    SWEET ! Looks like a good way to do it as long as one is careful like you were. I think vice grips might be better than channel locks if you have a ratcheting wrench. Nice install !!

    Yeah good job! No compressor method in my opinion is the easiest method. Exactly how I did my 4Runner, but I didn’t even disconnect the sway bar end links. Don’t forget the loctite on those bottom ball joint bolts.

    Nice and clear video - well done. After the lift, how did the CV shafts sit relative to horizontal? Just saying because if the CV shaft dips down quite a lot towards the wheel side, that would put extra loading on the CV joints while 4x4 is engaged.

    Quick Tip: at (2:13) The sway bar bolt actually has an Allen hole inside the of bolt to hold it in place while loosening the nut.. (found out after failed attempts)

    • @DrivenCompanion
      @DrivenCompanion  Před 3 lety +3

      Thought they'd be a bit more durable and wanted to compare with the 5100s. Having had both I'd probably lean toward recommending 5100s because of the competitive price.

  • @Intentsrig
    @Intentsrig Před rokem +1

    So how much lift to it eventually achieve? It seems that adding a winch and bumper would be problematic if you are already on the highest lift setting and only getting 3”? If you wanted to stay 3”.
    Highest setting with winch/ bumper would maybe be at 2-2.5”?

    You have had both bilstein 5100 and 6112. How do they compare. ?is the 6112 on road ride? To me bilsteind are great at highway speed but slow speed its a little stiff. I have heard the 5100 are stiffer then the 4600 and I have heard the 6112 is a better ride bc it handles things easier but at slow speed I have not heard if its stiffer then 5100?the same??a little.smoother? I keep hearing the 61q2 is better bc less preasure inside but then i heard since its a 2.5 shock that its gonna be overkill and ride like a.brick

    The kit you have listed says it's for FJs with 150-200lbs in the front but I don't see you have a front bumper other than the grille guard. Is that for sure the kit you ordered? I am debating this kit on the 4runner but I've got different shops telling me different part numbers and Bilsteins website has them differentiated by weight.

    • @DrivenCompanion
      @DrivenCompanion  Před 2 lety +2

      This is the kit I ordered. I did eventually add a hidden winch mount with winch but it rode well before and after that.
