  • I’m really pleased to be back with you chatting about my latest make, a 1950’s style Shirtwaister Dress inspired by a Vintage Vogue Pattern I found recently. Paired with another lovely find of some beautiful floral vintage cloth and some glorious buttons from my stash. Rather than using the pattern, it inspired me to pattern cut my own version using some of the elements I really liked.
It wasn’t all plain sailing as I had to work around squeezing out the most I could from the cloth, but I won thankfully. I prefer on my shirtwaist dresses to have the buttons only on the bodice rather than carrying on through to the skirt so that means popping in a side zipper too. Far less buttonholes and buttons to sew on though.
