Thank you guys for the support on this video so far! I really appreciate it. These type of videos take a lot of work and time so I bang with y'all heavy for banging with me. Feel free to share what type of video you want to see next. Love yall lots!
I'd like to see the follow up on this video. Which side lasted longer?
Jamie Ambrose I posted in the video that I wore this style for six days and the moisture was the same
@@SheReaDelSol Oop, i missed that part, thanks for letting me know! It's good to know I'm not doing it all wrong lol, sometimes I dont use oil at all though so I think that the products used are the most important.
Can someone explain to me how the lco method works when adding gel/doing a wash n go
Beautiful hair.......and the rule on how to do natural hair is there r no rules lolz. Each head of hair likes what it likes...
Very much so!
Exactly because I don’t use oil at all
💯💯
QueenJoose LaMonica yes! That’s right! 👏🏾👏🏾
Everyone’s hair type has different elements. So I’m learning in this natural hair journey that some days I need to switch up with the products I have on hand, and just adjust to the way my hair reacts to certain hair products, not the other way around. Since I have been doing that my hair has started growing back more healthier , thicker and the curls are popping! Love these videos! 😊
my rule is it might work today, but tomorrow is a brand new day..I'm still learning my hair lol
When I first went natural all I heard was use the LOC method. I tried it but my hair always felt dry. Once I learned about the LCO method, I tried that and have never switched back. LCO definitely works for my hair. 😊
Glad you found something that works!
Sassy Fro what of your scalp. How do you moisturize it
is your hair low or high porosity?
The LCO side looks more elongated to me and looks like it has more movement.
Lol, my fan was blowing that side of my hair. I assure you it had the same movement.
SheRea DelSol around 14:24 I didn’t see movement when you showed us the LOC side but you were there in IRL....like u said just moisturize de hair!!
@@LuClu81 Yup, it was probably just the way I turned my body to the fan lol. Thanks for watching love
@@SheReaDelSol
What oil did you used?
Please respond, Thank you.. 😊
Glamorous BAILY# LOVE my own DIY oil but you can use any oil of your choice
I lean towards LCO.
I can tell the difference more when I wait several minutes between applying the layers, but I agree - just moisturize. It really benefits the hair. 🙂👍🏼💯😊
Yes girl
I have med-high porosity 4c low-medium density and tried the LCO method. Within 24hrs my hair felt bone dry. I went back to my LOC method and hair moisturized for a week and a half. Mine is probably more LLOC(water, leave-in, oil, cream). A year later tried LCO again with a heavier oil and hair stayed moisturized for 3 days and then was bone dry. I'm sticking with LOC 🤷🏾♀️
Glad that works for you
To me, LCO makes more sense logically. It's always worked better for me. That leave-in and cream you used are BOMB!
The t-shirt towel is great too. TFS.
Same! But after this experiment, I found it didn’t really matter. I’m still sticking to my LCO. Thanks for watching love.
You are right, I do both and can't tell the difference. When I ask people they really can't explain the difference either. LOL. Heck as long as my hair is moisturize, I don't care.
I was definitely team LOC don’t make no damn sense, but I’ve changed my ways lol
It depends on how your hair reacts my hair stays moisturized longer with LOC. Also I notices when I put the oil on b4 the cream it locks in the water quicker as the water leaves my hair as quickly as it goes in. The cream is just to lock it in even more but it is not as sealing as oil. So when i put the cream on first the moisture leaves quicker and by the time I put the oil on the water has evaporated 50%. The cream is just to give me definition fir styling not to moisturize, the water and leave-in is the moisture for me
@@kapparhotau181 thank you. There is definitely a difference, especially if you have high porosity hair, which it sounds like you have. Our hair absorbs products quickly, but it also loses moisture just as fast
“I’m heavy handed” 🤣🤣 love how heavy handed you are, a little does not goes a long way😬
LOL, I can't help it.
I find damp hair much better to apply products too.
