Just fuckin chills....I am so privileged and lucky to be able to exist during this time period with such beautiful music from so many bands. Enjoy ur weekend everyone
You know a song is amazing when you get goosebumps in both your legs and then tear up at the same time. And what an amazing video. Wow. Wow. Woooooooooooo
The poetry in these songs is off the charts. Hearing " Too many swallowed keys can make you bleed internally." Hit me so deep that I started to tear up as well. Simply hauntingly, entrancing, and elegant.
I am so happy I found this community...I have met some incredible people and have broadened my music taste so much. Here's to another band I have not heard yet. I really enjoyed this song and will certainly have to listen to more of their stuff.
When the drums and piano came in.. OOF. Loved all of this, the tension they build is incredible, love a band that can go from almost anthemic pop to crushing riffs seamlessly, like at any given point blast beats, crushing doom riffs, or a Justin Vernon feature wouldn't feel out of place and blend perfectly haha.
What a gem to find 😭 Didn’t know these folks before but their music is just so, so beautiful. Thanks for the video as always Rachelle, I love adding to my lists 👌
So... every time Vessel is tying a bow it's because he was killed/defeated by the dancers/spirits? Must be some sort of trial he's going through bc we see the dancers using the same hand movements V uses in Alkaline. This would also go along with the theme of the song, wanting to love someone you're extremely close to, while they don't want you but also don't want to lose you. So you're stuck in limbo between not wanting to lose the other person and wanting to get away and forget them. What a deep, hopefully optimistic song.
Man they never disappoint beautiful execution alot of the things that sleep token do are in this one song, while still bringing something new to the table. When the second verse came in with the jazzy piano bar vibes, that was the highlight for me.And they still at the end gave you that breakdown that they do with the drums going off.Beauituful and brilliant
I love a lot of different music genres, so sleep token ticks all the boxes for me, what an amazingly talented group, can't wait to see them in april, love the reaction as always, i enjoy your appreciation of the music, all the best.
Loved the reaction! Enjoyed your discussion as I feel you touch on all the, as you put it, diversity of this band. Sleep token is definitely something special! Definitely subbing to the channel! Worship.
The more I've listened to Sleep Token, the more I've picked up about their style. Even though they have a highly varied sound, there are consistent elements to the songs that make them work so well on their own and in respect to the rest of their discography. Vocally, a lot of the melodies are very simple and repetitive. They pick a handful of core melodies, then repeat those with slight variation. As a result, you get these songs where the instrumental can progress hugely over the duration of the track, yet it all feels consistent since the vocal is an anchor. Sometimes the instrumentals don't quite make a lot of sense on their own. For example in this song, that intro synth is pretty wacky and would sound very different without the vocal smoothing everything out. My single critique about the song and band is I feel like the vocals are maybe too consistent at times. I feel like vessel has this amazing upper register that we don't get to hear solo all that often, it's usually saved for background layers or harmonies. I want to hear him just really flex towards the end of the song when the instrumentals explode, rather than restraining. There were some really unique instrumental elements on this song. I've never heard that type of performance on the drums on a ST track before - very delicate with lots of bell work in the second verse. It was gorgeous, mixed in with that piano. We got some beautiful passages on the keys that stood out to me. I did think it was interesting that they opted to bring in the heavy guitars towards the end. The song absolutely did not need it, but they really made it work so I'm not gonna complain. That groovy part towards the end was awesome.
To those who were confused on the music video. So vessel objective was to kill the spirits (the women), and the ribbons represent him dying to them every single time.
I think maybe… this all takes place in the heart. I wondered if the fighting represents a relationship where you battle to make it work. In the end the stabbing represents heartbreak. The ribbon taken from the woman is a severing of ties. The tying of the ribbon on blood vessels represents scars? ❤️🩹💔🖤 I love it! I may be totally off base though.
One thing I find pretty cool is that most of the songs can certainly pass as a song about relationships, so a casual listener could appreciate the lyrics almost as much as a diehard Sleep Token fan can.
@@danes123 absolutely, and this song will definitely reach a wider audience as well. The drums are killer as always and will have them working though the back catalog for sure!
Gorgeous song. Different vibe compared to Alkaline. I think we're going to get another very diverse album, like Sundowning was and I'm all for it. I cannot help but mention the drummer too every time I hear a new song. He did such a good job again. I feel like his drumming elevates the songs to a whole new level of awesomeness.

That second verse, my heart. So beautiful.
Frick.
They're incapable of making a bad song, which is even more impressive considering they're so vastly diverse with their music.
Well said!
2 years later this comment has aged like fine wine, couldnt be more true
I found this song as a recommended song on CZcams at 7 am when I couldn't sleep. Didn't sleep for another hour because I kept repeating the song.
I definitely needed this today of all days. Perfect

You said that right bud.
Honestly, I almost teared up, such a beautiful song, and those drums near the end. WOW

September needs to hurry the hell up already lol. I can't wait for this album and Eternal Blue!

Such a magnificent band.
Love your reactions, they’re very genuine and you don’t stop the song every two seconds which I deeply appreciate

You should start your own reaction channel
@@moodmusic4life I don't think that sort of thing is for me 😂 but I appreciate it
His voice was MUCH higher 10 years ago, trust me, this register is super low for him, but probably he got convinced that its a lot better, and it is
Oh I was waiting for this one! lol Sleep Token is AMAZING ! Worship!
Aww shit Rachelle is a real one, sub'd bby
thank you! 🖤
Heck

Dang this got me in the feels
You gotta check out the newest archspire single that Just Came out, golden mouth of ruin is fucking sick

Aaaaa there's another almost two months! Very great track, but not at all surprised. They can't put out a bad tune.
...para caminar por la playa en un atardecer

Dude this is Grammy caliber music, how is this band so small still?
Watch them live if you get the chance. If you think it couldn't better, I have good news. It could. And it does.
You have to react this bruttal band.. deadsquad - murder 🤘🇮🇩
it still do not understand why, Sleep Token has only 28k Subs!? I mean seriously, do you not hear this!?
It's kinda interesting, the song structure of this and alkaline are identical.
Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, chorus 2
What a video.
what's her intro song?
