I appreciate that you ended this video with a tribute to dear Sergei, who wanted to raise Daria and have more children. He was such a handsome, wonderful man, and his passing was so tragic. A few months from now, on November 20, 2023, it will be 28 years since his passing, at the age of 28. 😥

@@exp-io853 Blessed, Good Morning. Sergei was born on February 4, 1967. So a few days ago, he would have turned 57. When he suddenly passed away on November 20, 1995, he was 28. There was so much he still wanted to do. So sad.

@@exp-io853 Hi. Yes, I think we've all cried for Sergei. It's comforting that Katia said Sergei would tell her "Katia, be happy." I try to think of that when I'm feeling sad about Sergei. I think he'd say that to each of us. I try to think of him skating in Heaven. And as Katia wrote in "My Sergei," Father Nikolai, the Russian Orthodox priest she spoke with, told her she will see Sergei again. I hope all of this might help you, as it helps me, when you feel the tears coming on for Sergei. 🙏 🌈
I really cried this tribute of Ekatherina to her husband
It doesn’t matter how many times I watch this or other videos of Katia and her life now and with Sergei….I cry just thinking about it. When she tries to talk about what Sergei means to her , she is still back there with him in her mind. It is heartbreaking to see. However I am happy for her in that she has happiness with her husband and family…she deserves every bit of happiness.
Her book and movie based in her book, were SO touching….see, now I am crying again. What a Gift Sergei was. God Bless you Katia, and Daria. ❤
The love and life story of her with Sergei, is one that cannot be forgotten. The emotion that you felt while watching them skate together was palpable. There has never been a skating pair with the same love and emotion. Everything between them was a first they shared together. Nothing will ever compare..but I am so happy she found Love again…❤

I’m so happy she’s found happiness. Her daughters are beautiful. I have the book My Sergei; their love story is one of my lifetime favorites minus the tragic ending; thank goodness she had Daria at that time. Katya is a ballerina in ice. ❤

I honestly don't know if I can bare to watch this. I sobbed for hours when Sergei died, not just at the loss of Sergei but the paralyzing sadness for Ekaterina. Infact, I stopped watching ice skating all together & haven't watched it since the world lost Sergei. There will never be a more beautiful couple & perfect skating team ever & throughout the years I've prayed that Ekaterina was having a good life. The one consolation I've had was knowing God help anyone that hurts Ekaterina with Sergei just on the other side of the veil....and truthfully I'm sure Ekaterina knows she never ever has to fear death, because her Sergei will be RIGHT there waiting for her.....
We as the public, should be supportive of her. Being a widow is tough enough without being in the public eye. So happy she finally found love again.
We can love more than once in a lifetime. I hope Ekaterina and David Pelletier are happy, living and working in the beautiful province of Alberta in Canada. A country whose weather is similar to her native Russia. 💘💝💖❤🩹

I loved watching them skate in the 80s when I was a little kid. I love Katia. She gets more beautiful with age. What the heck?!
Katia i remember when my grandmother died, her funeral was on my thirteth birthday, i didnt know how i was hoing to pull through. She was my very best friend. I prayed and asked god for a edge, god reminded me of you, he used your story to show me how to find strength beauty in the midst of the ashes, its very very hard with her gone, my birthday the holidays as i attend my second tim tebow prom, in febuary. But like you i have my family, and thats a blessing. I just wanted to say THANK YOU. Im sending a special hug just to you.
Brought tears to my eyes to hear Ekaterina and Sergei love story , he was taken too soon. She was so young to be a widow, but I’m so pleased she met David , and finally found happiness . I thought she and the second husband wasn’t suited for each other.

Few people remember her the way I remember her. I paid attention to her when she was just starting her career. Katya was already an amazingly beautiful girl. And she was always amazingly spiritual. This beauty and spirituality attracted attention and evoked recognition of her true value.
Yes, her love story is tragic.
But few people are given the opportunity to experience such love. This is once in a billion.
Perhaps there is a harsh meaning in this - to stop the melody on the highest note.