That was really the game changer for me
Yes, when I first went natural I didn't know that the hair should be damp. Once I realized that it needed to be damp, my hair didn't look or feel as dry. 😊
@@sassyfro7954 Same!
Same here !
Love this video because yes, moisturize your hair!! I have using the LCO for years as well and thank goodness for my OG youtubers like you, who helped guide me in the right direction. Thank you for sharing!!
Me? OG? I’m flattered. Glad I’ve been helpful on your journey
I don't use neither of those methods. I'm high porosity and I just mix all my hair products together and it works for me.
LOL! Gotta do what works
Oh ?? Hmmm.. The lazy natural in me wants to try this. Wha all do you mix together?
@@knittingarch I use As I Am curl enhancing smoothies. The different types of oil, example coconut oil, castor oil and avocado oil. And a thick leave in conditioner. I place some of each in an empty container and mix well, then use. (I go a little heavy on the coconut oil since my hair loves it) 😉
kekoadestiny1 Oooh ! I didn't e en know As I Am had a smoothie! I love their products. Will pick some up when I'm out of my other smoothies! Thanks for the tip 🙏🏿
@@knittingarch You're welcome hun.
I will be trying the LCG method, liquid/leave in, cream, grease. Im high porosity so I need to really seal in that moisture
That's EXACTLY what I do and it's the 💣💣💣💥💥💥
@@valenciataylor7872 im hoping it will help especially with sealing my ends, cuz I need to retain all my length. I got the Nature's Blessings pomade aka grease from Amazon. Its alot lighter than regular grease and has really good ingredients. So fingers crossed its works lol.
LOL Nature's blessings used to be a staple in my house.
@@SheReaDelSol lol hopefully it works well for my hair.
I want to try that grease too. I’m just trying to finish using up my doo gro grease
Ive tried both on my daughter who has low porosity hair. But I found that her hair did extremely well with L.C.O.C. the last C is just another layer of cream.
That's awesome!
What products are you using in her hair for the LCOC steps?
@@minimalassembly7893 It depends on what I have. I typically any of these products - Cantu shampoo, conditioner and leave in, herbal essence hello hydration shampoo, conditioner, texture id clarify shampoo, moisturizing conditioner, deep condition mask, mane choice 3and1, she moisture manuka deep condition, shea moisture jamaican black deep condition mask, olive oil protein pack, DIY oil mix and or shea butter mixture.
Your hair is freaking gorgeous!!!
Thanks so much!
Your hair looks absolutely beautiful I'm with the LOC method 💜💜💜
Thank youuuu. Hope all is well
This is the first video I've ever seen where the amount of product used is shown. I have low porosity hair too and now I understand why these methods never gave me extended moisture. Looking fwd to trying again. Thanks for this video!!! Your hair looks beautiful. 🙌😘😇
Check back in with me after you try it out.
The wind blowing in your hair was fantastic.... like a commercial for conditioner 😊
Or imma die without the fan lol
You seriously have one of the best personalities on CZcams. I truly wish you the best girlie girl 😘
Thanks so much
Just stumbled on your channel, I agree - love your personality and nice full pretty hair. I plan on taking better care of my low prox. thin hair after watching. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
yes ur skin is flourishing
You think? Thank you! I'm really not doing anything differently.
The LOC method was made and invented by a lady called Chicoro hopefully I spelled her name right, she is a black chemist I believe she even wrote a book check it out! Facts! Thanks chic😘😘😘!
I remember her. Guess Rochelle got it from her
Thanks for the clarification. I accidentally did the lco method one day, rushing, and bout had a heart attack because I thought I had messed up. Turns out there really is no difference. I would love to see a video on your favorite products. I know they smell amazing!! Lol ❤❤
LOL!
