They say it's sealed for life, but thats for the life of the warranty on the car. ZF recommend servicing at approx 60K miles.

Great to see you guys getting together. Nice work on the gearbox. When I did mine, I tried to change the mechatronics plastic thing but just wouldn't fit so I ended up refitting the old one which went in perfectly

Exactly! Land Rover and Jaguar both say sealed for life (possibly for the warranty period), but ZF say to service at around 60K miles.
Yes I have had mine rebuilt and definitely change the oil and filter every 50.000 miles for sure great video 👍👍

Sounds like you’re having fun..both of you…remember you could use the gap tool to check the trans temp when refilling….now l might go and do mine..as I have all the bits..just lacking the time..Great video😁
We tried the Gap tool, but the gearbox temperature was N/A on mine. Had to do it old school.
