Great video boss!!!! Thank you!!!!😊
Thank you!
THANK YOU!!! The whole part about "put in the SD card and THEN start the vehicle" is nowhere in the instructions on Kia's site.
Hey I have a quick question.. mines a optima 2016 ex and it doesn’t have the navigation sd card and the Apple CarPlay doesn’t work so should I buy a new one like the infotainment system or is there any process about it
Is it possible to transfer audio files (mp3) from the USB flash drive to the original screen memory?
Kia sorento 2020
Good evening, I have a Hyundai 2017 Avante Tarbo, the update is not available on the program, what should I do?
Hi there, I have a 2016 Kia Soul + and it has the Gen 4 navigation / infotainment system with UVO. Can I download Apple CarPlay to that?
IDK, but I don't think CarPlay is downloadable.
Hello sir, my car is a Kia Niro model 2020, I did this, and when I inserted the flash memory, I got a message that the files were not supported. What does this mean?
Why does the kia sportage 2019 not have navigation
QUESTION: does the kia nav system require a cell data connection? the 2022 kia niro ev specs shows waze as the navigation app. and waze can only operate with a cell data connection. i would never buy a car that requires either a subscription or a cell connection for navigation.
On the Stinger the KIA NAV does not require a data connection. If I want to run WAZE I have to do so on my phone via Apple Car Play, and that would require a data connection for the phone.
I am trying to set mines up when i put it into car to run the update I am getting some standard tunes as music but I made sure my drive had the documents before bringing it to the car... what should I do?

Common issue! So my car doesn't have SD card slot at all, I tried with USB, it cleanly sees USB and plays sounds just like in your video, but whenever I press UPDATE it doesn't see the software. Tried with 32gb and 64gb as well, please HELP!!
so if i have an older model than those listed, i can't update it? i have a 2016 forte and it only shows 2017+

I have a 2020 stinger and it says Navigation updates are being prepared for this vehicle. This service will be available as soon as possible. Does it mean it haven't came out for my model yet?
Same deal for my 2018. Not sure why
No. Apparently Kia is changing the NAV update for all Stingers it seems? I just ran the updater and the same error message popped up for me (2018 GT2 AWD) however it worked fine last week. Assuming things were working properly, this is the link to see what vehicles are available for update. update.kia.com/US/EN/updateNoticeView/602/pop2
@@stung_by_kia they had an issue with the Stinger update (2022), so the developers pulled it. The update would just loops after the initial update. If you were one of the fortunate ones to download the update prior to it being pulled, I would recommend you wait for the corrected update. If you do install, once the update goes through all 5 updates and the system restarts, pull the USB drive out or the system will restart the update and you will have to wait for another 30-45mins as the update installs again. Speaking from experience.
Does my 2018 Kia Optima PHEV need to be connected to the internet for this to work?
For the Navigation update in the Stinger in the video only the laptop needed connection to the internet, not the car.
I have a 2015 Forte… what’s my options to update the navigation?
It seems the Kia updater program only goes back to 2017 for Forte.
hello i have a question. if I remove the card from the car, should I format it and upload a new update? or just take it out of your car and put it in your computer and download this update ??
No matter where the SD card came from the updater program will try and reform the card.
@@stung_by_kia OK thank you for the information
Hey mate. Can it possible to use same sd card as you replace the card?
I think yes, however it will erase and reformat the card so you will have no back-up if the update fails or is corrupted.
You want to be very careful with the cards you choose, best to have two just in case!

Is it me ot it took a bit longer to boot up?
How about other regions? I'm from India and can't find my region in the selection.

How often does one need to update the navigation system with their Kia or Hyundai vehicle Please,?
Aside from the latest roads, etc., you don't need to unless you want the functions or features contained in the latest update. Sometimes they are cosmetic. Sometimes more.
I put a 64GB flash drive in and it said it can’t be over 64 GB because of the FAT32 system won’t allow it for whatever reason. So I’m going to download to my desktop first and then move it over to my 64GB flash drive. This better work. Any ideas.
32GB SDHC worked well for me in a 2018 Kia Stinger GT2. They are not expensive. You may want to try that.
Is it possible update navigation to Europe maps, i.e. from USA to Europe?
Once you load the KIA NAVIGATION UPDATER app on your computer click on the configuration icon (upper right hand corner cog wheel) and the selections you will see are region/country, Kia/Genesis/Hyundai make and language.
You think it is possible usa region change to europe?
Change usa region to europe in car from usa, thats the question.
can you download it to a usb drive? then update it in the card?
Apparently that will work, but I have not tried it.
@@stung_by_kia when I try to download the update, it says “updates temporarily unavailable”