I prefer the LCO method esp for my lowpo hair
I did too but I really found it don't matter lol
I shared the LCO method 10 years ago on a natural hair forum and got ripped to shreds. 😂 Glad to see it’s a trend. Switching up what you consider to be a liquid changes the game. A leave in vs a detangler vs honey aloe Vera juice or combos changes the way a styler works and can save you from having to throw away “ bad” product.
Honestly.
2:16 your hair swallowed that leave in ❤️ it was satisfying
My hair loves this stuff lol
Yes!! You look gorgeous and thanks for the reminder about moisturizing our hair. Love the volume.
Thank you so much hon
Great informative video, visually for me the LOC side looks slightly just slightly more define and shiny the LCO look like it may have retained some of the products (flakes) wise
Thanks for watching hon
Great video. I just started wearing my hair natural & was confused about these methods. You saved me a lot of time! Thanks so much!
You are welcome
I don’t use either of these because I’m anti oil lol, but this was interesting. Great video as always girl💕
You anti everythang lol. Thanks for watching boo!
LMAO just oil and shea butter🤷🏾♀️
Reesha Miller what do you use? Most of the time Liquid and Cream is enough moisture but sometimes it needs more.
Dropping gems the 👏🏾entire👏🏾video👏🏾
I be trying
Please do a follow up video to let us know if either side stayed moisturized longer.
Did you watch to the end, babe?
@@SheReaDelSolyes, but there was an ad for another video over the writing at the end. I can not read what it says. The video was up to day 4. What did I miss? Did one side outlast the other?
Oh I need to move that! I didn’t realize, sorry girl. It lasted six days until wash day. My hair felt the same on both sides.
Hi SheRea; Your hair is looking Healthy. Also, Your Skin is Glowing. Keep , Loving Yourself and Hair!😘😊😙
Thank you so much
I like aloe Vera juice as my liquid but I’m high porosity.I don’t use it all the time tho.I definitely use a heavy creams on my hair.My hair just sucks it up
Aloe vera definitely got a little bit more oomph than water
My hair is color treated and I also use Aloe Vera juice. I noticed it takes my hair longer to dry and appears to be slightly elongated.
Liquid - water
Cream - As I am moisturiser or sometimes i use shea butter cream
Oil - I use wild growth oil or either avocado
Yet my hair is still DRY. woke up this morning and my hair felt like straw!! I'm going to start using coconut oil and seeing if it works...
yes, sis! i’m newly natural & low porosity. i would LOVE a video on some of your favorite moisturizers. 🙏🏽☺️
Soon come!
SheRea DelSol thank youuuu 💜
I really feel there is no difference. All the products mix together when you put them on your hair anyway
Right
@@snkssd_ It doesn't matter?
Thanks for the information! I have used the LOC and now will try the LCO to see if I get better results! New subscriber. I belive our hair is the same!
Let me know!
Moral of the story: Moisturize your d**n hair. Lmao! Loved the video. Your hair is always gorgeous! Thank you!
Thanks so much!
😄💯
I mostly use oil on my scalp and edges. I don’t feel like oil adds extra moisture to my hair since the creams I use already have oils in them.
It depends on the cream, but you're right.
I haven't been using oils but going back to it
Same!
Yessssss boo LCO for me and I grease my scalp bc my scalp stay dry. 4b and high porosity girl is a mess😫 I tried the LOC and Ive tried the LOCO too! But LCO is a must! Btw tfs love🥰
TFW hon
Thanks for this video! I’ve been wondering if there is a difference between the two methods. But you said it best! Just moisturize your hair! Lol. Your hair looks bomb as always love!
Thank you love!
Girl...that fan took me out!!!!! 😂😂🤦🏽♀️ lmaooo, but this was such a good video and the results are so beautiful 🤗🥰🥰
I lived in a hot place lol
I love the LCO method, but I recently started LOCO method and my hair stays moisturized for 5 days in a protective style.
That's great!
