- Homeowners John and Nicole bought a house that they thought was already fixed up and would not need anymore work. Soon after they moved in they noticed the tub shower was leaking through the ceiling! They called me to come out and see what was going on, and I found there was no waterproofing in the shower and there was mold on the backer board. This is a really good video, Isaac! Pretty much HGTV level without all the drama or acting. Really enjoyed this video! You really have come a long way as a youtuber and someone I respect. Keep it up and thanks for inspiring us
Thank you! A lot of work went into the production/editing to get the right feel. This was such a fun project I am going to start doing more like it.
@@TileCoach you should for sure do more like this. Please stay away from the money temptation of HGTV or any of that nonsense. They will make millions and as well as you but THEY will time crunch your process and force you to take shortcuts. And destroy your self made image of quality.
@Tilecoach DIY TV series.
Hey bro, I just have to say I’ve been watching your videos for the last six months and I just started remodeling my shower and bathroom. I have to say as an HVAC contractor I have the confidence to tile my whole bathroom and shower. Thank you for all the help you’re a great coach. Appreciate you.
This is an awesome video/project concept. You're giving the homeowner an opportunity to not only design but also participate in the creation of their own space in the most deep and meaningful way possible through the expert craftsmanship of your crew and you. You've created so much more than a shower and bathroom.
@Anakin Skywalker nah you're high if you think contractors are regularly doing jobs the customer pre-assembled in their bedroom.
Whoa, Coach just leveled up!
I loved this format. Taking the customer end to end, then delivering an amazing design, awesome.
Please don't forget to keep the nerdy construction details when HGTV picks you up!
This is a really cool video format! Your channel just keeps getting better.
I was shocked at first when I heard the cost of 20k. I do work in the exact same field as a tile contractor also, also in North Cal. 20k is about 40% higher than most of my bids. Then I saw what was done. In case folks don’t pick up on it, he’s the acting GC, plumber, handyman and tile guy as well as a Designer for this project. I never go pick out tiles with client. I also do not get involved with many of the adjustments like plumbing, demo, trash haul, etc. honestly 20k is phenomenal value. Most all inclusive bath remodel companies will not get anything close to this kind of beautiful work and they usually start at 25k for a bath remodel. And that’s for a generic cookie cutter shower build. Tile Coach is doing an ultra premium custom design for 5k less than that.
When I grow up I wanna be like tile coach hahah.
That has to be your greatest video so far this year Isaac! Love your content.Keep up the great work and keep carrying the pride of our profession!
Thank you!
Isaac. I love this video. It shows what goes on in the process. Most people only know of the why need help, and then your videos showing demolition and construction. I love this that it shows what the homeowner goes through and the time it takes. And... the angst over the money aspect. Do more.
I am also a tile guy and run my own buisness but hands down I’d work with you In a heart beat thanks for the knowledge and helping the trade for guys like me…
I haven't watched one of your videos in several months. Your narration and editing skills are really good in this video. Allowing the client to participate and save a modest amount of $ by doing the demo. Is both nice to see and very smart of you. It's a win win. 👏
Thank you for tubing back in! Glad you got to see it.
That video is epic hands down brother the best tile Is channel for sure. The best thing about it is you actually know what you're talking about unlike all the others. Thank you for the inspiration.
Your homeowners came up with a spectacular creation & the tile work wasn’t bad either.
Loved this video and creation. The fact that you listened to your clients, let them create without hoovering, while also giving suggestions was just beautiful. Wish you were on the East Coast I'd hire you in a second. Fantastic job!!!
Man I am too old school I still can't get behind not using a rubber pan liner and Deck Mud.
Seeing those seem joints with mortar underneath them knowing that mortar wick's water.... No way water dust behind that stuff.
BUT... Then again most people redo their showers every ten to twenty years and the shower will probably last a good six-plus years without any problems being noticeable. However when the shower is torn out there definitely will be mold and that's when you will notice the issues. 🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
Install looked very nice 🙂
As a self taught owner builder who learned from tiling websites 20 years ago, I wish your videos were around then. I would have sent my so called installer packing after a couple hours instead of tearing it out when it leaked. The next best thing to having a true pro is being able to see the magic happen and make every attempt to duplicate it. Thank you for sharing what a truly professional job looks like.
I’m completely amazed in the transparency in this video and the willingness of the customers to discuss their thoughts on the pricing.
This video is AWESOME 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
This is fake. Look at the intro. When they talk about prices they are trying not to laugh.
Fantastic video price was a bit steep maybe 5k less for me but that's great work. Great work by the owners as well 👏
You make me realize I am in over my head with my first fiberglass tub to walk-in conversion...! But you know what, I will achieve it and I will come back to rave about your helpful videos which I am presently doing LOL...Thank you
You and your team do great work. Thanks for sharing this story.
