There is no other series like this to my knowledge. It combines many genres: thriller, romance, mystery, comedy, buddy-flick, and mental health. It’s simply well written and well acted. Soundtrack is amazing too.

Small clarification: the one where Kang-tae takes Moon-young is not a normal motel, but a so-called love motel, typical in the Asian area such as Korea and Japan, which, as the name suggests, are motels made exclusively for couples who want seclude yourself to have sex for a few hours or all night. That's why the manager provides various erotic options for the two, as well as having a condom dispenser. Note that when Moon-young corners Kang-tae, the motel manager has a condom in his fingers but it is ironically censored with the "crossed out 19" stamp, which is the age of majority in Korea ( which would actually be 18 years in international calculation). Regardless, the scene and everything that comes after is really funny, in fact I think it's the funniest episode so far and it comes after a lot of drama and tears, but in any case I love Moon-young's way of doing it and reshooting it all the hurtful things Kang-tae said to her, maintaining an adorable cheek, completely surprising him, with the sole purpose of making him nervous.
As for Joo-ri and Moon-young's relationship and past, I suggest you don't stop at the words said by both of them during the argument, they are only the surface of what happened and I wouldn't define Joo-ri as two-faced. .. But I'll stop here, I'll just reiterate that, in general, in this drama we shouldn't stop at the surface, there's more hidden underneath. That said, even here, despite everything, I found the context very funny, especially how Joo-ri behaves later with her mother, she seemed like a small child, which makes her somehow authentic, because, let's face it, we all react in similar to an unrequited crush.
And once again the head doctor Oh Ji-wang is the protagonist of another hilarious scene, when he tries to free Sang-tae from indecision, but finds himself being smeared with paint by the latter for doing so.
Small side note, for personal enjoyment: the dress Moon-young wore, the one that left her right leg exposed, absolutely gorgeous, but it must be said that she would look divine even with a garbage bag, so to speak... .
