Hi everyone, my son and i just got back from our christmas vacation with the family, and I just saw the DM from @Splattercatgaming. I then sat down to watch this vid, like i always do to chek if it's Marius-friendly, and for som reason my eyes began to leak, wonder why XD.
I can't wait to show my son this one and tell him that his hero is talking to HIM and knows his struggles and that is is possible to learn how to handle life with your quirks.

As a developer makes me pretty angry seeing people abusing channels like yours, you are a gold mine to indie devs and very respected by a lot of us. Sucks that you will need to take extra steps for builds but I do think it's the right call. I also suggest setting up an isolated setup where you get the builds and play them but I know that can be annoying to deal with. Happy to see you back
This I agree with I am no Dev far from it but I love Indy games it’s just fun everything from this to kynseed to Terra tech and so on people like splat help the community and the devs make more stuff and make it right :) happy to see you back brotato.
Isolated build is an extremely good idea
Total agree on the isolated setup. It would be difficult to stream from, is the only problem, but you might be able to do it using a VM with hardware access. You don't usually lose much when doing that, not even frames. And if a rogue install costs you the VM, it's easy to delete and restore it and they don't get access to your RL stuff.
Just to really drive this one home, run all games in a VM, and if you aren't sure how to do it, ask on your Discord, sure people can help you set it up.
He is a perfect view into the indie scene, and has absolutely been more valuable to me than most other sources when thinking about buying an indie game. He even takes time to make an updated review if a game has been changed enough.

Nookrium..he has a cavlier attitude towards game play and content but once you understand he is just having fun and not trying to intentionally piss you off its not a bad ride..but i still thinks he trolls with purposefly bad decsions
@@jaredboudreaux4311 Raptor is for more of a chill experience and people wanting to learn the minutea of a game while splat is hard and fast and giving you the New York minute of a game for an impression.

I have PTSD and for about a decade now, I've been watching one of your videos every night before I go to bed to help me cope with the idea that I may end up having awful nightmares again. You always manage to get me in a better mood. Not to mention the amount of awesome games you've helped introduce me and your audience to. Thank you Matt, you're a good dude :)
I know what you mean man, PTSD insomnia is a horrible struggle, I'm so sick of it some days. You're absolutely right Splatter Cat does have a good positive feeling and his humor does bring cheer to many myself included.

Wolfborn8 PTSD is very easy to deal with but I'm glad the videos help you relax and help stop the nightmares from the stuff that you have had to deal with in the past.
Hey, if it's super bad. consider talking to your mental health provider about nightmare suppressant medication. I had a pill like that back when my PTSD was maxed out and ever night was hell. And it basically nurfed every dream I had while I was on it. They became....blurry and pale and emotionless and hard to remember, and it saved me at the time cause the nightmares no longer kept me from getting good sleep or being afraid of going to bed.
Consider it, and talk about it. It might help you out. It's not for everyone, and if it doesn't work out, don't keep taking it, obviously, but it's worth a trial.

@@Liz-with-a-smile thank you Soo much for the suggestion. At the moment I'm on some medication along those lines. I don't sleep well and don't reach REM sleep often so I guess its a little bit of a blessing to keep the nightmares away.
I think that now I'm getting older that my TBI is causing a whole lot more problems for me.. I still have some PTSD freakouts, been trying to work on it with therapy and then meds, was resistant to the mental health drugs out of concern they would interact badly with my medications for my physical damages/complications.
They all kinda conspire and team up on me sometimes and I can't deal with enclosed spaces, loud noises (especially those loud AF fireworks) I'm relatively ok with gunfire at the range with heavy ear protection.

I've tried pretty much everything out there over the years, from a wide range of prescribed meds to weed, cbt therapy, psychiatry, etc, nothing ever worked. Running and exercising was the closest thing I ever got to being okay with having PTSD, but due to old injuries catching up with age, I can't run anymore and can only do mild exercises. Anyway, I'm hanging in there. One day at a time-- some better than others.
I truly hope things will work out well for you. Sending your warm wishes and positive thoughts! Stay strong.