Isaac You are a great inspiration! I love the craftsmanship you bring to the game and your knowledge as well as your great and upbeat personality!
Thank you for putting yourself out there for everyone.Keep up the great work
Love seeing your progress brother. I’ve been watching your videos from the start and you’ve come a long way. Keep doing what you’re doing. Can’t wait to start seeing you on hgtv!
Most contractors do not welcome this level of customer involvement. Great video Issac ~ big thumbs up man.
I wish Isaac operated where I live. He seems like an incredibly honest no bullshit no up-sell kind of guy.
You and your guys did a fantastic job! It's clear how happy your customers are, your team really listened to make a dream bathroom!
I’m so glad the numbers are true and honest. Most homeowners think you’re trying to rip them off when you called anything over 10,000 for their bathroom
Wow what a vision she had, she nailed the design! beautiful exactly what she described !
I like how you allow them to reason things out on thier own for the most part..
Absolutely beautiful. That price tag definitely shocked them at first, but glad they're extremely happy with it
Awesome video TileCoach! and money well spent homeowners!!!! Good job all around.
Well done video
When you exceed their expectations it makes it a little easier for them to write the final check
yeah quality work and customer service skills make all the difference
Beautiful work! Always love to see the precision you apply to your projects.
Are you trying to get a TV show with this new style of video format?
So......trying to figure out if I'm super happy to have found this video, or super depressed. I've watched dozens and dozens of TileCoach's videos and they have been super helpful to me. I tore out a tub/shower and then floated the floor. My first float! So, it actually went sort of ok and I was pleased - basically. It was my first one, so obviously as it goes with anything, I'm sure the next ones I ever do would be better. Then I built a bench at the end out of cinder blocks b/c of course I wanted it to be bullet proof and over engineered, right? Then I framed and poured a concrete curb for the exact same reasons. As I am a novice, this all took me approximately forever. And a day. Now I watch this video and basically every single thing I did, Isaac did in the blink of an eye. Man...... can't determine if I am super happy to have seen this or super depressed. :|
While the work is top notch you must be in a very rich area. On the east coast we would be lucky to get 10k for that job. Nice work as always top notch
Have to say that is the 1st vertical subway tile show i've seen I actully like. The mismatched tile's look great!
I like how you gave the price then stayed quiet, always let the client speak first, great stuff 👍
Congrats on 200k subs Isacc! Been watching you for a few years. Top content
Tilecoach has a good vid on a kerdi system failure due to NO prefab corners were installed. Good detective work.
These are EXACTLY the type of clients I love to work with!!!
Really liked this format. Picking tile, colors and design (and layout) is SO HARD for most of us. (some people can just look and go "bing do this"). Thought that was great.
My tile guy (who's in his 80's) lays it out just like that. does all his cuts, etc on a dry floor and the layout and picking which tile for where (esp with stone where one tile varies tremendously with others). So yeah, old school.
I like the going into customer interaction and overcoming difficulties I would prefer to see even more of that as a fellow contractor it's helpful
As A DIY its hard to believe 20k for a bathroom is standard. Materials used here 3k-4k tops. Rest is labor. When narrator said this was the fasted underlayment placed, all I could think, his profit margin shot straight up. Well good for him and his crew on pat day.
I'm a contractor here in Oklahoma and 20k is insane for that!
$20k…. Thank you for your candor in sharing that information.
Beautiful job as always! Nice work Isaac!
wow amazing as always ! you inspire me to be a better tile setter
I really like the wave pattern on the wall. Nice job! 👍🏻
Awesome video! I love projects like this.
great vid. as a DIY'er it was cool seeing the homeowner do work.
Very good video and a beautiful shower. Well done isaac and team
Just watched your video. Bro I honestly love your energy I think you do fantastic work You're crude does fantastic word Man I don't speak for anybody but myself but I think you are very excellent at your job. Keep up the good work. From everyone here at j'z contracting services.San Antonio TX
This is a seriously great video man. Props to the homeowners vision too. Epic editing. Well done. Much appreciated. From London UK.
Great edition, great "documentary" style format. Great job, Coach.
Man, I really wish I was closer to you guys then the east coast. Been following you learning shower and tile work for over a year now. If you guys are ever in massachusetts 😅😅. I am getting ready to rip our old salmon colored tub out and install a similar shower to this. Beautiful work as always 👏
Awesome video.
Please make it a series 👍
Thanks to people like you we can all learn something new 😊 thank you 😊
Well darn it, we love you too Isaac and crew!
Good shit! Thank u! I love you tube for its knowledge! I always want to level up my game and u have definitely help me!
