- When Matt Hunter met a stranger in the Mexican backcountry, there's no way that he could have guessed that the chance encounter would lead him to exploring the wilds of Alaska by bike years later. After all, the area is better known for its vast, picturesque landscapes and diverse wildlife, of which Matt and his friends saw plenty of, not its trails. But as Matt and his friends found out, Alaska doesn't do anything in moderation.

Its crazy. I remember seeing this video when it first released. I lived in San Antonio at the time and told mysel that I was going to ride here one day. Fast to forward to 2018, I get stationed in Anchorage AK and I have been riding Lost Lakes since (have a youtube clip) along with all the other great trails out here. So blessed.

Its this simple, Matt your an inspiration. I challenge anyone who rides to watch any of the Trail Hunter series (Japan is a standout) and not want to grab some of your mates and smash some trails. Cant wait to see if a Trail Hunter Australia turns up sometime. I think its time Matt.

thats a rough one! the best it to pedal up the fireroad intil you break treeline then bomb down and when you hit the vaught lake trail crossing turn on that. There is no better singletrack than that little bit

I got to ride got this a month after these guys did and rented a bike from the train car in Seward. Unbelievable ride. Breathless views.
firstly, is the new 130mm camber enough for this type of trails? and secondly, is the 160mm enduro too much for long xc rides? plz help
+adam damstr 130mm should be able to do this. I am no expert on Alaskan trails nor have I ever been there but I ride fairly rough trails with similar travel. The Enduro is heralded for being a great climber as well as descender but over long XC rides the Camber would certainly do better. I hope I have been a help.
This makes me want to pack my bags and hit the trails for a trip...now

Been to Lost Lake just by chance discovery. It’s probably one of the most beautiful places on earth. It reminds me of what a prehistoric forest would look like-a boreal forest.
@@aronfreitag this guy seems like one of those "don't tell anyone where anything is so they can't come in mindless droves and spoil the trail for the special few in the know" types. I live in Alaska and couldn't recognize it cause he's only showing short sections in the wayback.
