DEVIATION POLICE IS BACK! 👮♂
Weee-ooooh-weeeee-oooooh or whatever sound Belgian sirens make
(do Flemish sirens sound different...?)
Any talk about relegation for Bini as well? it's a little hard to tell only seeing a front on shot in the coverage, but Bini was all over the road after launching the sprint. You can see Gaviria ducking and dodging him trying not to get chopped. LR if you get access to an overhead, please show it
❤❤
Get 'em, boys!
Ballerini is a LEGEND for posting up at the side of the road to watch the finish if that's true... Petition that the pronunciation be changed to sound like Baller-ini ie he's a baller.
He probably had to make a delivery to some guys in the peloton. The money doesn't stop!
The Chad ballerini vs the virgin UCI commissaries
Jasper the Disaster is one of the dirtiest riders in the peloton, glad to see action finally be taken after the clown show that was last year's Tour.
Last year they were way to easy on him, should have been thrown out of the race
He got away twice last year
He's a scumbag, but I have a special place in my heart for cyclists who are that competitive.
@@tannerslomko the superior vena cava 😂
Cav should have been DQ yesterday (for several reasons), as wel as Phillipsen today. But they didn't dare to sanction Cav (because of historical victory).
So glad to hear they relegated Jasper. I just knew poor WVA's Olympic dream and far more flashed before his eyes. Chapeau to Wout for refraining from punching Jasper's lights out afterward.
Otherwise, I also appreciate all these different winners & stories. Great job, LRCP!
There’s no way Benji brought up Phineas & Ferb in the middle of a Lanterne Rouge episode. Made my day hahahahaha. Telling riders to get more aero by getting surgery to look like Phineas is wild though. Even tho Jonas kinda be looking like Phineas 😅
You are underestimating Pogačar here. He is in even better shape now and together with his bike he is 3 kg lighter than he was at the Giro. In the winter he worked on his position on the TT bike like never before.
Tomorow he will show the world who is the strongest. :)
Apparently, a scicon rep at Eurobike has told the press that the nose cone was neither designed for aerodynamic benefit nor sun protection. Instead, the idea was to keep water from flowing down the nose (behind the glasses?) in rainy conditions. According to them, Groenewegen picked the glasses purely for looks.
According to Escape Collective Scicon claims some areodynamic benefit “in downhills”. I agree with EC, though, that this seems a bit implausible (especially with a completely meaningless figure of 2-3km/h cited). They also confirm that Groenewegen just liked how it looks.
Not taking Majka to TDF is the biggest UAE mistake. he would never allow all this mess inside the team, he is a real general and respected tough man. No way Tadej gets left alone or ayuso don't pull if Majka was there.
Can’t expect him to do 3 GTs like pog.
@@leetnor4887but you CAN expect him to do 3 GTs like Kuss.
I love Majka but I somehow doubt he'd be there when Ayuso was supposed to pull.
Bring on the mountains!!!
Ineos pacing to keep the Ayuso and Almeida behind would have been pointless. Multiple sprinters were dropped and would have put their teams on the front to close so Ineos would have just burnt Kwiato, Thomas and Turner to keep them ahead for maybe 20km longer but still would have been caught but would and no rouleurs left for the finish
My predictions for the TT:
- Pogi actually narrowly beats Remco (up to 5 secs)
- Vingegaard ships at least 30 seconds Pogi and Remco
- Roglič is faster than Jonas, probably closer to Pogi and Remco than to Jonas. I think Roglič's form is actually ramping up.
Can you please force Benji to do the breaking MOOOOOOO, I was dying when you brought this reference up 🤣
I dom't remember which rider stopped to look at his teammate win a Giro stage a couple years back, but I do remember that both the live commentators and the press celebrated the fact as a sign of a tight relationship between teammates... Obviously no fines were handed as it would have been a hilarious decision to do that😅
It's a romantic tour and socialism is making a comeback, we even get a 3 timesplits at the ITT.
