I've told my metalhead buddies that Sleep Token are "probably a bit too pop for metal heads and too metal for pop fans" and yet that thats what I love about them. Some songs are mostly soft with huge swathes of synth and others have this steady build into a breakdown. They really have mastered the use of dynamics by combining those heart wrenching vocals with a crunchy, djenty heaviness just hits me the right way. Their debut record Sundowning was on constant loop when it came out. They are all clearly very talented but the vocals and drumming are really stellar. If you want heavy check out Gods, The Offering or Higher. If you want more balanced mix of the two sides of the spectrum Blood Sport, Jaws and Say That You Will are more appropriate.

The two newest ones aren't particularly heavy, however, they do incorporate a lot of metal elements and have heavier tracks, especially 'Higher' and 'The Offering'. You would definitely be missing out if you didn't listen to more of their catalogue

@@Roguenjosh Higher is SO good. If you want a totally heavy song from them, Gods is a good one.
Imo, the video is set within a heart. The dancers are "feelings" that dance around his heart, and something that Vessel has to battle each day/night. And no matter how much he trains, or how much he feels that he is ready to face them, he is defeated every single time by the power of these feelings, and their ability to transcend the physical realm. The ribbons are a reminder, but also they tie his arteries/veins/valves up, suggesting that he can't fight this battle forever.
This is my favorite song by them. So good

This is definitely on the bands lighter end, but I won't say too much more than that. As someone else has said the Offering and Higher are two great picks, Blood Sport, in particular the 'from the room below' is another great listen for some point in getting into them, but I would suggest doing the Offering before that! Great reaction, excited to see you get into these guys!

The 2 songs that hooked me onto this band were Jaws and Bloodsport (From the Room Below) and my second favorite band is Slaughter to Prevail so there is that. Anyone can find something to love about this band 🤘worship🤘

Gods is potentially the heaviest. But each song is unique and beautiful with a lot of metal aspects. One of my favourite bands, awesome reaction but the wrong song for a first time listen to the band 😉

'Gods' is really the heaviest off of their last album if you want unclean vocals but I'd say listen to 'the offering' as well! It's more on the heavy side but has some light parts that adds more elements and emotion to the song imo

You definitely have to check out more from Sleep Token! One of the most unique bands I have ever heard, style ranges from pure metal to songs like this where it is mostly soft with metal elements incorporated. Recommend trying The Offering and Higher for some "heavier" songs that represent their overall style well. Blood Sport and Dark Signs are also two of my favorites.

Incredible band, and they roam around the heaviness spectrum a fair bit. Definitely check out The Offering or Higher to hear them going harder. Oh, and pay attention to the drummer because that dude is a fucking animal

Oh Sleep Token can be very heavy.
Basically so far their first album and looking like this one as well tend to genre jump. But with a sound that tends to build in a good way.
I need to hear their other songs!
Personally, I would say alkaline is a good balance between the complete heaviness of the offering/gods and their softer tracks like jaws, and it is also featured on their upcoming record. Absolutely bangin chorus too. This and alkaline would be a great introduction to the band and then dipping into their back catalog from the sundowning album and the EPs would be great imo :D loved the reaction lad, so exciting seeing what someone things of these lads in their first listen.

How no one ever mentions Nazareth is bonkers to me. Probably in my top 10 of all time. Give it a listen.
Sleep Token are one of my favourite bands, Sundowning was my aoty for 2019, they have such a unique vibe! They blend all kinds of genres, with djent/prog metal influences added to varying degrees.
The two tracks from their last album that best blend heavier metal tendencies into their vibe are Higher (my favourite) and The Offering. Gods is the heaviest track on the album, and might be an interesting one to check out, but I think it's a track that can be better appreciated after going through the journey and 'getting' the vibe of the album and the band first.
Jaws is an older single from before Sundowning, it's a bit of a rawer sound, but is a great melodic hybrid of pop and prog.
Alkaline was the previous single (only other single released so far for this album), and has a closer feeling to a combination of this track and some sundowning influences, I think better introduced to after The Offering or Higher.
