GTA 3 still holds up as one of the most influential games from the PS2 with it's missions and sandbox style. During the time it had controversy surrounded it, and when it was given an M rating that meant just about every kid wanted it. Now when I played it a year later, I wasn't quite sure what all the fuss was about. In order to beat this game I'm going to have to be the most feared crime boss in town. I have to expand my territory, flex my power, and ace everything to become the biggest and baddest in town.

What is the craziest thing that happened to you in an open-world game?
I remember my cousin and I used to play Minecraft lan server. Our favorite thing to do was blow up houses we made for each other or our smaller cousins and see their reactions. It was hilarious and dumb. The whole point of it was to trick whoever we made the house for, once they step on a tile it would turn on a switch that would blow up the house haha. We decided to stop using TNT's and actually create a community where we could live with one another. It was located deep inside a mining area. We built a community, houses, farms, and much more. It took us around 2 months or so. It was all going well until I had the bright idea to create a train system that would pass by all the places in the community we made. As I finally completed, I told my cousin to test it out, once he went inside and started the switch, the train was moving. All was going well until suddenly I remembered that I put a tile that would activate the TNTs I somehow placed. I had no idea why I put those in the first place. It was probably out of habit, reflex, or boredom. My cousin and I were on different rooms and The moment the train hit the switch, I remember him shouting so loud I could hear him from the other room. Everything we created for months was all gone. I remember seeing the houses, farms, and all the things we built slowly blow up. I went out of my room to check on my cousin and all I could see was a dead pan face with his mouth opened looking at the screen while he saw the destruction of our community. Ever since then we never played Minecraft together again. 😂
Moral of the story, don't be a dumbass like me and think before you do shit. 😂

I was playing rdr2 and as i was riding my horse a bird flew down and slaped me in the face
just recently, Just Cause 3, I was backing up with an attacking helcopter shooting at me in a settlement I was trying to take over, and suddenly something explodes behind me that WASNT a rocket and I was sent about 700 feet into the air in my humvee, and landed perfectly fine in the water lol
like I felt like John candy in spaceballs, with that scene where Spaceball one goes straight to pladd, like what the HELL WAS THAT lol

I love the atmosphere of this game. nostalgic, yet weird. classic, but dark.

GTA III is probably the videogame that has impacted me the most in my life. I was 11, soon 12 years old when it came on PC and my cousin had it. Boy did it blow my mind. Being able to run around in an open world doing whatever you want!? I never wanted to leave my cousins house..
I was only 6 when GTA 3 came out, however i remember playing it when i was about 8 and then i blagged my grandmother to buy me Vice city from blockbuster and she did!!!!
I remember when my best friend had vice city on pc, i was probably 8 years and also completely blown away

It's amazing how much time changes things. When I first played GTAIII as a kid, it seemed insanely big. It felt like I could do anything. But when I went back and played it last year, it felt so small, simple and restrictive. Still a classic and fun though

Perhaps you could do a review on it. I liked your RE2 and Splinter Cell reviews and perhaps you could do a retrospective on this one.
When I replayed it after GTA4 (which I didn't like) I realized its small size is one of its biggest strengths. It gives freedom without wasting my time, it had nearly arcade pacing unless there are no cars around because they didn't spawn.

@@ddd7038 Never played it when I was younger, only did San Andreas, so haven't got the Nostalgia Goggles on. GTA3 has it's flaws, that got fixed later. Making Vice City and even way more San Andreas the better games. And it hasn't aged as well as those titles. But it still is an incredibly fun experience in my opinion.
Also, as an Android game it fucking ROCKS. Had a lot of fun with it on my GPD XD plus portable Android Console.

That being said, yes, it is a great movie. Far better than the more recent Irishman, for example.

The PS2 era GTA games are so hard to complete, especially GTA3.
I only got stuck on Sanandreas train mission and GTA IV the mission where you were on top of the empire state building with 4/5 star.. ragequitted GTA IV after that mission..
I had not play GTA3 for 10 years now. Remember finish it couple of time. Back the it was a good game to play on weak laptop. Compare computer back then and today world is a completely different.
@@campkira no kidding, I've played some old games I used to play back then on my modern PC and it's so surreal that back then I had to play on minimum settings with low framerates. Now those same games are displaying in 1080p at 60+FPS at maximum settings on my current PC.
Not really for me. Probably because I played all those games so much it becomes easy for me but I have to say gta 3 was the hardest

gta sa is still on mobile, if you have a tablet thats powerful enough then its well worth it, i still play it here and there.
Best game ever. Beaten multiple times on PS2. Ps3 and now i platinumed it on PS4. This game is just amazing

Only thing is that the games are literally spedrun for 100%. Not the most common thing, but there is already a meta and routing.
I love this game! 😍 I remember being 7-8, I completed the first two missions then just messed around with the map then one day my dad and I decided to finish the story from start to finish. Did most of the work myself but handed the controller to my dad for the harder missions haha, we also challenged each other to see who reaches 6 stars first! I once did it and even hijacked a tank and paused the game and waited until dad arrived from work so he sees it. Good times (:

