Thanks for sharing....with 750 views in 3 months this is obviously a common problem with these ignition mechanisms. Curious if this is still working for you. After watching your video and going through a few different Dodge Ram forums post on this topic, I decided to give it a try on my 2003 Ram 1500 that has been intermittently giving me headaches. What this is is sticky tumblers that won't drop down when you stick the key in. This is caused by years of you pulling your keys out of your pocket and bringing specs of dirt and dust into the keyway. Add to that normal wear from the keys and the tumblers getting moved about also creating microscopic metal dust and you get this issue. Rather than use the spray you used I used a silicone lubricant. I put it on the key and started putting in and out then wiping the key with a clean rag. Each time I did this the key went in clean and came out dirty. Did this about 10 times and the key gradually started coming out with less and less dirt. I took a thin piece of metal, kind of what they use to pick locks with, wetted it down with the same silicone and worked the tumblers...That caused a problem. After doing that I could not get the key to turn on no matter how much I wiggled and jiggled it...Before I was always able to get this darn lock to turn...not this time. In one of those forums someone mentioned putting the key in and tapping it lightly with a small hammer a few times. I did that and presto the key turned easily. Did the silicone insert the key and clean thing a few more times them turned the key off and on and into accessory position about 10 times and so far so good...seems to have resolved the issue. I will report back in a few weeks or sooner if it gives me problems before then. Thanks again for taking the time to shoot this video it gave me the motivation to try and fix it rather than just replace it...

It’s still works. I plan to change out the ignition switch eventually but it hasn’t given me a problem since.
