    I purchased the Auxilia from APC's and I couldn't be happier. It's my first gaming PC and what really sold me on APC's was your discount code/recommendation, the fact that they have a lifetime warranty, and they are BBB accredited. Not to mention, a handwritten note thanking me for my purchase. It doesn't get much better than that.

    Hi Braethorn. I like that you tell it like the way it is. I invited my new neighbor over to my house. After seeing my PC gamer setup, he told me he was ready to get into gaming. He asked me to help him get started. He was still determining whether to buy a pre-built PC or build one. I pointed out the main difference between the two. If he decided on a pre-build, it would come with a warranty covering everything, including parts and labor, but it would likely cost more than building one himself. If he decided to build his own, the main drawback would be obtaining a warranty for each component. If a part fails, he would also have to deal directly with the company that sold him the part. I pointed out this could be a hassle and time-consuming procedure. I suggested he go the pre-built route because he was new to PCs and gamine. I assisted him concerning which PC to buy and why I chose the company he should buy his pre-built from. He followed my advice and is now a happy PC owner and game player.

    I will post this on every APC video I see you do; but I've had mine for around a year now and never had a single issue. Nothing running hot. No weird fan noises. No crashes. No bloatware. Nothing.
    This thing runs as smooth as you'd expect a new gaming console to run. I put a 4080 16GB in it at the time because I couldn't get a 4090 in it. I've been able to play any and everything I want on max settings with framerates in the 100+ range.
    You're going to spend some cash there. But TJ and APCs will take care of you.

      Hi Kevin. So, you discovered a 4090 would not fit into your case, which often occurs. I like the DIY rule, which states to measure twice and cut once. In your case, measure the case twice and install your GPU once.

    • @kevinmartin2076
      @kevinmartin2076 Před 5 měsíci

      @@outlet6989 No. A 4090 would fit inside of the Lancool III. 4090s were not readily available at the time I had an SI build my PC though so I got the next best GPU.

    Took the plunge after weeks of research looking for a replacement to my 6 year old Digital Storm pre-built (which has and still serves me incredibly well but can’t do 1440p on ultra anymore). Your content put APC on my radar and I’m feeling very comfortable with the Assassin I just ordered. Went with the 4080 version and I’m excited to see how they do. Thank you for the very educational and quality coverage!

    I could be wrong but it doesn’t look like the auxilia doesn’t have a pcpartpicker list

    • @braethorn
      @braethorn  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Some don't, and unfortunately, due to some misinterpretation from potential buyers who were hypercritical, APC might be removing them. It shouldnt change much. Those who benefit most from the PCPP lists are the type of buyer that can easily make one themselves since APC lists the specific components they use in every build (aside from which brand of PSU they use, it'll be brand name though).

      I'm about to order one tomorrow and figured it may come open since they install it and test it before shipping. At least that's what I'm thinking lol 😅
      Which one did you get if you don't mind me asking?

    • @braethorn
      @braethorn  Před 5 měsíci +1

      That's totally normal. They would have tested that exact GPU with the system, so it wouldn't be sealed.

      Before you call customer support, I have three suggestions for you. Before you call, have a stiff drink, sit in your gamer chair, and fasten the seat belt.

  • @dennissmith1435
    @dennissmith1435 Před 5 měsíci

    So, looking at the Legatus and checking out the pcpartpicker list, the delta is $1400. The parts total around $4400 and the PC is $5800. Unless they are not including all the parts in the list, that seems like a huge markup. Is having the PC built and the warranty (read the fine print) worth $1400? I know they include shipping, but that still seems like a huge delta.

    • @braethorn
      @braethorn  Před 5 měsíci +2

      The issue is that the PCPP lists provided by APC have the prices locked, which doesn't reflect market price fluctuations. It just takes a minute to make a fresh list to get accurate information.
      Comparing the black Legatus, a more current list ends up at $4852.19. With the price of the black Legatus being $5,598.00, the actual markup is $745.81. That has to cover the additional 7" screen mod, cable extensions in the customer's choice of color, shipping and insurance, and of course, the lifetime warranty (every warranty has fine print btw). A more expensive system is potentially more expensive to repair under warranty. All of this...and they still have to make money to pay their employees, bills, and other overhead.
      Instead of speculating on perceived value, which is inherently difficult to quantify, head to the Discord and read a few of the testimonials in the AlexanderPC channel under SI Testimonials. Let me know what you think.

    Just a heads up everyone, iBuyPower's customer service policies are pretty terrible. I just received a DOA GPU and they made me pay for a second one before they shipped the replacement, then promise they're going to refund me they receive the DOA GPU back to them. I hate that I have to pay an extra $600+ (on top of $2,000 for the original PC) and go to run errands to a UPS store to actually get a working part (hopefully- can't imagine paying for a 3rd GPU if this one is DOA). And they can't even promise the 2 day shipping for the replacement card that they have on their built PC's... so now I'm waiting for 7-10 business days for replacement that I had to pay for and then wait another 7-10 for them to receive the broke one to get my deposit back. Tell me how that makes any sense at all...

    Horrible experience dealing with Alexander PC... maybe if you buy an off the shelf unit you'll get what you order, but don't expect any special/simple requests (like adding one single extra fan to the case) to be fulfilled. Expect to get the machine they want you to get, not what you ordered. Expect zero resolution from them, it will take several attempts to get any kind of refund for their error. Then when you take it to a local shop to have it corrected to the original specs as ordered, your warrantee will be voided. good luck.

    they shoulda did it with a AMD br0, AMD hhhhyzen is wayyyy bettair zan intel.

    • @braethorn
      @braethorn  Před 5 měsíci

      For some people, AMD is better, while Intel is right for others. I covered that in the video.
      You can actually request that they switch the mobo and CPU to AMD after purchasing. Just reply to the order confirmation email and ask them to make it an AMD build. By default, they'll use a 7800X3D (lower price CPU, more expensive motherboard, so it balances out) unless you request otherwise and are willing to pay the difference if it's a more expensive AMD CPU.