As someone who has been privileged to work with a number of kids on the autism spectrum over the years (and being neurodivergent myself), it means the world to me that you're the kind of person who does this. I like supporting good content creators, but I like it even more when they're good people too and you so clearly are good people.

Kids probably make him nervous, they make me nervous, I actually have children of my own but other peoples kids I don’t really like, because of the simple fact that you know you can’t really control another person‘s child,
Like when I tell people I don’t like kids I give them that scenario that meltdown at the doctors office there’s a parent says they’re in ignores everybody knows that I’m talking about

I had girlfriends whose kids would just act like little monsters and they would look at me "Aren't you going to do something about this"? and the moment i did it wasn't my place to discipline their kids. it's a no win situation...I still have a soft spot for them though.

I really enjoy your videos and thoughts/ comments on indie games- but I especially like the fact that you show that you're a real person, what struggles just like anyone else. Yo Splat, really appreciate you reaching out to that young Infinity. I too was undiagnosed up until adulthood and had to develop mechanisms and rituals to deal with NTs. The only way spectrum kids will get positive reinforcement about their diagnosis will be from an elder Infinity who has learned to thrive. Good on you for passing that experience on. I stay about a month behind so I always have content to watch. When I did see your ENTIRE channel I may or may not have had a moment of freaking out. I did a search online and finally found a Reddit thread about the hack. If you didn’t know how important you are, even to grown folks, let me tell you…you are important! I've heard of that happening a lot more over the past few years, more often to smaller channels since they are more eager to get games and make content for them. Lessons learned I guess right? Definitely wouldn't recommend accepting zip files or exe attachments in emails unless you have a direct line of contact w/ the developers to confirm that they are the ones who sent it. Glad you were able to get everything sorted and you're back.
Im not one to comment often, but I'm glad to have you back splatt. You are directly responsible for the increasing size of my steam library. Thank you for covering games that I would have otherwise overlooked and for making entertaining videos.

I am a fairly recent arrival to your channel, so don't have the history that a lot of your viewers do. But I was really angry on your behalf when I heard about what happened to your entire online presence, and am now very happy to hear that you've gotten things under control, for the most part. Hopefully Santa brings you a game with Dwarf Necromancers wielding guns that only gets offensive options when they level up to reward you for all of your hard work.

When I saw Splat's channel disappeared I immediately went to his twitch channel and watched him streaming that w40k game. From there I knew that most of Splat's trouble had been solved and it's partly thanks to some of Splat's viewers. Apparently many of the viewers had connections to big and scary people in the government and corporations and they somehow managed to track down the perpetrator.
Glad we could come together to destroy that scum.
So glad to know that! No person should be able to get away with something like this. I've only had my personal convos leaked before by hackers and even something so insignificant sucked big time. Can't imagine the stress of losing everything down to the banking info.
The got the hacker? Sound amazing, one less scumbag on the lose would be great! Wouldn’t it be great if these a-holes got a 10 year ban from using the internet if that was possible?
Hey Splat! I'm joining the chorus, and letting you know you're a good dude. You had no obligation to reach out to the kid, but you took the time to do so; and I could tell you were speaking from the heart. It might seem like a simple, or easy, thing--but it's an important thing. Small acts like that make the world a better place.

I really appreciate what you had to say to the kid; I'm fairly certain had I grown up in more recent decades than I did I would have been diagnosed as autistic, ADHD, or both. But everyone has struggles, and it's awesome to know that there's always someone out there who can understand ours and be a point of support in some way, big or small. I'm so sorry that horrible thing happened to you. But I'm glad you had so many people swoop in to offer their help and support! If society, in general, worked that way, life would be so much better all around. I also loved the time you took out of your video and day to speak directly to a little guy that looks up to you and was genuinely concerned that you were gone.
