  • This is my classic 1975 Honda Civic 1200, not CVCC! In this video we do a cold start and test drive! Overall a very clean survival with little to no rust! This cars equips with many Delux items such as the wood grain steering wheel and overhead console! It also has a two speed semi automatic transmission! Comment if you have any questions.

    My first car in 1974 was a 1974 Honda Civic hatchback. 4 speed. White with black interior. I added a center floor console and wood shift knob. I still have the black plastic knob. I also replaced the 12 inch wheels with 13 inch wheels. Had the car 6 years & 60k miles and sold it for what I bought it for. I am surprised to see your 1975 has survived this long!

      Hey thanks for the comment! People stop and talk to me all the time telling me they had one back in the day! Pretty popular cars I guess haha. Wish mine was a 4 speed like yours but ya it is in pretty great condition for its age!

    My friends mom had one of these, and I remember taking a ride for hours and hours. I remember it never broke down and it never gave any problems.

    Love videos of old cars. This goes to proof that cars from the past were reliable till the end. Great video

    I just love that! I had the same Civic with 4 doors in exactly the same colour and the Hondamatic gearbox! In mine, only one oft the two gears worked, but it was a very reliable car and I miss it! Later, I had the Accord Mark I and it was even better. With Michelin Snow tires it was very good in the snow and I never needed chains here in Switzerland! Take care of it, they must be very rare today. I hadn't seen one for a long time!

    • @Mechanic_kid
      @Mechanic_kid  Před 3 lety +1

      This car actually had the same problem! First gear did not work! Ended up being a very easy fix I just had to adjust the shift linkage cable. They are getting pretty hard to find especially in this good of condition and no rust! Thanks for sharing about yours, that's awesome!👍

      @@Mechanic_kid Oh God, if I had known that before! I changed the automatic transmission fluid and it didn't work, so I drove thousands and thousands of kilometers in second (I know that it at least has a torque converter).
      A weak point is the timing belt, which tensioner dismantled in Southern Spain at a time where there was NO Honda dealer in whole Spain! Another problem is the metal bar (part of frame) that is at the front end of the car and that started to rott out. A big plus is the indestructible starter motor who is almost stronger than the engine itself! LOL!

    Just subscribed. Looks like you have cool content. My first cat was a 1975 Honda Civic. It had a stick shift and it was brown. Got it from my Aunt/Uncle. They’d had it since it was new. Wish I still had it.

      @@Mechanic_kid That’s good. I had a 79 Cadillac Seville and sold it for $500 and a 1984 El Camino that I regret selling too! I corrected the problem almost 4 years ago when I bought a 77 Seville!
