From my understanding, the showerhead filters do not soften the water (get rid of calcium and magnesium), but it does get rid of other sediments and contaminants. So the water coming out of the shower is still hard (a common problem if you're in CA). That is a possible explanation for the rust/buildup on the showerhead.
In order to soften the water, you need a dedicated filter for it that is usually pricier. Still, that showerhead is better than nothing at all. I personally use the aquabliss showerfilters but am looking for actual better softeners, thanks for sharing!
yesss lol I learned that after so pls excuse me. I feel like I got that from the marketing of it somewhere along the lines. Thank you!
Best review I’ve seen!!
Omg ty this means so much!!
Oh I think thats the filter residue. Just got my jolie and saw the color of the filter residue, I think theirs gonna be a bit of a color stain with water flow because of the product inside the filter. The stuff inside the filter is that color
I got the Aqua bliss SF500 shower filter, I feel clean!
Nice!! I’ve seen that is also popular
Clean this with baking soda n vinegar water, this will refresh and renew your product. Do this once every 6 months
Yes thank u!
No lmao. It works but takes forever. If you want , you can use a cleaning paste with some type of cleaner brush or sponge
Thanks for the in depth review! I was on the fence with spending $150 but I'm going to take the plunge. Look up African black soap it's VERY good for skin
Tysm for watching and the rec! I used one way back but I want to give it a try again :)) The price itself is def an investment and I wish we just had good water to start with lol 😭
Black soap dries my skin😑
@@Currency_1990u should try turmeric soap! Maybe u have dry skin too idk 🤷🏽♀️
just got their updated showerhead in my latest vlog! watch to see the installation process - czcams.com/video/rks3uDUaObY/video.html 👀

I love my puffy hair i prefer it over limp.
They tested the filters with multiple people, showering daily. It lasts 3 months based on that so it would have to last longer if you don't shower daily or multiple people aren't using it, whatever combination of that there is.
Since you mentioned you have been using this for a 7 months. Did you see any improvement in your skin and hair ?
I kinda speak about this throughout but details specially from 7:10 on
@@MatchaMaddie I think I would've just been easier to say yes
@svetikchum6988 or you know, just watch the full video so you don't ask already answered questions.
where did you get the water from?
the shower water? It’s just the normal water supply and then I use the showerhead to filter
@@MatchaMaddie I was making a joke trying to be sarcastic my bad 💀
@@DEATHWISHVQ BAHAHAH i just never know w the type of comments i get lolll but ty i got it now
@@MatchaMaddie haha word 😂 Do you use natural shampoos too? Your hair looks good honestly but consider using natural shampoos if you don’t do so already. I’ve switched to a lot of natural things now ever since my friend put me onto even different toothpaste etc stuff like that.
@@DEATHWISHVQ bahaha yes! I'm all about that - and thank you omg :))
Joile doesnt actually filter 100%. The rusting isnt supposed to be on the shower head AT ALL. Only in the filter head
yes 100% is pretty hard I believe. Is there something that does that currently? Would be interested to check it out
Sprite shower heads
Thanks for pointing out the rust wow don’t think that’s good lol
haha yea just trying to show it all! But Jolie actually saw this and was happy to send a new one 🙌🙌
I am from Las Vegas, NV. After 5 months, I finally decided to buy the ph strips to see if there was any difference because I was not seeing any difference in my hair or my skin. Either our Vegas water is awesome or Jolie is a scam. I tested bottled water, faucet water, distilled water, filtered water, and of course water from the Jolie filtered showerhead. The only one that showed something different was the distilled water. I stopped the subscription, and if I could have given this back and got refunded, I would have. My advice, check the guarantee or money back, and if you have 30 days, make sure you test the water and compare.
Well u can send it to me. Thx for the review❤
You bring up a great point of a way to test these filters which I need to look into! I haven't done it but I'd also look into chlorine drop tests and water tests as a whole, but hey if you feel like it didn't work, then I'm glad at least you tried it.
Who said they’re even changing the pH in the first place? That’s not even their claim 🤨
That’s like testing it for any other random thing and going nup they don’t work.
Eh, fuck it. [ Buys ]
All that and she didn't even turn it on.

The rust spots is a total turnoff!!! Next...
I ended putting the showerhead in vinegar and brushing off any remaining - helps a lot
