Falcons super bowl odds dropped from +2400 to +2200 after penix pick. Quality backup qb is important.
Agree 100% Back up will get in at least a couple games over the next 2 years, Heinike is almost a guaranteed L
Bet the Jets wish they had a backup to Rodgers the caliber of Penix
He has the intangibles, he has been their leader on every team he has ever played on.
No matter what, the Falcons are set at qb for years. Smart move.
Haters mad 😊
Keep hating Dan #Riseup
These arm chair GMs. 1st. Cousins has plenty of weapons at every skilled position. 2nd. When the Falcons plan work out now and in the future. We want all of you dissenters to keep that same energy.
Ask the Jets if they wish they had a backup the caliber of Penix lolololol
Falcons have an underrated bad history
Yall act Like Kirk Cousins was Dan Marino
Kirk is 78 wins 70 losses 2 ties
Verse .500 teams he is 16 and 47 (let me repeat this)... in 13 year career he has 16 wins vs teams with a winning record!!!!. Put that in perspective, Lamar Jackson had 10 wins in one season vs teams with a winning record ....8 of them by double digits!!!!! .... 13 years to get 16 wins !!!!
Worst record for a starting QB on Monday night football that could have been worse if not for 2 easy Bears wins >> 3 and 12
Do reasonable people really believe 36 year old QB coming back from achilles rupture who he could miss all of OTA and some of training camp WITH THIS RESUME is about to make a Super Bowl push?
I mean this is close to financial advisor telling you to buy lotta tickets
It is delusional unreasonable expectations.
The MORE reasonable bet to make would be on a 2 year window of Cousins followed by a 10 year window of QB THEY believed in.
I thought that the instant the pick was announced
And i am a Lions fan
He's won only 1 playoff game in 12 years...he's not even Joe Flacco
I like Kirk, I'm a Spartan. But, his greed takes too much of the salary cap, costing his teams in the long and short run. He needs to ask himself, what would Brady Do?
Why would Atlanta draft O when we have Drake the exact same type of WR, Atlanta needed a speed slot WR sir, Atlanta just did that bs with Smith how did that turn out, 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Falcons do this every time. This is why they can't win a Super Bowl. Dancing in the 3rd quarter instead of keeping their head in the game. Stupid picks and old players. They never learn no matter who owns them coaches them plays for them. It does not change. I am from GA live in GA will die in GA and the Falcons will never be a championship team.
Ok, boomer - put the drink down.
Yur not a fan
Its not like we were a Dallas Turner away from a SB run.
Experts and fans said the same thing about KC moving up to draft you-know-who 😉 Actually, if you were paying attention to the Falcons over the years, the only time things work out is when they do the unconventional thing. Sure could have drafted Turner and Turner could have been Aundrey Bruce 😆 People like you said the same thing when we moved up for Julio, for Vick, even back when we drafted Ryan people clamored for the "conventional" pick. Playing g it safe gets you at best mediocrity in the NFL.
Without a real QB, you have almost zero chance of winning a SB and yet every year people hate on teams drafting QBs 😆
HATERS
Well Nice man Knownnothing Danny, Falcons couldn't be sure Penix would be there at 8, grades don't mean squat with QBs, not even yours Dano. If the Falcons sign some shihook stop-gap QB with the idea of drafting Penix at 8, they'd be derelict to make such an assumption. Why do all the "experts" assume Cousins is going to all 4 quarters of the next 34 games + playoffs without missing a game, or 3 or another season? Then the Falcons would be back to JUCO talented Taylor Heinike and another wasted season. Mark my words, Penix, not Heinike will be needed for at least a couple games over the next 2 years, games that could make the difference between making the playoffs and early vacations 😉
You can't say it was the right pick (Jordan Love) now looking back. What if instead they drafted a WR and ended up winning a title. Jordan has so far turned out to be a nice player and that is about all one can say about that pick.
This is worse than 28-3.
No Falcons fan who watched that game would say that 😆
