost my husband of 43 years in 2019. Ya’ll remind me of us. Bittersweet ! Love your show !
I’m sure it’s difficult finding a new normal after all those years. I’m sorry for your loss. May perpetual light shine upon him.
I apply the hambuger in a thin layer directly on the tortilla shells then cook meat side down then flip. So much easier then smashing on the grill
Oh I loved the caramel corn being made with Pachelbel playing.
I just love these kinds of videos!
I’m so happy you all are enjoying this video. I’ll make more of these.
❤
Wow everyone loved the popcorn 🍿 I have no patience to make it. You are a great mom. I love being read to.❤
Thank you so much 🤗
I’m glad Warren talked you into the kitchen Aid.
Jennifer the peanut butter bars and the cranberry bundt cake both look so delicious! And so does the caramel corn! I really enjoy both of my cookbooks too! I just love them.
Kitchen Aid for sure!!! LOL..the two of you with the hand mixers...love your videos..
thank you for sharing all that you do..❤Barbara and Mike
I make caramel corn that has a can of sweetened condensed milk in it. You don’t bake it. It’s gooey yummy!
If Peter and Maria liked Swift Rivers, they will probably also like Hatchet by Gary Paulson, Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell, The Cay by Theodore Taylor, and Cold River by William Judson. All are Newberry winners and all are excellent adventure stories.
Hi Jennifer, Warren, Maria, and Peter. Thank you for producing another phenomenally good vlog. I agree, 💯, with Warren about the Kitchen Aid mixer. Everything about this gold standard mixer, especially the colour, means to Warren, and me that it was the obvious choice for you. Yummy cranberry cake, and chocolate swirl bars proves he made the correct choice 😊
God bless the Brockmans. 🎉🎉🎉
Oh, I have a bottom corner cabinet like that and I hate it! I'm getting too old to crawl in! 😯
I used to make caramel corn all the time. The baking soda is key in keeping it light. Now I'm hungry for it again.
Your vlogs make my time on the treadmill whiz by!! Thank you! My mom had that same pan, I wish I had it now!
Good for you exercising 💪
I agree. However, I am on a stationery bike.!
You all are amazing, Thank you for what you do on your farm ! For All of your hard work.
Thank you!
I finally made your peanut butter swirl bars to take to a spaghetti dinner, and they were a hit. I’ll definitely repeat that recipe
My mother passed away March 25th, she was 91, and had Alzheimer’s. She loved watching you cook, and seeing the kids. She really loved them and thought they were so sweet. You and your family gave her so much joy. Thank you. On another note, my grandsons live with me and pizza burgers are a go to for me when I’m in a hurry or want an easy meal. They love them.
Did you email me once sharing about your mom watching my channel? Sorry to hear she passed away. May she rest in peace.
@@acountrylife my sister emailed you. Thank you
Your such a lovely person ❤
Thank you for your great family videos! God bless!
I have a loaf pan just like your pan that was my grandma's! So glad you went with the Kitchen Aid mixer. You'll love it! ❤
In Hobby Lobby that is exactly where we end up everytime with my son.
Lol..our dates usually consist of tractor supply, atwoods and lowes..😁😁
I read that all of a kind family when I was a kid… It was one of my favorite books and there’s more than one… I know there’s like one of a kind family downtown or something like that… It’s been so long. I don’t remember, but you should look and see if you can find any of the other all kind family books.
Hi Jennifer. When you showed the loons on the pond--reminded me of one of my all-time favorite movies-On Golden Pond! Thank you for taking us along on your day-date with Warren. He is 100% correct-Kitchen Aid has it all figured out! Always like seeing Warren doing "all his things" on the cranberry beds. Great video Jennifer-thoroughly enjoyed the visit. ps: how is the dance class going? Hugs.
The Kitchen Aid! ❤️ it’s clear that Warren loves you AND he wants you to be happy while making frosting. I love it!! ❤ Thanks for taking us along on your days!
You and Warren make such a great team. :) Glad you got the better mixer. Seems like it will be a good investment, and you use it so often.
I have 2 of those baking pans also. I bought mine at yard sales and one has a lid that fits on top. I love those pans more than the glass Pyrex dishes. Those glass dishes are so heavy when full. Those desserts for Peter’s pancake breakfast looked real good.
I have the kitchen aid three speed and I’ve had it a long time but it’s a wimp of a hand mixer. Mine is kind of a toy.
Try 1 or 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce in your Big Mac sauce, I make the exact same recipe but put Worcestershire in it one day, I think it’s so much better, I do make my own Worcestershire sauce but not many people crazy enough to do that. We are dealing with the same crazy weather here makes you wonder what summer will be this year. I love my old baking pans like your mothers, hate the new glass ones, glass retains the heat to long and things can overcook. The cranberry cake looks delicious.
Peter, any turkey hunting updates?
You picked the best mixer by far! I have the mainstays one and it's not great. The beaters are tiny at the bottom and barely make contact with especially few ingredients like eggs or anything really. Low speed is like med on most mixers and med and high are barely different from what is supposed to be low. It will mix things but not great at all! I was talking to my laptop saying not the mainstays!
Thanks for that review Brenda.
I have this same hand mixer. I love it. Have had it a couple years now. Only caution I have for you is that the end of the beaters bend easily like when cleaning them or knocking food off of them so just be cautious. They do seem to bend back into place rather easily.
When washing them the first time I noticed they were pretty thin. I’ll have to be extra careful.
Our date nights somehow always end at Lowe’s!
I think that spray from Aldi is great. Where my daughter lives, they don't have an Aldi, so she requested 12 cans when they had it in stock; one for each month. (Sometimes it's seasonal.) 😅 No she hasnt used it all. Some extra is always nice to have.
That’s a great gift and story.
