@rozilla_the_savage4445 let dummies be dumb. I work in an industrial setting, and one of my coworkers was told to bleed a capacitor after putting on his ppe. Thought he knew better, these caps were almost as big as car batters. Fool loaded them into a shopping cart. I shit you not, he bumped into the cart and that fell over and discharged sounded like a shotgun 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for watching. I didn't call the coils "filters". I said this is also a good time to clean your filters or handle any other regular maintenance items.
i don’t think you listened or watched well enough to know he changed out the “made in china” capacitor , he never showed the specs for his new capacitor in the video.
I disliked the fact that you didn’t discuss any of the safety issues one needs to be concerned about when changing an apparatus that holds an electrical charge. First rule in the book safety first..
dude just replaced a 45+5 cap with a 55+5. If you want to know what the ratings are they literally say it on the compressor and fan motor so don't just guess or go off what the last one was lol
Depends on the unit specs. But to remind an evaporator is A lot more work than people think, you have to recover the refrigerant and then you can cut and replace the evaporator or unburze and braise the new one in, then you have to do a leak check then you have to pull a deep vacuum get rid of moisture and then you can put the new refrigerant back in and charge up if needed. Call around to some other companies and get some quotes, quotes should be free so it's always nice to compare. But always go with the company that is more trustworthy rather than the price that looks the best
Pretty average price for most companies. 4-6 hours of work, Evaporator price + $400-$500 dollars per hour of labor is standard for a reputable company.
Hey A-hole that was hex head is what he used. You are right about the capacitor. He needed to do a around check, because a stuck compressor can cause a capacitor to go bad.
Didnt even check amps on the fan or compressor. Read the cap labrl like a homeowner😂. With so much peace and love, you should probably just get it serviced and inspected by a professional, especially with that rusty ass burnt ass shitty disconnect(not an electrical panel). Highly advise to get someone competent out dawg, plus warranties are nice if it goes bad for whatever reason. Be safe.🫡
You are right about the disconnect. I checked everything before doing this replacement but this video is from 5 years ago. I wasn't good at recording my steps yet. I needed some content so I went back and grabbed this clip. But based on what you see here, you are correct. Homeowners should get with a pro if they don't know what they're doing. Thanks for watching.
You might want to explain capacitor discharge technique to avoid electrocuting yourself. Totally incomplete bs video
Probably has a bad fan motor or compressor taking out the capacitor. Most likely just fixing the symptom.
For sure that capacitor he took out looks brand new
Thanks you are very helpful
That panel is straight out of the Flintstones 😂
I dare you to lick the capacitor contacts 💀💀💀
Yeah, really surprised he didn’t comment about shorting the leads to be sure to drain the cap. Those things can have a real kick if not discharged.
Isn't that how you discharge them????😂
@@deepsleep7822 you don’t have to do that. They don’t hold a charge.
@@dustinengle2570I hope you're kidding

You didn't know the capacitor was bad. And they're not filters that's called the condenser coil.
Thanks for watching. I didn't call the coils "filters". I said this is also a good time to clean your filters or handle any other regular maintenance items.
Next cap will need to be a Turbo ‘Merica
Noticed that the new capacitor is made in China. He will be coming back soon to change it out again.
i don’t think you listened or watched well enough to know he changed out the “made in china” capacitor , he never showed the specs for his new capacitor in the video.
Everything is made in China
Ppl arent cleaning units yearly and it cost them more
was the fan motor
I hope you didn’t replace with the same brand capacitor. Titan pro capacitors are cheap and have high failure rates
The original capacitor was pretty old so I didn't see the brand.

I bought and replaced the exact same capacitor 55+5.
Survival of the fittest only the strongest of the compressors shall survive 😆
Does it cause any harm to install a higher microfarad capacitor?
Thanks for showing us how to wire the thing up 😒😒
you shoulda gone to school they teach you there
take a pic before you unwire
Easy peasy
Is it possible to have the clips on backward?
Yes, you want to make sure you put the terminals back correctly. If you are not sure, it's best to consult a professional.
Most units have wiring diagram on back of the panel you take off to get to it
@@webby5474if it survives the elements
What about the fan motor? It could be burnt out
Not if it’s humming
What if the wires are fried? How do I change those?
*By changing the wires*
Some models sell wiring harnesses as a replacement part. It just depends on the unit you're working with.
Call an ac technician 😂
@@LuisB9214 fxxk the technicians.. I had three of them look at my unit. and they didn’t know what the hell they were doing I had to fix it myself.
Cleaning Is 200$ filter change is $48.75!
Hudson sprayer 15.00 water free, spray coil and than foam coil cleaner $8.00 than rinse free water.Change filter me every 2 months.
THE EXO IS OLD AND RUSTY LOL..NON-FUSEABLE ONLY IF BREAKER IS RATED HACR THIS IS CODE SINCE 1982 LOL.
Just had a HVAC tech check unit, said I needed a new evaporator coil, cost of $2,800,it is still under warranty, does this amount sound high?

Had mine replaced in 2017 it was $1500 but the guy was an independent and this was 7 years ago. Plus the evap was pretty easy to get to.
It shouldn't have gone bad, its protected for much more. Check the quality of what it's powering and corroded lines
Capacitors don’t go bad on their own?
@@Ybeazzie Yes they do.
The video is poor i can't see what you are talking about, only your voice.
Can a capacitor be charged
💀💀
If you ohm out a capacitor and there’s no continuity the it should be replaced. Make sure to discharge the capacitor before replacing.
Hahaha😂
This lunatic unscrewed the capacitor with his flathead. Whaaaaat?!?!
Hey A-hole that was hex head is what he used. You are right about the capacitor. He needed to do a around check, because a stuck compressor can cause a capacitor to go bad.
Half S & Useless video
This video is worthless!
Always change out the motor and capacitor easy $800
Capacitor 10.00 motor 170.00..
FAN MOTOR?
You absolutely do not need to change the motor every time a capacitor goes bad lol

Hey high on some thing with go put fire so fast
Terrible video. No mention of the rating of the cap. The label showed a 55 and 5 uF unit.
