It is a fun rifle to use. I'm LOVING shooting this rascal. Thanks for watching...
Wow, your enthusiasm is contagious, makes me want to run out n shoot some. Alas its dark out there, maybe tomorrow! Good shootin’ good fun as always! Bless you
Its been too cold here all week to get out. I can't wait till it warms up! I'm more than ready to get back out there!
You continue to shoot well with that Lyman GPR, Mark. 👍🏼
Good for you, brother!
Enjoyed the Big Foot footage, thanks. 😎
Yes...he's a big one to shoot. I've enjoyed this rifle so far. Wish I'd picked it up sooner! Thanks for watching....
Congratulations on your new gun. I can tell you are having fun with it. Hope to join ya soon for a shoot. I have my Hawken up and ready to go. Be safe and enjoy!!!
It is going to be one of my favorites...VERY soon! Thanks for watching...
You are already 2 steps ahead of me because I was gonna suggest a set of wheels mounted on Bigfoot somehow. I look in the next shot and it looks like Bigfoot got a new Hoverboard for Christmas 😆 That is an amazing rifle and great shooting and definitely entertaining too. Thanks as always for sharing these and see ya in the next one.
Yeah...o' BigFoot weighs about 65 pounds. I had to add removable wheels to him! Thanks for watching my friend....
Oh boy Mark your having to much fun I see. Glad your enjoying the LGPR looks like you can hit things easier now.
Yes...I'm surprised myself. Guess the shorter barrel does wonders...LOL See you soon....
You are shooting well with that rifle. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching.,,I can't wait to get it out again soon...
Great stuff man! You are awesome buddy.
Thanks for watching....you know its a crazy obsession of mine...! LOL
Looks like your first shot got him where it really hurts. Great video
Yes...I was surprised too when I watched the footage later. I was amazed..or lucky..LOL
That's one sweet rifle but one tough Bigfoot! Some nice grouping by the way!
For me...it is nice shooting! I really like this rifle.
Very nice shooting!!!!
For me...it is. I can actually hit something with this one...I LOVE it!
@@blackpowdermaniacshooter
You seem to be hitting everything since you unboxed this rifle. Congrats!!!!
@@notsosilentmajority1 I LOVE it so far!!!
I got one for Christmas to mine is percussion with a fast twist barrel for conical bullets
Good rifles! I wanted a 1 X 66 twist since I only shoot round balls...Thanks for watching...
I injoy your show alot , thank you for all you do to intertain us and teach us the fun in shooting muzzleloaders , by the way have you heard anything of black powder t.v
Thank you......haven't talked to Bobby at BPTV lately. We were scheduled to go back last month for another visit and he had small medical procedure. We will be going back in June sometime. .
You seem to have way to much fun with that rifle.
YES...its starting to become a favorite.
Mark I got to thinking. I dug out old 50 cal ram rod. Put bore protection on it. Great every since

@@roberttolley5055 Hey...works for me! Just along as you're pulling the trigger, I LOVE it.
That is a beautiful rifle! And some good shooting! Between work the weather and raising younguns I flat haven't had time to shoot any but that will change soon though😁
Emily always come first....then comes the fun...I know you will be getting into it soon. Its warming up!
@@blackpowdermaniacshooter oh yeah! It's been really perty down here recently spring is right around the corner.
@@yoderboys1 I'm sure you can't wait to get back out there again!
@@blackpowdermaniacshooter oh yeah it's going to be a whooraa! I want to start casting my own ammo soon but I'm good for awhile after you sent all them
.480 round balls haha
@@yoderboys1 Keep on losing that lead! I just poured 600-700 more a few days ago. If you need more, let me know, I'll send 'em...
Good stuff, Maniac! That flint you are using looks larger than my 5/8x3/4. What size are you running? I believe you are getting more shots per flint than I am. I enjoy the videos, keep at it!
That one is a 7/8" English flint. I tried a 5/8" but it was too short. Thanks for watching.,,
Love your videos sir. Do you have any ideas on were to get some 3f powder during these trubiling times
Try calling Tambi Dudley at 866-809-9704 on Monday. She is the representative for Swiss/Schuetzen powder in the USA. She will help you find some. Tell her the BPMS sent you...Thanks for watching...
I recently scored some Goex 2f from Powder Valley. I think they had some 3f as well. Also check Maine Powder House.
OUCH! An appendix shot.
Yeah..I got lucky with that one.....Thanks for watching...
Bigfoot seems like a tough olde dude. You should call him "Ironman". Jus' sayin'. Another couple of weeks and I can get the smoke poles out here in Alberta. Lots of snow in the shade at the Skookumchuck Black Powder Range.
Brrr...that sounds cold ! Hope you can get out sooner, maybe you'll get a warm spring!