Hello, i'm sorry my english is not so good... so the rest in french ! 😉
J'ai le Peugeot 3008 et les mises à jour du Nav/Gps just by USB Key.
Je viens d'acheter le Kia ProCeed GT-Line 2020, est-ce possible de faire les update by USB Key à la place de SD Card ?
Merci...
P.S: Je vois que tu as utilisé une New SD-Card pour l'update et pas l'original de Kia !
Why ?
@@masadarico7412 Cela peut dépendre du modèle de Kia. Je connais mieux le Stinger. Le Stinger peut être mis à jour soit par carte SD, soit par clé USB.
I have Kia forte ex premium 2019 and it show me in my screen icon navigation system but I don’t find where I put my sad card . Any help please.?!
Assuming your Kia has navigation, it will either be updatable via a SD card slot, a USB connector for a thumb drive, or OTA (over the air). Assuming your Forte does not have OTA, if it has Navigation there likely is a SD slot or USB slot that you would use. I am not sure which in your case. I looked at a Forte operations manual and I did not see anything regarding it or instructions on how to update the navigation.
I have recently tried updating a MY21 Kia Cerato Sport (aka Forte). Trying to use a USB drive was unsuccessful in both slots - the first would play the audio files and the fast charger slot wouldn't recognise the stick. The program indicates that it is expecting to write to an SD card, and it would appear that is the method to use, as in this video with the Stinger. After finding the SD logo just above the hazard lights button, and twisting the cover off, underneath there is a SD card slot, with card in place.
Does it now allow wireless apple CarPlay?
I didn't try, but I wouldn't hold my breath. It's not on the list of changes.
@@stung_by_kia Hi nice post . Thanks . Where can I find the list of changes , please ?

@@stung_by_kia Dear where can find the memory card
On a Kia picanto 2019
1. Is there a minimum sd card that you need for the maps?
2. Can you use a micro SD with adapter?
For the Stinger it required 32GB. Not sure about other Kia's. I would assume the map update would be approximately the same. Not sure if and adapted micro SD would work or not. I assume it would work.

I can't find kia morning in the type of vehicle do you know what i shoud to do
It would be helpful to state in your description that this only applies to newer Kia vehicles.
When you run the Kia Navigation Updater application you must choose which vehicle and year you are updating. If the app offers an update for your car then it is updateable. Not all Kia models have the same connectivity.
@@stung_by_kia why download the app if it doesn't apply to 2016 or older models?
I just got a 2020 kia stinger gt1 and the radio stuff is dated af. Having a challenger with infotainment and now this it's ridiculous. It's old, boring and dated. I have to use a USB to my phone to use navigation? That's ridiculous. Everything else is great. But the radio is old
This process did not work on my 2020 Kia optima. I put the 32 GB USB in the CarPlay USB. This vehicle does not have a SanDisk slot so I guess I’m at a luck Kia is very confusing and does not explain the correct process video shown that a 32 GB USB with the correct files to update goes into the car play USB very confusing. All I got was please insert the updates. All it did was play WAV files on the USB drive.
Hi Mark, I have just updated my 2020 Kia Seltos, used the official KIA download page and saved the folder to my PC. I then copied all the "FILES" (not the folder 2020_21_Seltos_AU) onto a 1TB USB drive and plugged it into the port marked "USB" and followed the instructions on the KIA website. The update took 25 minutes to complete. BTW, I attached a battery charger to the battery, did not start and run the engine as stated in the KIA instructions, worked well for me. I think the 32GB USB is for models that do not have the USB port 🙂NB!! make sure the USB is formatted to FAT32.
@@A-raven tried that too. Still no luck.
@@A-raven tried this all the way still no luck. I do not have no such folder that you said not to copy.
Also btw you can use the original SD Card you dont have to buy a new one
I would also like to know this. People never clarify in their videos.
@@anxiousnation3820 yes you can use the same. It will ask you to delete the old navigation to install the new one.
This can show you an easier way honestly, but its still best to have a backup
czcams.com/video/o2Bog6UkIm0/video.html
I dont know if that helps sha!
Is there a cost?
No cost assuming you have a SDHC or USB already and a computer to download the files.
Heh, if I wanted a car that updated itself I would have bought a Tesla. That and I would have needed more money.
I have a 23 Sportage and I want to add the Arabic language and update the navigation. Is there a solution?
Hello sir, my car is a Kia Sorento model 2020, it has the original sd card and it was working without any problems. But I tried to update it and when I put it in the car, the screen did not respond to it. I think the navigation program canceled or erased. Please do you have a whatup number to keep connact whith you .thank you for your time.I live in lraq means midelest.
In the Kia Navigation Updater program set-up screen there is a drop down list for Region/Country. The regions/countries I see are: South Korea, United States, Canada, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Middle East, Europe, Brazil, Turkey, India and Japan. Did you select Middle East? I assume your issue is either that Middle East was not selected before the file was downloaded, or that the app does not support downloads of maps for Iraq ... I am not sure.
