The Premier League leaders went to the north east on the back of seven league wins on the bounce.
And despite the scoreline, it wasn't vintage City, but the champions still had too much for the struggling hosts.
Ruben Dias' early goal put the Blues on the way to an eighth successive Premier League win and a sublime Joao Cancelo strike doubled the lead before the break.
In the second-half, City went three ahead with a Riyad Mahrez volley and Raheem Sterling bagged a fourth before the end to cap a wonderful week for the league leaders who added 11 goals to their goal difference inside five days.

It looked like Sterling was upset after he scored, as if for some reason he didn't want to, but he was forced by Jesus.
A tap-in goal, already 3-0 and really gabriel jesus made the hard work. Not really change anything so he's not celebrate or something.

Ojala se mantenga a este nivel toda la temporada, sería una gran ayuda y daría seguridad al equipo por el lateral izquierdo (aunque hoy jugó por el lateral derecho por la expulsión de Walker en el partido pasado) ya que un problema que siempre ha mostrado el City (o bueno almenos en años pasados) era que defensivamente tenían bastante carencias, y sobre todo el lateral izquierdo era un problema bastante importante, bueno también el lateral derecho, porque Walker antes cometía unos errores que madre mía......
Y Laporte también con Stones no daban mucha seguridad en la central...
pero actualmente con la incorporación de Rubén Días, Walker que cada día da más confianza en el lateral y ahora Cancelo por el otro, el equipo ya tiene ese equilibrio que antes no tenía...
Es un equipo más sólido en todas las facetas del juego y en las posiciones en el campo.

I wonder why anyone would think the erderson incident is a penalty when the ball is is away with Cancelo
I'm not a city fan nor a newcastle fan, but after your logic if a player slide tackles an opponent without having the ball it shouldn't be a fault now, would it? It was a careless slide made by Ederson and imo it should've been a penalty for Newcastle.
Not that it would have changed the outcome in the slightest, but that was a stone cold nailed on penalty. If it had happened at the other end, you’d be screaming. But well played City, looked far too good for us 😀
I don’t agree, the ball never touched Ederson or Fraser. Ederson came out to collect it but Cancelo took the ball away from both Ederson and Fraser.
Let’s say Cancelo isn’t there at all, the ball goes in the box and Ederson slides out to get it. If Ederson gets that ball first and it’s totally in his grasp, and because he’s sliding out to get it and then takes out Fraser then that would never be a penalty.
Let’s say Fraser touches that ball first, then Ederson comes out and takes either Fraser or the ball or both, then it’s a clear as day stonewall penalty.
Because we have seen less contact given... Newcastle have lost 2 penalties in 3 games. Just like the liverpool game. If its for the so called big teams it would have been given at least 1 of the 2. We could have gotten a result against liverpool maybe a draw. Money at work here. Hope it will be in our favor when we start splashing and stars come.
