- This episode is from an enjoyable session at Mount Batten with my Big Lerf comrades Ben and Joe. We found some interesting species from amongst the boulders and finished the day fishing metals, which produced some good sport.

No harm nor insult meant. Buuut, what a fantastic ploy by tackle manufacturers to sell more kit. Seriously tho, forget the artificials and use a tiny harbour rag or piece of raw mussel to catch the kids fishies.

Another good one my legs are too dodgy to get down on the rocks at Mountbatten pier I guess I could probably drop a line down between them at high tide from inside the rail
Cheers Kenneth. Yeah it's possible to fish straight down the wall from the rails at high tide, it can be a really productive time 🙂

You guys make lure fishing for salty creatures seem very possible for this diehard "baiiter!"...lol. Have you ever thought of taking your skills to the Florida coast? Only been fishing there once but very colorful specimen.
Haha, it does help that we have some great marks for lure fishing down this way 🙂 LRFing in Florida would be an absolute dream, one day, hopefully! 🤞🎣

How very sad to see grown men with fishing rods and reels doing what I used to do as a child over 60 years ago with string and a hook with a winkle for bait.
