I think when it first came out it was just crap. It improved a lot over time with bug fixes and design changes however the amount of useless apps and the "need" for a microsoft account was just bad.
The fact windows 10 and Windows 8 had ads FOR A LITERALLY PAID OPERATING SYSTEM is so dumb.
But I noticed that over time it stopped downloading random apps.
The Windows Sandbox is also very nice but probably unnecessary for Virtualbox or VMware users.
Windows 10 sadly keeps turning on the virtualization based security making it unable to use VMware or Virtualbox.
You can only disable it BY DOWNLOADING ANOTHER PROGRAM.
Edge has also improved a lot over time it just still isn't as good as chrome and firefox.
Cortana is honestly useless, I prefer the normal search. Cortana is just the search but with random jokes and games.
      The customization is pretty nice.
In the end Windows 10 got better and better but if you think about all the ads and the advertisement Id feature which spies on you you gotta say windows 10 isn't perfect.
Let's just hope it gets better.

2:30 sorry to say you'd be sadly mistaken. I originally thought the same thing, but as it turns out, Windows 8.1 was treated by Microsoft as a completely new operating system, and here are some reasons why. Windows 8 uses Windows NT 6.2, whereas Windows 8.1 uses Windows NT 6.3. Windows 8 allows you to keep your apps and files from an upgrade to Windows 7 whereas Windows 8.1 only allows you to keep your files. Windows 8 has the Windows Experience Index, Windows 8.1 does not. Windows 8's drive root is called Computer, whereas it's referred to as This PC in Windows 8.1. Lastly, Windows 8 ended support in January 2016, whereas Windows 8.1 continues to recieve updates until January 2023.

btw - at the end of 2019 I upgraded 2 of my dual core [E8500] computers to windows 10. They both had SSD disks and were runing pretty smoth on Win7. They weren't as slow as you'd expect from a 10 year old hardware. At the beginning they were both running ok, but then within 2 days they both died and I got a "kernel error" message - something like that and then there was no picture. I never even bothered to disconnect the disk and check the bios or whatever. I then dissassebled them both. One went into the trash [except the CPU and RAM] because it was made up by really old parts, just old motherboard and the box was like 15 years old [was really cool looking with green fans btw] the other I've reassembled just days ago with a "new" - different motherboard and it works fine. Even the win 10 booted from the original SSD disk and the only thing that's not working are the GPU drivers. Pretty amazing. It might've been an odd coincidence but I've become a bit conspiratorial about win 10. I think I'm going to intall win7 on that machine. I did buy a new machine at the end of last year and it is my second computer that I use with win 10. It runs really good but I'm just so used to win 7 idk. I have it on 2 of my machines and I don't even plan to upgrade any time soon. One machine is for audio production and it's kind of a close system. It's been running since 2013 - no errors no glitches and it's been off the internet since something like 2014 :D

Windows 10 is my personal favorite. Why? It can work extremely well on a tablet/2-in-1. Desktop applications run natively. Being able to use windows, drag them around, resize them, and snap them all by dragging on the new Tablet Mode 2.0 (the interface released last year sometime that optimizes the regular interface for touch; it's now the default Tablet Mode in 20H2) interface is absolutely phenomenal. Using the familiar Windows 10 *on a tablet*, windows and all? Nobody can beat that!

There was a performance utility plateau for mainstream users in the 2000s with dual core processors and high clock single cores and this combined with the recession and XPs stability and established compatibility relative to vista essentially made vista doa. It took Seven almost four years to get ahead of XP.

I can totally see where you are coming. I just believe that windows 10 has potential, but needs a lot of work. I find lots of inconsistencies and it will take a lot to get the "charm and magic" from windows 7 back. It really shouldn't be updating without the users' consent and it shouldn't be preloaded with a bunch of useless apps that pretty much no one needs.

    • @TrigrZolt
      @TrigrZolt  Před 4 lety +5

I feel like it deserves B tier, just because it can become more stable and less glitchy in the future, and can improve with time, just because it works as a service now. As it is right now, it's just very annoying to use (at least for me). Also, as it keeps updating, some of my programs straight up break for some reason which is kind of weird. Debloating it will work fine, but it will become rebooted after and update, which defeats the purpose. Overall, it is still a good OS, but has a couple of flaws that can be fixed.

Windows 10 takes some getting used to but with a little time its nearly as good as Windows 7. I am using the 200H version, and its had a few bugs but seems more stable right now after a few updates. D - 8, Vista
    F - Me
7, XP, & 98 - obvious S tier. 7 & XP are self-explanatory for most folks, but that upgrade from Win95 to 98 was GREAT. So much more stability. Honestly 95 is almost a C-tier for me. Only ever used it on a couple computers, but the aforementioned stability issues were real across the board. Its saving grace is that it brought about the Start menu. 10 & 2000 remind me of each other, some annoyances here & there, but solid operating systems overall. 8 & Vista both gave me the same amount of headaches to use (enough to warrant the jump down to D tier for both of them), & just thinking of using Me still makes me a bit angry, lol.

Windows XP is nostalgic, but I think Windows 7 is the best. It just refined everything before it and kept things simple

@@saricubra2867 I have also Installed in Core i3-3rd gen but after Win10, it works too much slow and I am feeling to much delay in every action. While Windows 7 has less features and end of support not only from microsoft but also many antiviruses, VPNS etc are not working but it has minimal simple looks, working smoothly.

Window Me... Ugh it pretty much shares most of the UI elements from Windows 2000 but with a 9x kernel, and was a fill-in of "Windows 2000 Home Edition" hole and considered as "Win2k Lite" but an unsuccessful attempt since it has nowhere close to the stability of an NT kernel system. However if you use VMWare Workstation Player it runs pretty much fine, without 3D acceleration though, i.e. you can't play accelerated 3D games on the guest system (I tried to run NFSU2 on Windows Me guest and it refused to launch), despite you can update Me with DX9.0c support.
