    He was definitely stuck between assisting Grannvale in capturing Agustria as basically a traitor, or sticking to his morals as a Knight for the incompetent King.
    I feel bad for him.

      Same here, just goes to show what a well written character he was. Of all all the Camus archetypes from the older games, Eldigan is my favorite. Of the three friends; Eldigan, Sigurd and Quan, Eldigan is actually the smartest one. He can see what Sigurd don't, that Grannvale's wars are an act of imperialism and they have no desire whatsoever to give Agustria their land or castles back. Even before they get involved in Agustria, he is concerned seeing Grannvale's troops at the border and conquering Verdane. It says in the opening text of this chapter that Grannvale's governors put in charge of the castles are exploiting the people and robbing the country. Eldigan is basically stuck between a rock and a hard place; betray his country to this invading nation or betray his best friend.

      L1LE1 not really, he was kinda dumb. It not as simple as “oh the enemy nation is invading us so we must push them back”. Chagal is a piece of shit and everyone including Eldigan knew that, despite that he saved chagal despite him imprisoning him, “because he’s the rightful king so he must live”. Chagal was actively harming agustria and its people and eldigan didn’t have the ability to figure out this simple fact that yes, there definitely needs to be a different ruler then chagal. So in eldigans act to do good, he not only got himself killed but also put a lot of un necessary pressure on sigurd and agustria as a whole, but also left his sheltered sister alone. So no its very hard to sympathize with him, and the only reason I like him is cause his design and power

      @@arman_llc624... Have you not researched the effects of Regicide or Usurpation?
      Do you honestly think that this is the way to go?
      I have to wonder sometimes if you're aware of the political ramifications of such a stupid action as to just have "Eldigan kill Chagall and be done with it".

    • @arman_llc624
      @arman_llc624 Před 3 lety +1

      L1LE1 I don’t have a clue about what those words mean but let me guess its about the negative effects dethroning a major power. Sure Agustria might go through some power imbalance and struggles initially but thats justified as long as it provides a better future that will undoubtedly come at the hands of the liberators. Sigurd and his army could’ve easily ended things in chapter 2 but they decided to cooperate with eldigan. Killing chagal is absolutely justified because he is the issue. And I’m not suggesting that eldigan kills him, just let sigurd and his army deal with him. Its literally not as deep, I could understand if chagal had some pros to him but he literally doesn’t, he’s just a worm. By letting him live eldigan hurt himself, and the common people of agustria. So as far as characters go, he’s no difference then lets say camus, which is a shame

    • @mcihay246
      @mcihay246 Před 3 lety +16

      @@arman_llc624 Uh... No.
      The liberators were just as bad as the existing nobility.
      Sigurd had good intentions, but he did things completely wrong. Recall that in the end, Sigurd represents Grannvale.
      He's not liberating Agustria, he's basically turning it into a vassal state of Grannvale.
      Heck, Agustria technically isn't even Agustria anymore if a foreign power comes along and claims the lands instead.
      If you have no idea on the politics of things in regards to the setting, then that's just an example of Presentism.

      Alura Une not really. Chagal is a scumbag in every way imaginable, and with him on the throne agustria will allways suffer, not to mention he put eldigan in jail, so to serve him again and protect him from meeting his demise, he litterally did a disservice to his people. Eldigians main thought process is that killing chagal will leave a power vacuum behind and will let sigurd’s army conquer agustria but we know that thats not true, and eldigan should’ve known that because he was sigurds close friend. And once again you can’t peace with chagal on the throne. Eldigan was dumb enough to go again and try to negotiate with chagal, thats such a low iq move in so many ways, and he got himself killed. He got himself killed, hurt his country, left his sister alone without any family members and slow down sigurds progress all at the same time without achieving anything good. Chapter 3 wouldn’t even exist if eldigan hadn’t interfered and saved chagal, so its fair to call him a dumb mofo. If there is a remake they definitely need to right his character better