*Hey SheRea♥Thank you so much for this video...very informative.*
Glad it helped
I think LCO makes the most sense tbh
I see why you’d say that
Yeah oil seals the moisture
I'm high porosity and LOC beats LCO. I tried to force LCO to work cus it makes more sense in my head but it just ends up dry with the oil sitting on top of my hair, I think hair gets "filled to capacity" somewhere along the process, so the order people do probably has a lot to do with their porosity. Even LC and LL and just C work for me but LCO is always a disaster lol
Glad you figured it out!
You Welcome, 👑!
Whatever works, just do it lol.. great video!! 😍😍😍
I had to be honest lol
Your results are gorgeous!!!!

That is what I am here for!
I recently big chopped bald and it’s been 4 months and my hair is about 2.5 inches however it’s so dry. I don’t remember my hair being this dry. If I don’t moisturize everyday it feels so rough and hard. I cut my mbl 4b 4c hair to try something different and it sure is different lol
Try layering your moisture or deep conditioning with steam
Be careful spritzing your hair with water daily IF you have hard water. That will make anyones hair hard and crunchy munchy lol
You can try something more acidic and closer to scalps ph like aloe vera juice or fermented rice water.
What are you moisturizing your hair with? I don't know if you use a leave in conditioner or not, but when I started using a leave in conditioner my hair stopped feeling as dry. Leave in conditioners really help. 😊
After washing your hair try sealing with a grease or butter. I find I have moisture all week long. Fellow type 4 natural !!🤗
Loved this video, super useful!!!
Very helpful and informative. Thank u Lady!
You are so welcome
Great video sis 🙂
Thank you sis!
When I started my natural hair journey almost 7 years ago, I did the LOC method. I then tried the LCO method and never went back. Once a week I wash, deep condition, LCO then style. My go to style is twist outs. I also try to trim every 6 months or twice a year.
Thanks for sharing
Beautiful twist out results! I use the LCO method, and sometimes the LCB method or the LCG method.
Thanks for watching lol
If you do the LCO or LOC method, when would you apply your gel or mousse??
after the C. I planned to do a video breaking that down
Just recently discovered your channel, I love it! I’m new to the DIY ( Do it Yourself) natural hair world. I’m not familiar with the natural hair language and most of the abbreviated words like LOC (Liquid, Oil, Conditioner) & LCO (Liquid, Conditioner, Oil). I would love to see the word list defined. I want to learn the correct definition when it relates to our hair. Thank you!
It seems to make a difference on my hair. I've been doing LOC for years before I even knew it was a type of method, then in the past year I switched to the LCO because I thought it made more sense. But then my hair seemed to always feel more dry and matte and tangle easily, just felt even more course, wasn't sure why. Then I went back to putting oil on first, and it has to be first right after water then any other leav-ins last, and it's been feeling soft moisturized longer again. So idk, it must make it difference on certain hair types.
Glad you found what works for you!
When you think about it LCO makes the most sense anyway , with LOC , your sealing in water instead of the leave in
The LOC side looks darker, more relaxed and hydrated.
You think? That is interesting, it really was the same lol
LCOer here! And Yes would love to see what your fav products are
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I do the LCGO method and leaves my hair super soft
Layering definitely helps
I’m LCO girl all the way🤗
Yuppp lol

My hair love the LOCG method
Niccepaye 18 what’s the G stand for?
G=Grease like blue magic
Niccepaye 18 ohhh okay
Oh you go hardddd lol
@@SheReaDelSol yes! loc/lco isn't enough for my thirsty and dry hair so blue magic saved my life.
Love your shirt! FACTS!!!✊🏿
Thanksss sis
"Just moisturize your damn hair!!!" Best Line Ever! omg the internet can be so critical about what we do with our hair, thank you for this!
You’re welcome!
Ohh yes the LCO method has always worked for my 4C hair. Water is always my liquid of choice.