I think with Bauhaus he throws an elbow before getting bumped by Cav, but it doesn't look so bad. And then the second bump is much bigger, although that follows the small bump by Cavendish. Anyway, it seems pretty unevenly applied.
It not only seems so, it is. It is the standard operating procedure of the UCI. Has always been and probably will always be. It is like politics, it is all about the optics.
Great Tour, underdogs winning is making this more fun :)
Call it the Benji zone!
cam wurf drove that wheel to MVDP i believe
Bini for green!
UAE lost in echelons today, but Pogi already showing yesterday he has way more trust in Visma-lab for pacing than UAE as he was on Vinge’s wheel from km 7 to 4 km to the finish, and the rest of UAE was somewhere else.
Great to see smaller teams getting wins so far this tour. Cav is such a diva! What was up with his behavior today. Any other rider would've probably been out of the race.
How do non-TT specialist sprinters like Cavendish and Philipsen fare on TT stages? The time cut off is huge, like 30%. The sprinters will ride first (being lowest on GC) so they don't know the winning time to pace it perfectly but I'm guessing they ride as easy as they can while still being sure to be well inside the theoretical time cut because it serves absolutely no benefit to them to ride hard and gain time on GC. My question is, how easy or hard is a stage like this for them? I was wondering if they would maybe ride a road bike as it's hilly and take it easy, but I tuned in just now to see the sprinters are out on the TT bikes and I saw some overtaking others. So do they actually have to put in some work to make the time cut? Do sprinters actually risk not making the time cut on TT stages. Or are they usually very safe on a flat TT but because it's hilly today they have to work harder than usual? Will today actually be a hard day for them with some intensity or will it serve as a bit of a recovery day? Presumably on the flat they easily have the raw watts to make it as weight doesn't matter.
I’m happy jasper got rightly done today but the inconsistency in treatment is crazy. The jury never dares to change the result of the stage or touch cav
I will openly admit I reacted with rage to the title of the last video (about Cavendish). Sorry lads 🙏
Gee went unmentioned. I think he'll finish somewhere from 6th to 10th tomorrow and move into the top 20 in GC.
His ITT at the Dauphiné was quite good indeed, but did have a bit more elevation tbh.... I expect Durbridge to be up there too.... Just check the Paris-Nice ITT from this spring, same lenght and elevation... He became second.
Ballerini’s move is meme worthy not fine worthy.
Don't forget that when Astana perfectly led Cav to become the male sprinter with the most world wins in their career during Tour of Hungary a month or two ago, that was against Groenewegen.
Three guys coming on your handlebars eh? 20:01
Actually Philipsen was in the 2nd group
Its not a bit difference, but why did you stop using some photos when you talk about something
20:20 How about "incident time loss dispensation zone"?
How about just the sprint zone and stop the time
bruh thats the longest name you couldve given it. 😂
Patrick what kind of cricketer were you?
Wærenskjold should be pronounced Wærenshol (so æ like the a in at, skj like the sh in shall and the d at the end is silent)
give us a word with 'ar' as an example, e.g. marry, merry, Mary
@@desryan1603I mean the sound of the a is the same, I just picked the first short word I could think of

Couldn't stand Cav way of elbowing everyone and now can't stand jasper's unability to just go freaking straight...he'd won today of he didnt choose to close Van Aert in that way
These sprint stages without a hill at the end to make it fun, suck.
I think echelons are usually an overrated threat. Most of the time, the situation stabilizes and teams get organized, and all get back together. It is especially true for top riders and teams, and when those situations happen with 40kms+ to go
Did u watch worlds in the dessert a couple years ago, was the best race.
@@leetnor4887 Quatar 2016 with Sagan as winner... That was fun to watch indeed...
Uhm. I did not see any echelons unless the definition of an echelon has changed. ;-)
You probably missed KM 85 until 75 then. 😅
@@BenjiNaesenTV Aaaah yes I fell a sleep from 100km to go until 40km to go..... Way to boring these stages.... Sprint stages should not be longer than 50km, like that you can do two of them a day, just like in the '70s and '80s.