@@blackpowdermaniacshooter It's been a very warm winter. The snow is gone from the yard but the little range I've set up is shaded by trees and takes a while to clear. Soon, very very soon.
@@brentscott5359 I bet you cannot wait! I sure couldn't down here in Kentucky.
Love your vids.
Is that a .50 or .54 cal?
This one is a 50 caliber. Thanks for watching my friend....
You pushed bigfoot over with one arm! You don't need no stinkin" rifle.
LOL...that's funny, thanks for watching.
I own the "hunter" model of the GPR, (cap lock) and a trade rifle by Lyman, (flint lock) as well, both in 50 caliber.
Good guns..I'm convinced now. Thanks for watching...
I also own three "Traditions" guns in 50. I like to make smoke.
@@thomassmestead6424 Me too.. I have Traditions Woodsman Hawken in 50 caliber..its the most accurate rifle I own. .
@@blackpowdermaniacshooter Pennysylvania and Springfield Hawken, Trapper pistol.
Have the gpr in 50 cal. Percussion cap at fifty yards a group of 5 about 1.5 inches
That's some mighty fine shooting my friend!
Best target,at the tidewater shoot
@@chucklucas8747 Sweet!
I'm wondering if you use a fan when you melted that lead lol
I always use a fan when pouring round balls. Less chance of breathing fumes.
I had told you 5/8 Flint I had mine out today it's 3/4
I couldn't use a 5/8....I did put a 3/4" one on it ...it works great!
I do not know why I said 5/8 I have never had a gun that took 5/8 flint getting old I think 🤔
@@russellbrill3721 Yeah..I feel your pain on that getting old stuff. I bought a dozen 5/8" flints when I was at the Log Cabin Shop a few weeks ago. Wish I'd thought about this new gun & picked up a few larger ones for it too...LOL
What do you think of the lock in the Lyman flinter? I'm thinking of getting one for my first flintlock.
So far..I have no complaints. One reason I wanted this model was...when the lock dies after the warranty is over, the L&R lock company sells replacement locks. That's where I'll turn to next. Thanks for watching.,,
@@blackpowdermaniacshooter Thanks!
@@jamescooper2618 Keep on shooting my friend...
Nice shooting Maniac! It looks like it loads easy. I used to wear my primer around my neck until I heard a story of sparks igniting it like a bomb. Be careful!
I don't worry about that. I've shot flint guns well over 7 years at least 10,000 times with no problems. They only hold maybe 50 grains of Swiss Null B. Its very convenient to use. Thanks for watching.,,
Lots of stories out there. Most with zero facts to back them up.
@@Nick-wn1xw I agree. I've never had any problem using those primers other than running out of powder on a long day of multiple shooting. Most shooters keep them in their pouch or pockets. I prefer convenience when shooting, especially from the pouch. There is very little chance of sparks ignited the small amount of powder stored in that metal container. All BP shooting is a risk. This part of shooting doesn't bother me at all.
Have you ever shot playing cards on their edge. Or shot the flame off a candlle stick or blew it out.
Haven't tried the candles yet, however, the cards has been tried before: czcams.com/video/099JLdJu_3s/video.html

Cleaning kit?
Look out Bigfoot !
Duck !
Wipe that slobber off that gun before it rusts 😃👍
LOL...Oh yeah.....its finally warming! I can't wait to get back out again.
Looks like you need the 62 caliber to teach him a lesson.
Ohhh, he has been spanked with the smoothbore too...LOL czcams.com/video/HjLUtICQyLQ/video.html
Big foot ...why shoot.,?
I LOVE shooting that rascal! Lots of fun watching him fall....Thanks for watching. .
Lol no place for Big foot to hid from the GPR.
He has a hard time living near me....LOL. Thanks for watching ....
Huuuuuyyyyyyyyyyyyiiii ponga un aviso a cuánto motros está el polígono solo felicidades y no de números
Amén hermano... gracias por mirar...
I love my round ball rifles, but let this be a demonstration to those out there that say that round balls are the ultimate projectile (lol); in .50 and .54, you can lob a 550gr bullet at it, and I guarantee the target would fall, and no living thing will stop it lol. Accept that the round ball is severely limited technology in a rifle, and have a blast with it!. That Lyman looks to be a shooter! Like the wheels on the target, think I might add some to my larger ones too.
Oh yes, I know one that large would "drop" him ASAP! Thanks for watching...
@@Nick-wn1xw Yes, I agree again...if that is what they want, cartridge rifles is the way to go. They can shoot all the pointed projectiles they wish from one of those. I prefer to use the round balls in the guns I use...only because they did 225+ years ago.
@@Nick-wn1xw biggest thing having metalic cartridges does for us is it takes a lot of human error out of the shot (premade ammo on a press vs winging it in the field). Other than that, rate of fire's about the only other advantage I've found.