✊🏾
Hey love!! I've been doing the LCO method for years but don't think I've dabbled with the LOC method much, unless I did it by accident and just don't remember lol. Your hair looks so lush, both sides are so moisturized! And you were dropping gems throughout, I think I finally realized I'm low porosity for sure lol, or at least 70/30 if that's possible lol. Great video.
LOL thanks for watching girl
Can you do a video on how to do 3strand twist, please.
There's a bunch on YT. This is the video that taught me: czcams.com/video/XR9cE8uFdJ8/video.html
LCO makes more sense to me. If oil seals in moisture, it also seals it out. What’s the point in putting a cream on top of oil?!?! None of the moisture or nutrients from the cream will get in, so what’s the point?
That's what I use to think, but it is a bit more complicated than that. I just didn't;t delve into the science in this video
Creme vs leave-in: what is thr difference?
Water vs moisturizer: what is the difference?
Both pretty
Hey boo. great to see you
Hope you're well
Y’all I’m 14 bout to be 15. Been natural for about 3 years and I’m struggling. My hair has gotten length in the last 3 years but not as much as I’d like. I notice my hair is very dry, and there’s a lot of breakage in the back perimeter of my head (though it’s not as noticeable when I brush it) I’ve been doing slicks back to back so I’m guessing that’s what’s causing the breakage back there. So to be sureI am gonna cut down on that to see if my hair does improve. Besides that, no product(s) I use helps my hair to retain moisture as when I first started. I used to melt Shea butter and add some oils along with a leave in before applying it, (I totally forgot which leave in it is). The eagerness to own products when I first started got in the way and now I’m completely lost. My hair is not nearly as soft and is always so brittle and dry with oil just sitting on top of it. I truly do need help. With corona coming around it has stopped me from doing as much protective styles (braids, twists, crochet, etc.) Finding out my hair porosity is also a struggle. I’ve don’t the floating hair trick but I’ve heard it’s inaccurate. I need all the help I can get. Any suggestions?
Just moisture you damn hair! LOVE IT!!!💓
LOL
Girl, you had us watch that whole thing to say that both are fine? 🤣 Overall, nice job and thank you for the info.
LOL thanks
I think the lco method works good for low prosisty hair.
When I do LOC my hair ends up being really oily vs LCO it doesn’t feel oily or dry.
Okay you made me laugh 😁😁 “just moisturize you freaking hair” is correct. I had to laugh b/c I thought you had a fan on yourself like a photo shoot just being extra. Then you mentioned it was warm...sorry Sis 😆.
LMAOOOO
So I use to do LOC but now I'm going start doing the lco method
Your hair is gorgeous! I do lco too, but glad to know it doesn't make a difference.
Thanks for watching
Yeah I always do the oil last
Love your hair and your shirt!! Where did you get it?
It’s super old
I’m high porosity & I did the LCO & that thing was dryyyyy. I finally switched to LOC(G or B) which is Grease or a butter lol & my hair has been growing like weeds so idk what happened 😂😂
YAY!! Happy for you!
Same here lol I think it’s based on the hair porosity
I feel like the lco makes my hair shinier, only
Difference I’ve noticed
LCOB for me
I feel ya!
I’m thinking of trying in reverse: CLO, COL, OCL, and OLC
I just do LO because I have high posterity and it works pretty good for me
@@actingkita513 Thanks Sis 💗
I think it matters over time... which method required you to go in with more products first?
The moisture lasted on both sides
For the C can you use shea butter? And if you're doing lco does the oil have to be a heavier oil like castor oil to lock in moisture ? Or are lighter oils like avocado oil okay?
The C can be a butter, yes. If you look at my diagram, I included avocado oil as an option. It's really up to you, what oil you use.
To me, it looks like there is residue on the LCO side. The LOC side doesn’t have that white build up.
Thank you so much for this video. I appreciated it! You remind me of me! I trued both method splitting my hair down wn the middle and I prefer LCO better in my own hair. I also preferred the LCO Method in ur hair. It seemed more flowy! Thanks again!
Glad it was helpful!
