  • On this special episode we finally unveil the Christopher Ward’s third generation C60 Trident diver, the Mk3. The CW Trident has been not only popular since its earliest iterations, it’s also been extremely influential. The value proposition that the Trident line has commanded over the years has really set the benchmark for what you can expect to receive in an affordable independent diver. So much so, that it’s even helped pave the way for many other microbrands to really continue a revolution in quality, design, and affordability that has pressured some of the entry-level and even mid-tier mainstream brands to take notice as well, which has helped spur a myriad of updates to the class leading midrange divers. With the Trident Mk3 release, Christopher Ward is once again putting the industry on notice as the bar is raised to unheard of levels, even in the highly competitive Microbrand Diver market. It’s only fitting that the ‘arms race’ of affordable diver improvements and innovations CW helped kickoff, is now thriving and ready for another benchmark release from the brand. The new C60 has cemented the Trident name as a permanent staple of the ‘my first real watch’ conversation and even moved it into the ‘Affordable Grail’ territory as well. Let me know what you think in the comments below, thanks guys!

Addressed the size issue and have progressed the watch remarkably well .looking forward to receiving mine . Own quite a few high end pieces and tend get annoyed when people always assume that expensive must be better . CW prove it’s not necessarily the case , some just like a larger mark up ..

From the previews, I wasn't into the dial design... But the case rework, and the bracelet upgrade, is quite significant here. These C60s now are setting the bar for microbrands, imo - becuase the case now is better done that most micros, the bracelet is way way better, and even the thickness-per-WR is above what micros can deliver.

Tbh, for €1000 (o $1000), there's pretty much nothing that can compete with this, currently. CW's attention to case design & bracelet construction are becoming obvious. Other micros currently cannot compete with this. Damasko still has their case materiality - so they have a good claim at this pricepoint too - but that's about it.

I find it interesting that CW has moved the brand text around to suit the watch. Here, it balances out the date. The 9 o'clock position also makes a lot of sense for keeping the text out of the way of the date, and any sub-circles at the 12 and 6. On other models, they have moved it to the 3, the 12, or removed it entirely. It did take me a while to warm up to it being at the 9, but I can't argue with everything this watch brings for the price. I think 40mm would be more for me, but the 42mm works on your wrist very well. Enjoy!

Made it to the end! ha ha..... Great review. Love the redesign here. That case! Love the new indices and handset as well as the high gloss dark black dial. Since I already have too many watches, I'm really glad they don't offer a version with a SS bezel w/ no lume except triangle....I'd definitely have to get that. I'd also like to see what this looked like if that black ceramic bezel insert had a matte finish. I am one of those that was apoplectic over that huge bright full name branding on the dial like a billboard on their other models. However, I think the font works better on this Mk3. More in keeping with the contemporary styling here. That's not to say I love it but I think it does work. Wish it was less dominant tho. I imagine that In person rather than huge on screen and in pics it may actually look decent or at least not make me nuts.

i have nothing against the branding on the side, but it would look much better with the brand name on the top and their logo on the side, as the logo is basically invisible. Or just have the logo in white on top with the brand name in smaller letter right under it.
the new hands make the watch look sharp and pointy, but not in a good way.
what completely ruined the watch is the removal of the wave pattern. raised patterns is something you (almost every time) have to go to top watches to find. patek, AP etc.
not only did it fit the trident theme perfectly, but it was a sure sign of luxury.
now, it looks cheap. boring and cheap.
    and i have to add...
what are they doing? as soon as they start to establish their brand, they make constant little changes that puts their own fanbase off. i was saving up for a trident but now i cant buy it, because *pooof* it turned to shit over night. the way they started fucking with their logo(s) not knowing what to do, was just the beginning.

This is possibly a paid advert for Christopher Ward. Proceed with that knowledge. I have edited this post because I definitely worded it wrong originally. That is completely on me. I am not trying to warn anyone off this review. I apologize to Average Bros.

@@AverageBros just a free watch. No check. Even a discount is paid advertising unless your subscribers get the same discount. All watches should be reviewed and returned to said brand. No exception.

@@ryanloken3020 Nope, not that black and white. It's not a paid advertisement unless they're dictating the content, which they're not. I'm free to say I hate it, I just don't. Paid commercial? Come on man, get off the fake outrage bandwagon. All industries offer some type of free samples for high visibility accounts in hopes of future purchase potential, those aren't paid commercials, marketing investment, yes. But far from a commercial. Look at my channel, I've purchased >95% of everything I've featured, do you really think I need a 150th wrist watch? So for my reviews to honest, what I should always pay 100% retail? Get out of here with that garbage. I review what I like and I share my thoughts, I avoid reviewing things I don't personally like, one because I don't want to have pay for it, and two even if I can get it for free, why would I accept it just to bash it?
It's mutually beneficial, I can get a watch I want and would already pay for, if I didn't have a YT channel and 150+ watches in my house, and brands get exposure from a member of their target demographic. I've only done one type of paid sponsorship on my channel and I've been EXTREMELY transparent about it, I'll pull a brand and say this segment has been brought to you by so and so, then I talk about a particular subject, not even in a review form.

@@AverageBros You should pay what everybody else pays. Grey market or used is not retail. I am definitely not outraged about this topic. Any watch, swag or merch for free is a paid advert. It just is. My opinion is that all You Tuber's should review products for likes, views and subscribers only. Product goes back to manufacture afterwards. Any kick back and your opinion is what is garbage because it's swayed. If 95% of your collection was bought with your own money I give u props for that. The other 5% should be gifted to subscribers. This C. Ward was gifted to Take Time with Patrick Marlett, Armand the Watch Guy, Adrain from Bark & Jack and Bruce Williams. Are u trying to tell me u paid for yours? Nobody should take the reviews of this watch from these guys listed above seriously. Class dismissed

@@ryanloken3020 Dude, I never said this wasn't a press sample. Me giving away stuff doesn't make my review points and more or less valid. By your logic, my early reviews were somehow more valid when I had less experience with other models. I give stuff away all the time, should I do follow up videos reporting what I give away to friends, so those reviews will somehow become validated? Invest into building your own YT channel then you can give away whatever you want. I get a bonus at work too, should I give that away to earn your respect?
You're literally trying to warn people of a paid commercial, look at my channel history. I was a Christopher Ward fan way before I had any notable subscriber count. I make a review liking something I personally like, I filmed my own thoughts, with my personal gear, and posted to my channel. Christopher Ward didn't invite me over and film my reaction and edit it into a commercial.
