- Did you ever go Mad for Mad About You?? The hit sitcom that gave us eight seasons of new york mundane humor. That sounds bad, but it was anything but. Beginning in 1992, It made us laugh while breaching everyday adulthood, touching on issues such like sex, night shifts, and mismatched couples. ANd the mundane thing about it, was how honestly the characters, the city of New York, was portrayed. And more importantly, how a real loving couple works through issues, and life together. The show was full of energy and incredible chemistry but most of the joys of this Big Apple sitcom, came from never leaving the apartment. And trust me, I can relate.

I am surprised that Lisa Kudrow wasn't mentioned in this video. Lisa played the dim witted waitress at the local restaurant. When Lisa was cast as Phoebe in Friends they made the waitress character Phoebe's twin sister. The two shows ran simultaneously for a while.
He is just gorgeous and funniest comedian.

I used to watch every single episode of this show!!!! I was in my early 20's back then and it was one of my favorites to watch!!!! And I still would love to watch it!!! Excellent! Thanks so much for this. I could never understand why Paul didn't win any Emmys for his performances. To me, he was the whole show, and I loved his low key humour and quick wit. Anyway, for me it ranks right up there with "Frasier" for quality and excellence.
Wow didn't even know about the revival. When the original was on I was a lonely single person and I dreamed of a relationship like that. Now that I have one I can't wait to watch the revival with my girlfriend. Thanks
It was on a few yrs ago. Be prepared, Helen looks VERY different in the reboot.
Mad About You is one of my favorite shows. I loved all the characters. The acting made me feel like they were my friends. When the show stopped airing, I actually felt a-bit home sick. I was disappointed that the reboot was not available on network TV where everyone could see it. I have not seen the reboot because it just wasn't available, but I would love to see it. Whey can't shows like this be made again?

My Mom and I watched "Mad About You" every week. We loved the show. We also enjoyed Helen Hunts role in the movie "Twister". I still watch the torando movie once a year on Halloween for something alittle scary for the holiday. 😀
I don't know where the rumors got started that Helen Hunt was suppose to be one of Carol Burnett's Daughters?? My Mom believed she was for sometime.

I miss Ira and Cindy Lauper were both good. Used to watch this with a girlfriend I had in my late teens in the late 90s. Times were so good except having to rush to return video rentals late at night because we forgot and didn't want to pay late fees.
I remember a episode that had Yoko in it
She survived a terrible accident a couple years ago on the way to shooting her show in Hollywood. My friend was the limo driver. She's lucky to be alive. Blessings.

Helen is stating to look somewhat normal again. In the Mad About You reboot she looked absolutely horrible. Whoever did her facelift should be sued for malpractice.

The new show didn't last because Helen Hunt looks unrecognizable after her face lift. She looks terrible!
I HATED this show and its smug condescending characters. Im a native New Yorker but Seinfeld and Friends were much better and funnier NYC based shows.
Couldn't disagree more. Mad about you was OK (Paul is great) but Seinfeld (all due respect) was the worst show in history. Literally painful to watch.

@@trawlins396 I don't think there was any "in between" when it came to Seinfeld, you loved it or you hated it. I don't think that popularity holds any water with how good something is. In the 1970's millions of people bought pet rocks for five bucks a piece.
On a side note, this all is ultimately subjective.
@@themacocko6311 If it can be measured and classified with data it's not subjective. Seinfeld had some of the highest ratings of any sitcom in television history. It's success isn't subjective. Whether you found or not it funny is subjective.
Paul Reiser talked like a New Yorker. Quite irritating to watch.
