    Honestly , people saying that the equivalent cameras are 3..4 times as much... nope... there is nothing else like this... this is the mother of all cameras so far. I hope they do well and other manufacturers follow. We needed this shake before cell phones cameras started eating away at low end and middle class DSLRs ...

    Thanks for the great review. Excellent camera. Always trusted cameralabs more than other websites (they are often too biased) who test camera gear. As to the video footage of this GFX100, it is, as is the case for other stills cameras, okay IMO but rolling shutter is noticeable. However, stabilization on this GFX100 is almost as good as that on dedicated camcorders. Would be interesting too see true unbiased nighttime footage out of this 'Fuji machine' -- must be miraculously good like nothing that has ever been before :)

    @EGlideKid Před 5 lety

    Sure ... it’s pretty amazing.
    But ...
    Show Lightroom importing say, 50 photos. Then show LR developing one on a typical fast iMac or PC.
    Don’t use LR? Sow it using some other program. How much does image size affect processing speed?
    What about when doing panos or HDR’s?
    My point? Will I have to buy a new computer to handle the images?
    Other questions/comments:
    Grey color not that great. Not “sexy”.
    Soft plastic looking vertical grip weird, possibly slippery. How are the ergonomics?
    Not convinced SD cards were the best way to go.
    How much are the lenses? Am guessing the average price is $2k+?
    I understand it has good stabilization, but at 102mp, just how careful do you have to be to not get blur at lower shutter speeds?
    Total weight with two batteries?
    Gordon’s right, the buttons are too small.
    My desire would be to see similar goodies on a 40mp body.

    The area of the pixels of the GFX100 is roughly the same of the Olympus O-MD E-M10 and half that of the GFX S . If the noise difference to the GFX S is quite negligible then it must be the BSI sensor to achieve that. And in respect to the EM-10 the processor.

    • @cameralabs

      @WMedl Před 5 lety

      @@cameralabs Thank you for the quick answer. In some Tests the noise behaviour of the X-T3 was rated inferior to that if the X-H1 and that was attributed to the (minor) magnification of pixels by 2M. The X-T3 has a BSI sensor, the X-H1 not. Some critics assumed the poorer results resulted in the neglection of the reduction of the base ISO in the X-T3.

I believe that with a pixel pitch of 3.76um (even with a BSI sensor) the DLA will be considerably low, wich can reduce the full potential (and the image quality) of this sensor in lower aperture. 4:46 I see even Fuji's higher-end cameras have this same problem with the live view. My XT-30 does this exact same thing occasionally (darkening and becoming choppy), especially if I have a non-native lenses adapted on.
    Kind of a non issue, as half pressing the shutter button clears it out, but still pretty annoying. hopefully Fuji will fix it at some point. Kind of nerve-racking when you've just paid $1,000 for a mid-range camera, but basically unacceptable on a $10,000 camera!

    6X6cm is where medium format starts and this is not near that. The lens mounts are screwed to the lenses with 4 microscopic screws, screwed into threaded plastic. I'd think real hard about spending 10 grand on this fuji "hype" buy me camera.

    • @cameralabs
      @cameralabs  Před 4 lety

      I agree 6x6, or rather 6x4.5cm is where medium format starts for FILM but for digital the sensor become so expensive that anything larger than 35mm format is considered medium format by the industry. I do mention other formats in my other GFX videos.

      The glass is soft when it comes to easily scratching the front element .. It's a mushy kinda scratch I did with a 18-55mm kit lens. The Nikon nano coating is the only way to go! I have a 19mm PC-e, with a bulbous front element and the dust just falls off. Fujinon needs to address that issue before they attempt any similar design.!
      I will say that they are very sharp with no scratches! I will absolutely give them that!

    • @Delphisteve
      @Delphisteve Před 4 lety

      Let's face it. Who caps their lenses? The caps come off in the bag,"which will happen"! Keep the hood on and rear cap in place but never front cap your lenses. Unless of course it has a locking lens cap like the 19 PC-e Nikkor.

      It's a press trip, you go to where they hold the launch event or you don't see the product. Some are a few miles away in an office, others are further afield. I've been going on them for 25 years and have never let them taint my reviews. I wouldn't have lasted this long as a journalist if it had. That's why I always point out the bad as well as the good. But you're right to question anyone presenting reviews regarding their background and history.

      @@Murphy252000 I think it's worth looking at the differences between proper journalists (press) and influencers. When companies work with influencers, it's normally sponsored with expectations and deliverables, which is fine so long as it's all declared. When it's press, there's no expectations, we can say whatever we want. We might not get invited to the next event, but in my experience, most companies take the punches and don't mind honest critique so long as it's fair. I should also say I've never experienced any company offering payment for positive coverage. Again though the key as a consumer of reviews is to know something of the background of the reviewer themselves. Do you trust them?

      It serves an extremely tiny market, so I'm pretty sure a lot of people don't see the need for an extremely large sensor with an absurd resolution, especially at that price.
      That said, $10k is really high for a camera, but it's also worth pointing out that Fuji has somehow managed to cram all of that and make it cost significantly less than the equivalent Hasselblad, which is at least 3x the price.