That one is great and the fact it's exactly the way they wanted it in there mind is awesome 👍
As always incredible work!
Tile coach. Another job done properly by a craftsman. Waterproof. 👍💪🌧
amazing work and the homeowners participating in the design was nice
Very nice work guys and informative for everyone to eventually do some tiling on their own 👍
Love how this video was almost like a addict rehabilitation testimony 🤣 lmao our bathroom was broken so many cracks and leaks and this guy saved our life!!!!
I really love the video, it tells a nice story, plus it looks really good.
Wow! This turned out great!
Beautiful shower. Great job, Steve
That foam bench is nice, finally nice to see a bench that water won’t crawl behind.
I leaned a lots of tile things ,thank you very much , one of best vidio.
Bathroom floor tile was replaced for sure , all new fixtures waterproofing and no one seems to calculate the glass for the encloser isn't cheap he had to work with homeowners in the showroom and hand laid the tiles in the exact pattern they choose. If anyone on here does work like this crew both thier knowledge, quality and patience it's well worth 20k. I'm sure they have no shortage of work .
Nice crystals!!! Beautiful work.
Stunning shower! and a lovely couple !!!
Great thoughtful design.
And the finished product is stunning.
I just bought my first house, built in 1939. Not kidding, the bathroom floor tile, sink, toilet, shower/tub and shower/tub knobs were all original in the master bath. COMPLETELY dilapidated, black mold everywhere, tiles broken all over the place, ceiling falling in, toilet leaking, sink leaking, all faucets dripping fast. And the couple I bought it from said "yeah its been like this for 20 years, we just never got around to fixing it up". Lazy people is all they were. I have demolished it over the last couple weeks and it needs a complete overhaul. Including all new drywall. Wish me luck haha.
Very well done. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Super Awesome Issac.
I like the wave effect that she came up with you you executed it very well
Remember that Isaac is in California, where taxes, cost of living, and materials are significantly higher. East coast you’re not looking at $20K. A high end shower could land you $8-13K in TN. From an experienced tiler.
Yeah its always interesting where customers get their inspiration..
Fun stuff!
Amazing. Great design.
Love your work man I thought myself how to float shower walls when I was in my 20’s I’m 43 now and I’ve been making a living doing tile yes it’s about 20k for a shower like that if you’re doing the plumbing, installing the shower glass doors installing the water proofing he also did the floor on outside the shower folks and he has to two Guys to pay he also used his own dump trailer
Awesome 👏🏼 well done!
I know you guys are in Northern Cali but I'm not sure where exactly. I was impressed with the selection at the Floor&Decor store. After watching the lady's careful selection of tile, I think she would have been happier with a better selection of tile from that store. I hope I'm not stepping on toes but if you've been there, then you know.
beautiful work of perfection
That’s my 2nd fav shower I’ve seen you guys do Isaac, what a beautiful shower and amazing clean crisp edges, corners, etc….Awesome install! Nailed it👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much Aepek! That means a lot
The bathroom looks awesome!
That was a really good video!
Nice video! And you spoke about pricing! Nice!
Amazing job 👍👍
U r doing well man it is beautiful and excellent water proof it is big different before and after ❤
would have loved watching you guys takin the tub through the house without damaging anything lol usually we just smash em up then bring em out, even the cast iron ones.
I love my tile coach!
20 stacks is lot! Probably worth it because of the expertise. I'm glad that I was able to do my own. I used top of the materials. I even put in the moen u smart shower. I couldn't find plumbers who knew how to install it start to finish. My bathroom cost me around 8k, All DIY, so I'm sure 20k is about the average for a top of the line remodel.
Do you video for your DIY projects?
@@trungphan2550 I try, but I'm a small channel and don't get a lot of views, I'm going to record the frameless shower door install
Wonderful video.
Beautiful work and an excellent video. I feel compelled to mention that seeing anyone demoing (wall tile, no less!) in shorts makes me cringe. Thankfully, it appears that she made it through with no new scars!
I like you Isaac but im Not sure i like the new format. Im a trades guy and like the detail and tech talk. The production quality is top notch on this video. You did a great job on it.
Great job again Isaac! Love the solid foam bench . Like I said before , would be nice to have those products here on the Big island .
They do have them on Big Island
I've been installing this type of shower system on the Kona side for a few years now
I love the foam as well - and they used it on the curb (looking at my leaking curb). No more carpenters "helping".
I wouldnt trust it if you are installing a huge glass panel
You’re becoming a tv star now man good vibes
Fantastic job brother!
Unbelievable price way over the top!
My vanity room was 21k plus. This one is way bigger the size than mine. I have doubt the installer or renovator does exactly the same style as the first installer of this video. Now I can see cracks from the window tile area.
