That's why it was so great lol. The Car throttle guys do those quotes all the time. So his rendition (fitting in so close to his natural accent) made me do a double take. But it was definitely intentional.

Isn't it great how Toyota designed all the panels to just pop off like that. Makes it really easy to work on.
BMW Z4’s are the same apparently
That side panel that came off cleanly was because I took that one off and replaced it when I owned it. It didn’t come off that easily, the other panel is more along the lines of what it’s really like.
Best project so far! It'll definitely need a Rev-happy V6 to help turn those wheels though...

As an mr2 owner, this hurt me! Never mind the fact that a lot of those parts are worth money. If you'd polished up the headlights, £100 right there for instance.

With all the parts they took off & won't be using again, like wings, bumpers, interior etc & could of sold them, you suggest polishing & selling the headlights, parts they actually are keeping on the car
Nah, he’s right. There’s tons of money in those parts. They bought it for dirt cheap, literally no money in USD, and those parts in the US are worth tons. You could sell off each individual piece, and have enough money to buy a drivable MR2. Of course this is going to be an off-road car, but the facts still remain.
Not to mention its a Facelift, even the side vents and rear bumper grills are sought after by Preface lift owners.

As a 2zz turbo modified Spyder owner in Australia, this was heartbreaking to watch you tearing off panels. I know the MOT and salt roads are harsh on cars over in the UK, but these cars unmodified fetch equal to around 7000 pounds here. God it looks fun Alex but it hurts to watch lol

Yeah, I have a mint 2003 and I didn’t like it either. Perfect condition or not, a lot of those parts could be useful for MR2 owners around now or in the future. I actually want the rear wheels for mine

Got to see this car this week @ BDS. Amazing quality work from Bruno as always. Very talented engineer and engine developer.
As an MRS owner, it hurts seeing those rare parts getting destroyed...
I don't even own one but i'm the type of person to treat every car with equal respect, and just seeing them destroy a complete MR2 with heaps of potential honestly hurts my heart lol. It was kinda infuriating watching them rip the roof off and overtightening the bolts hahah.
For Alex every tool is a hammer what a brute.
DDC2: “Hey guys can have some rear quarter panels? Oh.. ok…never mind then”
It is so sad to see other live the life you wanna live....but at the same time I am so glad Alex and the boys are doing this so I can watch vicariously through the safety of my screen. Keep up the great work guys can't wait to see the next episode! This thing is gonna rip!

Nearly forgot you guys kept this on your fleet and glad you have. Like the idea of making it a off road cart plus it brings so much laughter watching you lot do these challenges. Though I feel jacks anxiety while Alex rips panels off like a pissed off chimp in a safari park lol. Keep up the great work doing what you do. P.s if you going off road I would suggest now you have got the extra room in the Frunk to move the radiator further inwards and maybe at a angle to give your new radiator protection and to increase your approach angle.

American tire sizes are super complicated but I'll try and explain.
The 33 actually refers to the outer diameter. So this is the dimension from two points on the outside of the wheel as far away from each other as possible. If you imagine a point somewhere on the outer "barrel" of the tire then you'd find the point furthest away from that and it will be 33 inches away.
The 12.5 is a little more complicated. It's referred to as the "width". This is the dimension from one face of the tire to the other. Usually the tires have a bulge to the sidewall so it can get complicated where on that surface to measure. You have to measure close to the outside diameter measurement you took first to get the correct width.
Hope that helps, I know it can get confusing.
