Okay, I can't be the only one in love with Alice Walker :)
MEE!!!
Indeed. You are not. Who wouldn’t love this woman. 💕
She has deep ancestor wisdom. Hence why you can see it resonating so deeply within her
Oh shut up. Talk sense. Words that have meaning. In fact better yet read about her story and you’ll get a better idea about how she became Alice Walker.
I can’t believe Charlie Rose was considered such a wonderful interviewer. He’s uniformed of his guests and incredibly defensive.
A great [poet, who cares deeply about reading and education.
Where ever children suffer Charlie, we should be there. - A.W
Alice Walker - A Force to be Reckoned With (Now that is a way to be remembered) ❤
"The pain that we inflict on children is the pain we later experience as a society...100 million women and children have been genitally mutilated today...
"People the world over respond to film... I wanted to make a film that was portable...I co-produced it with Channel 4 in England... She [the cutter] believes that she is making these children cleaner, more healthy... They [those who had been cut] had been completely programmed to deny that it had hurt... [I want them to] accept the facts without panicking...I really don't want [anyone to feel] insulted or disrespected...
".... to join with African women...to have someone to stand with them and be supportive... I come to my sisters as a sister...
"There is so much joy in doing things collectively...
"... so many countries where people are on the ground..."
Sue Lyons Billions of men have been mutilated world wide.
if he would stop talking over her that would be great lmfao
No seriously 😂
😅 I was saying STFU lol
LOL I like watching Rose's interviews but some of his questions are so weird..."Where do you get compassion?"
He's of a different frequency, cut of another cloth... that's Y.
HE IS TALKING OVER HER. HOW RUDE.
This man was so insecure, it got in the way of the interview. I can’t believe he didn’t watch the film or even know her age. Besides that, I just love hearing Alice’s words.
who tf is this interviewer
the interviewer is so obnoxious
The subject of freedom is over stretched as if thats the only thing the world rolls on, there is Culture and peoples culture should be respected, this is the beauty of diversity, this western judea-christian thought or any religious claim of singularity is radiculous, in the process of claiming to give people freedom they have destroyed the freedom to choose and diversity has been destroyed in the same process. we should all have something to marvel at thats different from us and what we are doing.this means in every aspect however ugly this may look as long as it is accepted as part of a given society.
I NEED TO MEET YOU!!!!! Inspirational
I could not read this book! nor could I read possessing the secrets of joy! I think it is just horrible! it is horrible to do this to a woman! however , I think Alice Walker is a excellent writer! I have read many of her books.
cathy thomas It's horrible to mutilate the genitals of any human being.
This my 4th cousin ‼️🤞🏾🤞🏾
Interviewer is annoying...
My goodness Charlie became progressively annoying during this interview
he got angry and defensive after she "rejected" the question involving the controvesy on the Color Purple film
When people are seen through, like Alice's presence does, they don't know how to act so their usual go to is self defense which can be annoying- but being able to notice that and still be gentle is self mastery and she demonstrates it so well! 😍💜
Help the children in Detroit
“Hatred has to stop. You have to learn to live side by side, and appreciate the differences rather than hate them,”
- Holocaust survivor Ben Lesser Food for thought Alice, honey. This isn't 1935 and we're not in Germany.
TF do you mean by this?
The interviewer is really irritating. Keeps talking over and not letting her finish her thoughts. It would have been a much better interview had it not been interrupted. We would have gotten much more insights.
This is a subject that I cannot get interested in. It's more for women, I think.
that is one cold hearted comment
yes, if you have never been interested in women or cooch or dropped like a fruit off a mango tree as opposed to being conceived and birthed from a womb - we dont blame you.
