Just ordered mine and I cannot wait to tackle the steep hills of San Francisco. My Mac Wheel Pro failed miserably with a single 350 watt motor. If anyone whoever visited San Francisco can attest to how steep some of the streets and hills are. I would challenge anyone scooter company to prove their mettle here on the Streets Of San Francisco which was a great show! LOL

@@jayrolopez It performs like a dream. I usually out run any cars and get to work in five minutes. It takes me 20 minutes walking. I rode my Mantis on the steepest hill on California Street and had no problems. I'm thinking about getting the dual motor 1000 watts Kaboo 10 now.

Crazy how much more technologically advanced the latter has became in just 3 years time!
good general review. in Europe we only have the higher spec 2x800W Mantis 8 Dual, with either a 48V 18Ah or a 48V 24.5Ah battery.

Hey now! Thanks for this, I took delivery of this exact same Mantis, my first scooter, last month and I love it. I've got 150kms accident free so far and I live in Portland, Ore. so there are endless bike trails and shared roadways to explore. I have a 7km commute and take her whenever it's not raining. A question: what is my best source for accessories and parts?
fluid free ride will have parts for the matis 8. I buy parts for our wide wheels through there.

Does anyone bring their Mantis into their office and able to fit it under your desk? How’s your experience with that? I bought the Mantis for commute to work. Now I’m afraid I won’t be able to fit it by my desk at work. I didn’t realize how big it is.
I'm considering the nan robot lightning, it has dual 800 watt motors, solid wide tires, 30mph max, can install a seat, & only at $1300.
I'd be careful with solid tires, it needs high end suspension to make up for them. Most don't have it, so ride is bumpier

Never tried the other one. I can tell ya, the 8 is a solid scooter though. I'll have to try the 10.. stay tuned

I'm 5'3", would this scooter be too tall for me? Also, because it has "tubeless" tires, is it easier to get flats?
No. Its perfect for you. I'm 5'5"/165 and the handle bars are just about on the bottom of my boobs. I consider 5'3" and 5'5" practically the same difference

You had a lot of problems with your Kaabo Mantis and you want to buy it again? I want to buy my first electric scooter, but seems at all price range they have a short life, besides poor customer support ( I wish these reviews talk about customer support and if it's possible to replace the battery )

How would you rate this between Apollo Ghost, Emove Cruiser, Apollo Phantom or Varla Eagle one?
lol that's a hard question, Emove isn't in the same class and Apollo cost a bit more that being said, it holds up well as far as power and suspension. I've got a website where you can compare each of these brands. I first purchased the Minimotors edition, and then I went for the normal Plus version. The accelleration on this one is horrible compared to Minimotors, it's even worse than the cheapest rental scooter.. Is it normal for Mantis to have such bad acelleration? "Initial accelleration" is set to 1 i P-settings also, doesn't make a difference.
I thought it had a pretty good acceleration, wondering if you got a bad scooter

Error #7 means a Motor is disconnected or damaged.
Less than 5 rides :-( The scooter looks brand new!
No E-bike shop in Santa Monica will even look at it which means the Warranty offered by Kaabo is PARTS ONLY if you know how to service the scooter yourself.
I don't know how to service this thing! Is there any place in Los Angeles that can look at my scooter?!
