I just can't understand why Pakistani films and shows are erased from the media or internet bcz of criticism and we people just can't find to watch that anywhere and on the other hand it doesn't happen with Indian Cinema and that's why they are moving ahead of us
I imagine it's because it's prevented by the Pakistani Govt? I don't know _much_ about Pakistan, but in the way the internet tends to lead you towards things, I stumbled upon a BBC news story about the censorship of the Churalis series by the Pakistani authorities, after reading about the Defence Minister's comments. I then read an article about the horrific gang-r*pe, and found myself hunting for a clip of the series to see what all the fuss was about. I honestly had no idea that women were still oppressed to this _extreme_ in your country. It sounds absolutely terrifying simply to exist as a woman, who needs - and deserves - equal rights and just basic human fairness. I know much more about the plight of women's in countries like Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria - but I've now just downloaded the *UN's Women, Peace, and Security Report*, and see that Pakistan ranks 167/170 countries on this index. Shocking... 😔
Pakistan needs this type of shows to get rid of stereotypes & religious extremism. Otherwise, the development of Pakistan is impossible. No economy is developed without the adoption of liberalism.
