If he, her dragons, and Missandai had lived then the mad queen wouldn’t have happened. A lot went into Dany being heartless. And a lot came out of Dany being heartless. Jon being exiled. Bran being king of 6 kingdoms. Not 7. Sansa being Queen in the North. And Ultimately, Daenerys’ death itself.
I would say that his death was at least a bit realistic You can be the best swordsman in the whole westeros but if you get outnumbered in a very recluse place And adding on that his advance age One shot and you die He didn't die by one man But a whole gang His death is indeed not impactful but pretty realistic

I like the actor they chose to portray Barristan. Old, but still in shape for fighting, & even tho i puctured him more gruff looking, being a strong fighter, Barristan is know for his honor, & the actor has that jonorable, distunguished gentlemanly presence about him. So it still works
The show ruined him, in the books he is a badass hand of the Queen, he conquered Mereen when Daenerys left and is leading his vast army against the Slavers

House Dawn will be important in the next books (if published) and it's not a coincidence that Dawn is not passed to every member of the House

@@ldevsonly9347 jon killed a couple white walkers, he should’ve been the one to kill the night king but d&d were obsessed with Maisie Williams and wanted her to be the one to kill him, also Arthur dayne had 2 swords and fought off against 4 others at the same time killing 3 of them and would’ve killed Ned if howland reed didn’t stab him in the back, brienne only beat the hound because he was injured and hungry, and even then she almost lost, and she only beat Jaime because he had been tied up for a year and he was in chains, in the books brienne thinks that Jaime would’ve destroyed her if not for the chains, jon was a good swordsman sure but not at daynes level, nor selmys just because someone is the best swordsman from a group of farmers, rapists and thieves doesn’t mean he’ll beat someone who had actual combat ability, he never fought tormund 1v1 and the half hand let him kill him for the good of the watch, and in the battle of the bastards he makes a stupid decision and allows Ramsey to bait him into attacking when he himself had said it’s important to be patient and let Ramsey attack first, being the best swordsman amongst farmers rapers and thieves is like you’re the tallest person in the room with a bunch of toddlers
