    Dig the positive review, especially since I just got one. Regarding image circle, some of the EF lenses from Canon work with a straight on adapter. My pancake 40mm from Canon works flawlessly using the Viltrox EF to GFX adapter.

    I don’t know who’s the engineer you talk to that the vertical grip is more on aesthetic. It was designed to dissipate heat especially when shooting 4k 16bit raw. Sony has that problem does put limitations on how long to shoot 4k video. Same principle as attaching aluminum to computer processors to draw out heat.

    That premista lens for cinematography is available for pre-order (August 2019 delivery) for a mere $38,800. Buy it in NYC and pay additional $3400 sales tax.

    You vid, is the only vid on CZcams that talks about buffer clearing ! Wow 1 Minute to clear the buffer! That's how fast my 11 megapixel Canon 1Ds clears the buffer!

    • @vistek
      @vistek  Před 5 lety +1

      Thanks for the comment SL. To be fair, as I mentioned in the video - I was using a 90mb/s card. You really need a 300mb/s card for this camera. The buffering significantly improves with faster media. Also - it's a huge sensor, so even using a slow card, 1 minute to clear the buffer is still wildly impressive IMO.

    You can use Canon TS-E lenses, the Image circle fits perfect, especially for architecture photography very interesting!!!

    • @vistek
      @vistek  Před 5 lety

      While that's possibly true, it still doesn't serve the need of cinematographers who require all the specific design elements of a dedicated cinema lens. For the record, Sigma ART lenses also fit this sensor - but again, they're photo lenses.

    This and one other video I've seen are miles ahead of other introductions to the camera. In terms of market, I believe besides obviously professionals, there will be huge demand from the baby boomers who have plenty of "hobby" cash and are always looking for something new, bigger and better (this is not a put-down). Putting myself in that category, I ordered from B&H June 18 and there is neither hide nor hair of my camera (I stocked up on three Fujinon lens from various sources). They have not debited my credit card. My hunch is Fuji understated demand for this monster and is running the factory 24/7. Would be curious for any info on that. Fuji has an inflating problem, but a good one for them.

      Hi Johan! Thanks for the comment. It's just a VHS effect. Easy to recreate in Premiere. Just search for it on CZcams - that's what I did.

    The only problem I have and what prevents me from picking up one in a heartbeat, is to open annother line of new lenses...
    Having nearly everything from Nikon I want it is nasty to buy 3-4 lenses again and even worse have them as additional luggage.
    Switiching completely is also not an option, because there is a real need for "normal" DSLRs in my workflow.
    Most Jobs I accomplish with 24 and less MP, where even my D850 is too hefty.
    But für exhibition work, art and large printinted commercial the GFX 100 would be a welcome addiition.

    200mb RAW files? I think you were shooting RAW uncompressed, it will be 100MB lossless compressed files when the setting is adjusted.. still big files but its a 100 MP camera, no one expects 5mb files natively

    Holds it's value for a decade..? Are you really believe that? No digital camera has hold it's value for more than a few years.

      True but when you look like at dinosaurs like Nikon D3 D4 .. D1 . They are expensive even today .
      Yeah gfx 100 lost 55% of its value now . But being such a rare camera I’m more than sure it will gain the value later in the future

    1/500s or faster on Hasselblad? You need to work on your camera craft. 1/focal length works fine with MF cameras, including Hasselblads with huge mirrors. Come on guys, don't exaggerate.