@@BenjiNaesenTV define echelon
Roglic can beat Jonas by 30 seconds tomorrow and move to 3rd. Not sure why they are saying he can't.
Jonas is littarly a. Etter time trialist than pog thats proven. Pog is better than roglic or Even atleast. But then u have to take in that Jonas form might be dodgy. It isnt imposible but it would shock me cause roglic have looked terrible
@@AlexanderSuhr Jonas his last five ITT results :
2023 Tour = 1st
2023 Vuelta = 10th
2024 O Gran Camino = 45th
2024 Tirreno = 9th
2024 Basque Country = 5th
Taking in account Jonas his current shape, I do see him become +/- 8th tomorrow.
1. Evenepoel 2.Van Aert 3.Pogacar 4.Roglic 5.Ayuso 6.Küng 7.Bissegger 8.Vingegaard 9.Almeida 10.Thomas, Armirail, Gee, Durbridge, Jorgenson, Rodriguez, Campenaerts, Thomas, Lampaert, Castroviejo, Lazkano, Sobrero, Waerenskjold, Oliveira etc etc etc etc

"Socialism is making a comeback, it's fantastic to see!" - Patrick Broe 2024
Benji you should rewatch De Lie's sprint yesterday... Way worse deviation and clear danger for taking down poor Mads Pedersen. If you don't DQ him, there's NO WAY you DQ Philipsen today for that. That was a political move made for pleasing Visma.
Yeah, I rewatched yesterdays sprint multiple times and decided for myself that it was De Lie who caused the Pedersen’s crash. You can make the excuse there that De Lie might have been scared by Cav’s and Philipsen‘s deviation. However, IMO he should have accepted that he was stuck behind another rider (was it Demare?) and could not come out of his wheel without endangering Pedersen. Then again, what De Lie did was trying to come out of a wheel while Philipsen‘s move was clearly and solely supposed to shut the door on WVA.
@@tillman5529 We're talking about safety or rider intentions? It should be clear. I do care just about the first of the two. It has to be pretty linear.
@xClydeHD I am sure intentions matter. Philipsen did it on purpose, and it would be more dangerous if Wout fights it and doesn't brake.
Also, 1- it's more easy to relegate a 2nd place than a stage winner and 2- there is history from last year.
Ironically, I also think that if Philipsen was more worried on being as fast as possible instead of closing Wout, he would have won the stage.
Anyway, important thing is that he and other sprinters stop with this dirty and dangerous moves
@@xClydeHD i agree. Intentions should not matter. There should be exceptions though. E.g. when a rider has to deviate to avoid a crash. I don‘t know the rules so maybe such a clause is already in there.
@@ruidelgado888 Yes. Rewatch the sprint of stage 3 and watch closely what De Lie did against Groenewegen. Tell me what's the difference and why he wasn't relegated.
Sprint stages are useless in my opinion. 4 hours of boredom followed by a dangerous finish that rewards assholic behavior, who needs it?
Sprinters
As it is the “tour of France”, we need transition stages. It also means we get some teams picking riders for sprint lead outs, which adds a level of strategy - for example, do Visma go all out for Jonas or do they give some support to WVA?
WVA is actually a rider that tends to be important in more stages.
Pure sprinters add nothing. Apart from the velodrome’s.
21 stages of only mountains would probably be even more hours of boring TV coverage. For better or worse, cycling is a sport of tradition, and encompassing more varieties of riders makes it possible for more athletes to participate. But what do I know, I hardly watch highlights, let alone 4 hours of a sprint stage. If you really have that time and demand more entertainment, maybe watch something else simultaneously?
🅷🅴 🅸🆂 🅳🆀
Finally Philpsen got relegated. He has a bad habit to push people around him. What he did to WVA, again and again, is his sprint style habit That's why Jacobsen was pissed off at him on Netflx season 2. Philipsen has been doing that all the time, and he got away with it last year. Agree with Benji, he might the fastest, but he is the dirtiest sprinter.
Cav did not endanger anyone yesterday. 2 facts: Jasper is a dirty rider. Cav is not. At least not now.