I'm happy to see Jirard continuing to expand the number of genre's and game franchises he's completed. I look forward to one day, seeing Jirard complete GTA: San Andreas, GTA IV and The Bully along with other Rockstar games titles. I'm also really looking forward to seeing the Red Dead Redemption: New Game +, when it comes out.
Kudos to you Jirard for checking out a Grand Theft Auto game, looking forward to seeing you review the rest of series as well, maybe even other Rockstar games like Max Payne, Bully and Red Dead Redemption. Only downside is that it'll make my reviews of them look inferior in comparison to yours, haha

The reason I went out and got a PS2 back in the day, 10 minutes on this game at a friend's house and I knew I had to own it.

baby driver's ending was unsatisfying
I like the old, cartoonish, over-the-top Rockstar games so much more than the new, hyper-realistic stuff. Also, games like GTA III still let you experiment and find your own approach to accomplishing objectives, whereas now, in e.g. RDR2, if you so much as take a step in the "wrong" direction, it's "MISSION FAILED" instantly.
Gta III is really bringing back my memories. Gta san andreas is one of my favorites

I used to live and breathe this game. I played it so much I was able to play it all the way through with zero deaths.
I somehow missed this one on it's original upload and when I realized that back in June I decided to save it for my Birthday.
I figured it would be a great thing to watch with my B-Day lunch considering it's one of my favorite CZcamsrs covering one of my favorite games.
Needless to say this did not disappoint!

Oh man as much as I love these games I lose my shit with them too. I was doing Rifle Range in VC on PS2 recently with the extremely sensitive analog controls. Lets just say explicit language and yelling became commonplace that day.

I absolutely love the stylistic approach you took with this video, the soft warm tone of the smooth jazz music and VO mixed with the cold noir colors is reminds me of The Godfather if it was in black in white and were made in 1942 along with Casablanca (which is my favorite classic movie).
I really like that each episode is getting their own “theme” to match the game!

This Game will always be one of my favorite games of all time love it so much.
Just some simple facts of life, the sky is blue, grass is green and Open World Sandbox games are a Completionist's Kryptonite second only to JRPGs, especially if they have online Multiplayer then it's like Kryptonite powering a giant mechanical death fortress shaped like Genghis Khan's head!
This reminds me of how I wanna witness Jirard attempt to 100% any Yakuza game.
Now THAT would be a spectacle.
The Purple Nine glitch is the only phone side mission that prevents me from completing 100%.
Great video, as always. I haven't played this game since 2002, but this sure makes me want to give it a play again and see how enjoyable it is today. I'm guessing it's still a lot of fun.

Holy shit this is the best present I've gotten, it's my birthday today and seeing you finally complete a GTA game means a lot to me since it's one of my favorite series of all time, it's no San Andreas but it's still a great video
Here's a recipe for cookies: Preparation time: 40min
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup unsalted butter melted 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1 egg 1 egg yolk 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Procedure: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper. Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon. Drop cookie dough 1/4 cup at a time onto the prepared cookie sheets. Cookies should be about 3 inches apart. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire rack.

Growing up in the late eighties and early nineties I had a love for video games, but after high school for what ever reason I just fell out of gaming. I guess college and life just got in the way. Then one day a buddy of mine invited me over after work to drink a few beers and play some video games. I was like OK, Ill go drink a few and hangout. Then he was like "Bro! you have to check out this new game, its crazy!" He started it up and immediately I was blown away. We ended up playing for about 4 hours that evening and the very next day I ran out and bought a PS2 and GTA III. I was back baby and I've never left.

Those Damn Paramedic Missions!! Much props for pointing them out. Grand theft Auto turned me into a perfectionist. When San Andreas was about to come out. I was so excited.i decided, let's go back and finish Vice City and GTA 3 100%. Vice City doesn't even compare to how hard GTA 3 was to complete. Just because of the damn side missions and no larger map for reference when you pause.

Dang the intro is cool. And now i'm seriously thinking of finally revisiting this classic. I spent so much time with this game. Re-creating movie scenes from crime movies and so on (similar in GTAIV and such, but this was such an experience back in the day).
i loved this game, it felt ultra realistic for me at the time, i was a kid, and i still remember how i felt and how much i loved the first mission when you driver that guy in the car from the bridge on that foggy morning.

I loved this game when I first got my PS2. I tried playing it again a few years ago, and I did not enjoy it at all. I mean it wasn't bad but the poor controls really killed any enjoyment I got from the game hindering any little fun to be had in it.

With the release of later GTA titles, Saints Row II, III, IV, Driver III, Parallel Lines and even the True Crime series...the bar was set much higher ; however, I do still enjoy playing the simple GTA III because of the small and compact city.