I remember that day good, when the tragedy happened. For me, Sergei appeared always like an angel. There was something mysterious about him in a very positive way. Ekaterina survived this because she had little Daria. This life is a mystery and the sense behind it is only known by God. All the pain and the tears will be comforted one day because I truly believe that we meet our loved ones again. Our best friends, children and family are guides through our earthly life. The souls what are connected will always find us again.
She will never love another man like she loved Sergei. He was the love of her life. She's not the same person and never will be. The light has gone from her eyes and her smile. Life is tragic.
How do you know she’s not the same person? And WHY would you even suggest she isn’t or can’t be happy again? Death doesn’t destroy everyone, only the weak. She looks very happy and has a ‘light’ and love in her eyes. Shame on you suggesting she’s unhappy and a different person.
Some ppl move on with their life. Salute to her love for ice skate and Sergei. Sergei left his biggest gift to her, mini Sergei. Daia has daddy's smile.
I know a documentary was made from her book My Sergei but, their love story deserves a biopic movie. This month on April the 20th of ‘91 is when they married. I watched them skate my whole childhood.
In addition, I wish Ilia Kulik well for his future too. The poor man had a lot to live up to, and suffered a lot of negative press. I am glad they both found happiness together for a while, and hope they both find fulfilment in their respective lives.

J'ai été très touchée par cette merveilleuse mais tragique histoire d'amour ! Sergei était un homme superbe, talentueux et aimant ! Un amour qui s'est construit petit à petit passant de partenaire à une amitié de plus en plus tendre au fil des ans tout en passant de l'enfance à l'adolescence puis adulte et qui a donné un amour vrai et unique ! Leur synchronicité, leur talent sur la glace scellés par cet amour merveilleux qui émanait d'eux faisait que les regarder évoluer était un enchantement ! L'évocation de cette période emplie katia de tristesse même plus de 20 ans après ! Sergei était son âme sœur et c'est une vraie tragédie ! De cet amour est né une adorable petite fille qui ressemble beaucoup à son papa ! Elle a été certainement un grand soutien dans les périodes difficiles tout comme sa famille et les amis de Sergei. Katia a refait sa vie et il le fallait elle était très jeune lors du décès mais l'amour qu'elle a pour Sergei restera a tout jamais ! Je continue de les regarder évoluer ensemble sur la glace grace à des vidéos avec admiration mais avec toujours un pincement au cœur ! La vie peut être très cruelle ! Elle leur avait tout donné pour le reprendre très vite! Je lui souhaite que du bonheur ainsi qu'à Daria et toute sa famille.

Katia was never alone. She had A fling with Kurt, a ballet star, finally Liza was born with Ilia. They married. Who knows why they divorced. David was around. Katia has married three gold medal figure skaters. She has a type. Only she knows who she loves the most. Likely the one in the present tense. Sergei def a hunky man!
Just because she had "flings" does not mean she wasn't suffering. I still believe she loved sergei the most.
Oh, I do remember that love affair with Igor Zelensky(a ballet dancer) shortly after Sergei's death. The guy is now rumoured to be President Putin's son-in-law, or at least his daughter's boy-friend.))

Извините, но слово "мечется" как- то не подходит. С Ильёй они прожили 15 лет. Это немало, и мы, ведь, не знаем почему они расстались. Она достойна счастья. С Сергеем это первая любовь. Они оба светились от своих чувств. Невозможно насмотреться как они катались. Все их эмоции у них на лицах. Очень жаль Сергея. И для Кати это был крах не только личной жизни, но и профессионально. Всё надо было пережить. А ей всего 24 года было.

Katia and Sergei had beautiful Daria ( Dasha) who looks just like Sergei. Then, on June 15, 2001, she gave birth to Elizaveta (Liza) Kulik, whose father is Ilia Kulik, her second husband. Katia and her third husband, David Pelletier, have no children together. David has a son with his former wife Jamie Sale, with whom he won the Co-Gold Medal at the 2002 Olympics. I don't think David has any other children.
