I love the interior designer 👩🏼🎨 “Steven.” He’s not pretentious like some designers you meet, he’s calm, knowledgeable and humble. I see why Jen likes him and his presence
Yes he is! A lovely man but then I can't imagine her letting anyone design her home that was not that way. She's so real lovely and down to earth herself. And creating such a personal space is very personal and unique.😊
jen is really literally a one of a kind of celebrity. she's very down to earth, never let the fame get to her head, still as sweet and loving as she was 30 years ago. she's very private about her life and keeps it that way and doesn't just go out and about sharing everything, which keeps that mystery around her which makes her just more loveable in my opinion. and to top it off, she has the greatest sense of style, in decorating, in clothes, in just everything.
This house..to this day is one of the most WARM, tasteful, luxurious yet somehow unpretentious and BEAUTIFUL homes I've ever seen...I just wanna melt into it.
While I was looking for a walk through of the house with Jen, I was surprised that it was an interview of Stephen Shadley. It was great to see him front and center and get the credit he deserves. Often time with celeb walking through their home, they fail to mention who made that interior happen.
Even people with comfortable family homes can have a "metal of choice". Maybe the choices are more limited, but you dont need to be wealthy to make customizations to your home or even hire an architect and make your own home from the ground up.

I am totally surprised and delighted. I was so very wrong about Jennifer Aniston's taste. I had her marked as favoring a girly, fluffy and flowery kind of interiors not something understated luxe, dark, masculine and sexy! Both houses were beautifully done - kudos both to the designer and the owner (who has great eye and excellent taste in art).
amazing space and such a lovely interview. I adore him and I love how he talks about the process. If I could afford someone like him that's who I would choose to design my house with me. I feel like it's a completely collaborative effort with him.
I like that she appointed architect to talk about designing house and her influence during a process-many famous ppl forgetting to mantion designers name.He is humble nice man.
I love when they talk to the person behind the design, you really get a look at the inspiration, and why pieces were picked. Super warm and cozy place!
Okay, so let's talk about the architect. This man has a youthfulness, humility and pleasantness to him that I find genuinely startling and looking at the comments a lot of people seem to agree. His aura is so vivid that you can't help but notice it but at the same time it's not overwhelming. This video is about the design in Jen's house yet I found his mannerisms and his voice more intriguing especially when contrasted to the interviewer. I think it's profound that someone like him -an expert at what he does and one who is and has been in the kind of circles that his work would allow him to frequent- seems so approachable and considerate of the voice of other people (the interviewer) even when he is the one who has been invited to speak on a topic he obviously has a higher information on. The lack of condescension in his tone when he agrees with the interviewer who answers a question she asked herself is beautiful. You've represented yourself well in 11 minutes sir. It would be an honour to work with you on a space one day.
Absolutely stunning! Feels very sensual and romantic at the same time. I love this kind of sit down interview with the designer. Please do this more often!
Actually, i'm hearing that a celeb featuring their house on AD indicates that they won't be having the house for long. Which makes sense. Which celeb wants to show you their home and belongings in detail and then stay there?? It's a safety issue.
Jennifer Aniston must be my spirit person, or whatever you call it! She's beautiful! I always want to copy her hairstyles (we seem to have the same hair texture),her clothes, her decorating style! Not to mention that I've watched her Dad on Day's of our lives forever!

That design at 0:23 on this video made my knees weak. I was standing up and I had to sit down. That is the most beautiful room I've ever seen in my life. It was a small room. But, the lighting, the colors, the layout and the view outside the room are breathtaking. If I ever have money to build a house, I am building it exactly like that. That's why I took a snapshot of that room. Now lets pray I get money someday.

And...I just found out Jennifer and her husband are getting a divorce. So sad to hear. Thanks for the great video! I love when a designer shows their work and creativity.
Aniston has a taste for lamps. Cool office. Warm modernity. Not her forever house. I like very much the element her husband added where those bikes stand.
Lovely interview with an amazing, thoughtful, and deeply reflective renowned interior designer. I thoroughly enjoyed it. To me, it wasn’t so much about Jen as it was about the layers in the process.
Comfortable home! She has a nice balance and obviously a lovely woman. Too bad another relationship fail, but hey, it's not the end of the world in any shape or form! 🙌
She made a good combi with the metal and wooden details. Good design and comfortable living space. A bit dark. That's the only thing and the bedroom I would change. 😊👍❤️

Agree. What I found equally annoying was her pushy tabloid need to find out about the couple and couple dynamics at the beginning. Stephen obviously has more professionalism than that, so good for him applying the discretion he wasnt afforded by Amy the interviewer. He remained focused on the design components and the influences coming together rather than about the personal wife & husband per se. This is one of the better examples I have seen on +Architectural Digest. Everything from the textures and lighting (that Tiffany is sublime), and other embellishments such as the clever tapestry that somehow comes across as screaming fabulousness whilst quietly sharing its space with the Shoemaker desk, only enhancing the qualities of each item without anything dominating, or appearing _too much_ or cluttered. The barstools have always been a favorite of mine and I've spotted a couple of other Blackman Cruz beauties as well. Sorry, blathering on. I just get excited when I see such great design placed together without them appearing anything less than fully functioning and functional items. There's nothing museum like or contrived about this home and yet any of these items are worthy of a degree of, shall we say - reverence? And as much as I love them, it's great that there's not a Wassily, Le Corbusier or Eames chair to be seen. Though I'd ditch the buddah.

This is the first celebrity home in which I didn't think - why did they do this or that ? It's literally perfection.
I just noticed the bar. 😂
You can tell an older individual designed this place because that level of sophistication really doesn't happen without a few years under your belt.
Imagine being so rich that you had a ‘metal of choice’ throughout your house
yeah if it came from the dollar store!
for each of her 14 homes, not including her rentals, lands, and holiday apartments....
Even people with comfortable family homes can have a "metal of choice". Maybe the choices are more limited, but you dont need to be wealthy to make customizations to your home or even hire an architect and make your own home from the ground up.
