Thank you so much! It wouldn’t let me backup from iCloud because I needed to update the new phone. I used my MacBook to run the update on the new phone and restore from back up! Though it didn’t save my passwords I still had to sign into the app

So if I do the temporary backup on Tuesday and get my new phone on Friday, do I only use this backup on Tuesday or the latest automatic backup?
You never mentioned anything about a sim card. Do I take my sim card out of my old phone prior to doing this back up? Does it matter if I use the old sim or the new one if my data is being backed up anyway?
I didn’t need the extra iCloud space but when my new phone is at the restoring from iCloud step, do I have to keep my old phone next to my new phone??
So what if I started setting up my new iPhone and didn't use the iCloud backup - but NOW I want to use the iCloud backup from my old phone. Do I need to reset my new phone first? Yes?
