- removing clutch with homemade tool, clutch disassembly, inspection, lubrication, and assembly,
You need approximately a 2.5" to 3" Bolt 9/16 by 18 TPI Bolt NF plus a steel rod. I think I used a 1/2 all thread rod. Can't remember the length but just put it in and mark how much you have to cut off so the bolt can thread in at least an inch. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
i had to dremel my fiberglass and aluminum too. also be careful what you stick in behind the bolt. i used a 1/2 bolt with the head cut off and it damaged the threads on the crankshaft.
Is this Red Green's brother?
wouldnt it be better to used a silicone based lubricant? due to belt debris?! or is the white lith grease still ok? im serviceing both of mine as well just looking for more info
in the video cant tell what size you said for the bolt. I just bought a bolt for my HEX style clutch on a 1979 jag 3000 FA and its a 9/16x18 bolt that fits it.
Hi Jacob, Yeh you are right 9/16 by 18 TPI. I said 20 TPI my mistake there. I will put that in the description. Thank you.
Question about track on ‘78 jag. Cleats on track are of course, getting rusty. Would rust remover be ok to use on the medal cleats? Would the rust remover be toxic for the rubber track? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi Steve, Rust remover won't hurt the rubber track, just wash off with soap and water. It won't mater what you do though, after first use it will get rusty again. They take a lot of wear.
What settings do you run on that carb? I have same sled can’t find any info on this b34s
I did that 4 years ago. Sold it shortly after videos. I might have a video on it, not sure. Check in my play list. I am not sure if you are familiar with adjusting 2 stroke carbs, but after they are warmed up you can dial them in by ear. You can start with 2 turns out than dial in by ear. Turn out until it bogs, than turn it in until it bogs than set half way plus a bit so it is on the rich side.
Hello my friend, I have an arcticcat 1000xt 2014 model machine, while the cvt motor slows down, it makes a mechanical sound before it stops, I took it to 3 service, it was not solved the problem was not solved. Give me some information about it
I am not familiar with that machine at all, but if it is a centrical clutch like a snow machine with a belt, you will often hear the 3 pawls disengage with a clunk as you back off on throttle. This is normal but the sound can be reduced with a proper service and using the right grease lubricants. It will soften the sound and reduce wear.
@@MOAB 👏👏👏
Well this sucks I tryed this and it basically just bent the threaded rod and now it's jammed up in there lol wtf am I to do. Any help will b much appreciated.
You have to now disassemble the clutch on the motor. If it is still in the machine you may have to remove the engine. Yeah the rod should really be hardened but they usually come out with impact gun.
Good Luck.
You could try the water method of hydrolicly forcing the clutch off the crankshaft
That gease and lubrication is going to be a big mess all over thee belt the very first time you fire up the engine
Yikes. These clutches should be run dry or maybe some comet clutch spray that dries. Hope your belt don’t slip
Why not just get the right puller😮 very common