I've had that same red Kitchenaid mixer for 5 years now and it's a fantastic mixer. I think you will really be happy with it. So enjoyed your video today.
Coffee and a country life video.. two of my favorite things..happy Sunday, Jenn and family.
Same to you!
I recently purchased that same mixer a few months ago and I love it!!
I make that same caramel Corn recipe and it always gets eaten so fast. I just love watching your videos and today I got inspired to make the Peanut Butter Swirl bars - I got your cookbook out and made them on my lunch hour (I work from home). My husband is going to love these bars.
They come together so fast, don't they?
I have that pan as well. It is well used and loved.
Yay a new video!!! I was watching a video from "in the kitchen with Mama Mel" called 5 recipes for box stuffing mix and 100% thought of you.. the potato cakes most definitely. Check it out
I watch some of her videos. So many good casseroles on her channel.
I have the same pan and I live in Pennsylvania and it is my mom's pan too.
Hi. Loved the video. Everything looks delicious.
Another wonderful vlog.
Man, I sure hate when you mess up on dessert and have to get rid of the evidence. haha
Thank you for the great recipes. Hope you have an awesome week. I am going to make three of the recipes very soon.
Thank you! You too!
Warren is hilarious! Great video, Jennifer! ❤❤❤
those bar cookies look delicious.
Love these videos!
Glad you like them!
Really enjoyed the vlog Jennifer. Thank you for sharing. Take care. Peace. Thumbs up
I so understand what Warren means when he said he's not burning anymore wood after you use up what you have! We are experiencing fluctuating temps here in Iowa, too. We've had some beautiful warm days (highs in the 80's) and some dreary cool days (highs in the 40's - 50's). This morning it was about 35 degrees, but I am so over these cooler temps that I wore my sandals to church anyway! 🤣 Great video!
Oh my goodness. What beautiful country!
Love your channel ❤
Thank you ❤
Great video! I have both of your cookbooks and I really enjoy them! The hug and kiss soup is our most loved recipe so far. 😋😋😋 Enjoy your day! I love this style of video!
❤️🫶🏻😘☀️
❤ love this video !! Please ask your mother about the pan …. I’m curious ❤
Always kitchen Aid.
Hi Jennifer and sweet family! I really enjoyed the day to day activities. Of course all the delicious foods you made always is so tempting.
Maria, you are so talented. Peter you’re such a talented young man. I miss Joe, he always melts my heart.
Warren, the wheels are always turning on working with something.
One of my husband’s dates was taking me to look at a G-6 high lift that he bought and used for years. Of course that was many moons ago.
Hope dance class is going well and everyone has a blessed night!
I have beat up pans like yours. I still use them. Love how you spend time with your husband ❤️.
Everything looked amazing. I'm going to Mahe the pb swirl bars❤
Good job Warren. Kitchenaid is the best choice.
I have that pan also. My sister went to an acution and bought me a box of cooking utensils. I use everything she picks up for me.
Good choice on the Kitchen Aid. Love mine and I’ve had it for a long time.
I love it so far!
I was just looking at the same hand mixer today
I know I had bought one, but for the life of me I can’t find it. The cheap ones do not last KitchenAid is a well-known brand and will last a lot longer.
I loved seeing about the cranberry beds. Your videos are great. I live in the Pacific Northwest and I am not familiar with the wood burner. Could you tell how it works? The loons are awesome. I love the sound they make.
I really enjoyed this video
Thank you and welcome Cathy.
Hi Jennifer ❤fantastic video you have definitely put me in the mood to bake ps I cant wait to get my cookbook from you 😀 😊❤xx
😄
Hi Jennifer… I really enjoy using both of your cookbooks because I know that all of the recipes are “tried and true” …I’d love to create a similar one for my family because I’ve accumulated so many favorite family recipes over the years…of course I always come up with this thought each year in October or November…any suggestions on how to accomplish this if I start now?
You could go broke on a date day! Truck, canoe, rain x, hand mixer, dinner = broke!
The other day I was going to make your half potatoes. Do you think I could find a video to re-watch? Nope. So I made another one of your potato recipes. We didn't love them, but they were fine. Next time I will write down the recipe right away.
Hi Jen Trust me the 13 dollar mixer doesn't work that well. I just made the epic brownies I think next is the peanut butter swirl bars those look good....God bless everyone
I bought a black n decker broke in a year. Ugh I have mainstay and gets still going.
Where does the water come from when he floods the marsh?
These days with nut & peanut allergies abundant are there no restrictions on nutty goods at public venues?
❤️Love my truck, i drive!!
But no way would I EVER pay 100K for a truck. It must have been a heavy-duty truck with all the bells and whistles!!!
We didn’t lose power in that storm fortunately they flickered a few times but that was it now we have our generator hooked up to the house so we will never be without power unless they turn off natural gas..
I’m from Connecticut but I r lived in South Carolina for many years now and I have never seen anyone add noodles to chili. Is that a common thing where you’re from or is it to bulk the chili or is it just preference. It looks good and I am thinking of trying it that way. Thank you.
Macaroni in chili is common around here, but like anything it's a personal preference.
I’m going to try it this weekend will let you know how I like it
Kitchenaid for sure lol
What is that in the water at 18:20
Joe s gonna be mad😊
I’m sorry but it’s like the Brady bunch but it’s Peter, Peter, Peter.
Lots of work, always something.
Just be careful with the model rockets! That is how our son Tyler burned over 10% of his body. He was building a rocket and it exploded...thankfully he wears glasses because they were imbedded with particles. Be safe!!!
I never knew that happened. Goodness that's scary for a mom.
Those abc mouse commercials always irritate me because they make it sound Ike kids playing isn’t learning. But play is how they learn. Reading with them, gardening and baking is learning too
